About Laura Andersen

Fun spirited couple that enjoys the outdoors. The Smoky Mountain National Park is one of the most popular of the national parks in the country. We are always amazed by its beauty. There couldn't be a better place to share this with guests wanting to create vacation memories that last a lifetime.

Laura Andersen purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Laura Andersen chose Black Bear Falls

We love the Smoky Mountain National Park. There was list of requirements for purchasing this cabin; outstanding mountain views from the decks, hot tub and each bedroom window has a mountain view to wake up to. The next requirement was the convenience of the cabin to the surrounding attractions; this cabin is a short 10 minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg and a scenic, 20 minute drive to Dollywood. After looking at many cabins, we feel fortunate to have found our piece of paradise in this cabin, 'Black Bear Falls Cabin.'

What makes this cabin unique

Enjoying the outdoor life with hiking, horse back riding, white water rafting, etc.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin was great. Our group loved the amazing views of the mountains and the location to downtown Gatlinburg. My wife and daughters spent some time shopping at the outlets in Pigeon Forge. Even when we decided not to venture out, it was relaxing to spend time just enjoying the hot tub. We'll be back! Bill

Beautiful cabin with all the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in the Smoky Mountains and I can't imagine staying at a better cabin. It's in a gorgeous, peaceful location and yet conveniently located less than 5 minutes from the Gatlinburg main street. It's a wonderful, tidy, nicely-decorated home that was so easy to move right into for the week and feel entirely "at home". The layout is great with the 3 bedrooms on separate floors with their own private baths, providing us all with our own space, which was very appreciated after being together all day as a family on our excursions. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the pool table and video game table. We loved being able to grill out and relax in the hot tub. Enjoyed the rocking chairs and swing on the deck overlooking the forest and mountain vista, and it was fun discovering little hidden decorative items in the trees around the cabin. The living room space is gorgeous and a great place to gather as a family, with a lovely fireplace, and the kitchen is really nicely equipped - we enjoyed many family meals at the large dining room table. The resort itself is also pristine/very well maintained and although we never ended up using the community pool, we did meet a friendly groundskeeper on our walk down to the front pond on our first morning there, and he was very welcoming and even brought out some duck food so that we could feed the three resident white ducks. It's just an all-around comfortable place to spend time in and around the wonderful Gatlinburg area and the cabin was an integral part of making this one of our favorite vacations ever. We highly recommend it!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your vacation stay at Black Bear Falls Cabin. We do have a great on-site groundskeeper that goes out of his way to make the guests he comes across feel welcome during their stay. The waterfalls and ponds located throughout Black Bear Falls gives it a rustic and scenic feel that all the guests appreciate. We look forward to your return. Laura & Smoky the Bear

Everything we wanted and more!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first ever vacation as an extended family (of 10) and we couldn't have picked a better cabin for our first experience in the Great Smokey Mountains. This cabin has a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. We absolutely loved getting up in the morning and drinking coffee in the rocking chairs on the porch just listening to the sounds of nature outside. We enjoyed the community pool as well as the hot tub at the cabin. We weren't quite sure what to expect as far as amenities provided at the cabin, but the cabin was fully stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed, towels, soap, extra bedding and more. We pretty much cooked all of our meals at the cabin and having a dishwasher was a nice bonus which made it really nice and easy for cleanup. While having the luxury of staying in the mountains, you are literally only 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg with tons of attractions, restaurants, and family friendly activities. Our family enjoyed Ripleys minigolf, Ripleys aquarium, the Anakesta Chair Lift (my favorite), go cart rides and the Rocky Mountain Coaster. We had a great time and we hope to be back again next year! Black Bear Falls Cabin is definitely a place that we will stay again!

Beautiful cabin. Great location. We will definitely be back!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six had a great time at this cabin. It was beautiful. It was very clean and well maintained. The location was excellent - not too far away yet very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to do a review of Black Bear Falls Cabin. This is a cabin in a well placed location; close to the downtown Gatlinburg area, but very quiet & wooded. The best of both worlds. We look forward to your return. Laura & Smoky the Bear

This is a lovely cabin with plenty of room for a larger family.

  • 4 of 5

Everyone really enjoyed themselves on this trip in spite of the rain. The community pool was great, the little ones loved it. Thus cabin is close to downtown Gatlinburg, the craft loop and the national park. So there is plenty to do during your stay. Cabin overall very clean, well kept but we personally would have preferred a bigger grill. Overall an enjoyable stay.
