About Tammi Thomas

I have owned and Operated Rainier Cottages since 2007. I'm a single Mom of 4 amazing individuals. The kids and I run this business hands on, and they are learning the meaning and payoffs of hard work, and having a passion for what you do. In our free time we love to camp, hike, backpack, and snow shoe on the Mountain.

Tammi Thomas purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Tammi Thomas chose Mount Rainier

Serenity Cabin is a perfect little A frame cabin. It has rustic charm, without missing out on any modern features. The back deck is quiet and the birds will keep you entertained while you have a morning coffee before heading up to Mt. Rainier.

What makes this cabin unique

Serenity Cabin is the Maves family cabin. It has a great family story behind it, with many happy family memories made here! I think you will find it as enchanting and memorable as the Maves family has for generations. It is a unique find, rather than a cookie cutter home rental experience. Each item in the cabin has been lovingly chosen throughout the years to compliment the cabins mountain A frame's distinctive charm. The effect is a priceless gem of a mountain cabin experience!

Great cabin for a romantic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at serenity cabin was a perfect weekend getaway from Portland. My boyfriend and I stayed at the cabin for a total of 3 nights. We were impressed by its proximity to Mt. Rainier National Park and its cleanliness. The cabin is well maintained, while also have a cute rustic feel. Checking in/out was a piece of cake. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends who are looking for a place to stay while they explore Mt. Rainier National Park!

Clean, quiet, charming, loved the craftsmanship and decor

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed two nights for our anniversary. We were very pleased with this cabin, and will certainly come back. It is very tastefully decorated and comfortable on the inside and serene outside. We kept saying "wow that's cool". The hot tub felt wonderful (a little too much chemicals for us but not bad). We couldn't get the DVD player to work upstairs (might of been just us?) and it would have been nice to have a player for the big screen downstairs-but really no big deal! Was very relaxing, private, and satisfying.

The information services at the Ashford base camp was great; the lady there really knows the area. We wanted (and did) Glacier View hike (AMAZING!!!)-couldn't find the road to get up there, and she directed us right there.

I found the owner, Tammy, very responsive and helpful with my questions-excellent customer service.

Great Spot

  • 5 of 5

WOW!! What a great place this was. We are a couple in our late 40's and wanted a spot close to Mt Rainer National Park and found this jewel. The setting is spectacular snuggled in a wooded lot with short trails through the woods that make you feel you are more remote than you are. There is a property adjoining that is very close however we only saw someone one time during our three night stay.

This place has been set up for a perfect getaway spot from the hot tub to the fire pit to the wood stove to all of the necessities to cook as little or as much as you want. We enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner on the deck after preparing it on the BBQ grill the first night we were there.

We enjoyed the hot tub every morning and every evening, it was especially relaxing after our long hikes in the park.

This property is close to the park and has several choices of restaurants close by and a small general store in Ashford.

The bedroom is only available via an attic ladder, which is fine, just be sure you are comfortable climbing up and down a ladder to the bed.

I can't think of any other thing that they could of provided to make this more of an enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this spot!

Cozy cabin provides an amazing getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We had an amazing time here! This cabin is super close to the entrance to Mt. Rainier Park, and we were able to go snowshoeing for the first time - which we loved. It is a dream to come back to Serenity Cabin with the woodburning stove and the hot tub out back. The cabin has everything you need, including a fully stocked kitchen and enough room to sleep 4 people. The kitchen knives were pretty dull and the wifi didn't work (but we didn't mind about the wifi - it meant that we TRULY were able to get away). Thank you!!

More than what I was expecting

  • 5 of 5

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday weekend. There was a full kitchen including coffee beans and grinder. The scenery was beautiful, the cabin was cozy. We are already talking about coming back in the warmer months so we could take advantage of the outside grill and fire-pit.

Conveniently located near Mt. Rainier Nisqually Entrance!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent our 3rd year wedding anniversary hiking and exploring Mt. Rainier for a few days. This cabin is conveniently located near the park entrance. It has all the necessities and we were even able to grill some steak kabobs for an anniversary dinner on their propane grill located on front porch. Although the cabin does have some privacy fences, trees surrounding, you do feel close to the neighbors. This is also very close to the highway and could hear road noise/sirens throughout the late night. We hiked all day and only spent our nights at the cabin, the hot tub was great! We would come back to do further hiking if Mt. Rainier calls our name again!
