This is a faithfully restored 1840's Texas farmhouse. Charming non-cooking kitchen w/micro, fridge, sink and seating. Tin tub/shower in bathroom off the porch. Flat screen TV, central air/heat. Rocking porch overlooking olive trees, ponds, walking trails and outdoor sculptures. Upstairs bedroom sleeps three, downstairs bedroom sleeps two. Wonderful place to relax, walk the trails or read a book.
We enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and strolling around downtown LaGrange looking at all the treasures.
The stay there was wonderful. The grounds were. Beautiful and the farm house was just adorable. It was exactly what I was wanting for a stay for my mom and I. I think it would have been a little inconvenient getting ready in the mornings if there would have been more ladies, just because of lack of lighting/mirrors, and plugs, but the whole decor fit the time period of the house. This is definitely not a complaint, just a heads up for someone searching for a place. My mother and I could not have been more pleased with house. Bonnie done an amazing job restoring the farm house and you can tell she takes pride in her work because of the little details she paid attention to. She is also a very gracious host and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay there again or at any of her other properties.
We had a great time walking the grounds and sitting on the porch. The owner provided many amenities, and the beds were wonderful. The only thing needed was a room with more comfortable seating. Inside you had to sit on antique furniture in one of the bedrooms or on very small antique chairs in the kitchen. The outside stairs to the bedroom are very steep and you must use great care going up and down, especially at night when going to the bathroom off the porch. So cute, but maybe us girls are not the pioneer women we thought we were! Still a great time though and very relaxing! Very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our complementary wine!
We had a great girls getaway weekend at The Hinze House. The house was better than we expected and had lots of vintage character. The grounds of the property are beautiful and the front porch is a great spot for relaxing after shopping Round Top.
We stopped at Bistro 108 for Sunday brunch on our way out of La Grange-- definitely recommend it too!
Perfect place for 3 friends to stay during Antique Week - we all loved it. Close enough yet far away from the maddening crowds. Very charming. Comfortable beds and linens. Awesome atmosphere. We will be booking again for the Fall!
My husband and I have never spent time in this amazing town and we were delighted, not only by our stay, but also the surrounding town!
Our Farmhouse was pleasant, welcoming and close to all the things we wanted to do ( historic jailhouse, bistro 108, the brewery ruins and trails)
The farmhouse had a bottle of wine waiting for us which was so wonderful on our long walks around the property. We loved looking at all the art and livestock. I highly recommend a stay here if you want to escape from it all and just relax into nature.
