When you enter the front door you are blown away by the high vaulted pine ceiling with large central beam.This open space contains the great room with lots of seating and space for your group. It also has a large dining area plus breakfast bar with seating for 10. Gather around the game table or grab a rocker in front of the fireplace. The large kitchen is well-stocked and is very special, from the solid cabinets to the ocean-colored glass tile and the old farmhouse light over the sink. A salvaged window pane door serves as entry into the pantry. This home is full of personality. Not to be missed is the built-in water fountain that brings back memories of school days gone by.

The master bedroom contains a queen-size bed with separate sitting area, large walk-in closet and a pass-thru master bath. It is a bright, relaxing room you can retreat to with a good book.The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with walk-thru access to the second bathroom. The third bedroom contains 2 twin-size bunk beds and is filled with bright island colors. This home has a washer and dryer in the utility room.

Relax in one of the 3 double swings on the front porch at the end of your day. This is the perfect place to talk and share. There is ample parking for vehicles and a boat. There is a large fenced, landscaped yard with outdoor rain shower and Weber charcoal grill. Don't miss the salt pine trees in the yard. This is a dog friend friendly vacation home upon approval prior to reservation. There is a ramp to accommodate a wheelchair leading to the front door.

Up to Two small dogs under 20lbs. $50.00 fee per plus lodging tax.

Perfect beach getaway

We stayed with friends at the Salt Pines house and were very comfortable with six people. The backyard is great for grilling and the kitchen and great room make an ideal gathering spot for eating and lounging around. I cooked a lot and found for the most part the appliances were adequate. We purchased and left a nonstick skillet and cutting board for the next guests to use and enjoy. We had a great time and would love to stay here again when we return next year.

Mary and Dale were also excellent communicators throughout the process, which made everything easy.

Mosquitos were UNBEARABLE!

Cute place. However, many amenities that did not work. Beds and furniture not very comfortable. Not a family location with Bar right next door. Lights from surrounding commercial buildings stay on ALL NIGHT. Make sure you get up and out early on check out day! We got rudely rushed out the door by management at 11:18 am.

We WONT be back.

Owner's Response: We welcome our guests at the home and tell all of our guests to let us know if there is anything you need or if something is not working correctly. If we had received a call from you in reference to something not working, we respond 24 hours a day, but we received no calls. Yes, there is a commercial ice maker in the utility room with a sign on it that is does not work. The home is not marketed with a commercial ice maker. One of the mattresses in the home is a high-end Serta and was purchased new 6 months ago. There is a lazy boy brand chair in the living room. The restaurant/bar next door has live music on the weekends only and stops playing music at 10 pm in accordance with our city ordinance. Many guests have enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the music. This is a barrier island and the 2017 summer has been the rainiest in 5 years. Yes, mosquitoes hatch. Off and other products are effective against mosquitoes. The city sprays each evening for mosquito control. The websites, emails, and check-in form that you signed at check-in clearly states that check-out is before 11 am. You received a phone call at 11:20 in reference to not having left the home. You stated you needed another 20 minutes. Many guest think ahead and call us and ask if a late check-out is available. This is a popular rental and in the summer guests check-out by 11 and new guests come in on the same day at 4. All management companies charge $50 to guests that do not depart on time. You were not charged a fee. An additional cleaning fee was not charged for check out procedures not completed, such as removing all household trash. In addition every quilt, throw and rug had to be washed and all furniture vacuumed to remove the excessive dog hair as your pet was allowed in beds and on furniture. It is unfortunate your stay was less than ideal, but there are multiple lines of communication, policies and procedures in place to make sure guests experiences are ideal. Future guests please allow ample time to follow check-out procedures and packing so that departures are pleasant and on time.

Great renovations, great location!

This property is REALLY close to everything Port A! One block from the beach road access and a few blocks from "Downtown". The inside is renovated and easily sleeps 10 people (including the fold out couch). Fenced in yard was a plus for our pup! Highly recommended.

Comfortable and convenient in town, with room for all!

My family really enjoyed this old style Port Aransas house, with amazing wood paneling throughout and a comfortable seat for all! At one point my mom, my three sisters, and I were all rocking in a rocker. The yard was great for the cousins to run and play and the front porch swings were all used at once. I will definitely rent this house again.
