About Heather Reams

Howdy I'm Heather my husband and I are in the western entertainment business. I'm from Hollywood ,California. I moved here in 1989 and love it. My husband was born and raised here in Fort Worth. We have four kids and only one is still here our son. We love to travel to warm places. We went to Costa Rica last November and loved it. We love the outdoors and I think my outdoors looks better than my indoors. I go crazy in the winter if I can't be outside. My husband is the cook around here and I do the outside work. When my husband is out of town we are all on a diet...

Heather Reams purchased this house in 1998

Why Heather Reams chose Texas

This is our oasis we have everything here we enjoy. Our houses sit on a hill, with a breeze in the summer time keeps it 10 degrees cooler. We have the most beautiful sunsets, and sun rises. Our property is mostly at the front of the house, and we have a 1 acre pond full of fish. It's very peaceful and relaxing here. My father built this house for a prep kitchen and a bunkhouse, but it has been changed 3 times since 2005. It's a pier and beam house with a metal roof with 3 French doors and 2 regular doors. LIKE our Facebook page at buckhorn1902 and check out more photos.

What makes this house unique

Private if you want privacy. Our ranch has a automatic gate at the entrance and the house has it's own driveway right to the house. a two car carport and two entrances on the south side. Sitting areas are all around the ranch. We enjoy sitting outside at the end of the day. The pool is a shared pool, but if we have guest we do not use the pool.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The Buckhorn Ranch house was amazing. The description was just as is said...really better. Heather was there to show us around the place and tell me all I needed to know. The location was perfect, close to a toll road, but far enough away to be quiet & peaceful. If you want a cozy comfort, a clean well stocked ranch house, friendly hosts that are there for whatever you need. The great outdoors, a place to relax and unwind. Then this is the place for you.

We enjoyed our stay on this beautiful piece of property! Sitting on the porch and looking out at the longhorns and horses, a true Texas experience! The owners have thought of everything in this charming guest house. We hope to return someday!

Quiet Safe and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

The house was better than advertised. Heather and Buck have put a lot of thought into creating a comfortable vacation home. We loved all the western detail in the home plus the amenities were more than a person could expect! The beds were comfortable and the pool area was so relaxing. Our group definitely enjoyed staying here and would love to visit again!

Peaceful country living

  • 5 of 5

Traveling with my mother, aunt, friend and two large dogs on our way back home to Colorado and found this little gem south of Dallas Fort Worth. The guest house on this ranch is decorated in wonderful western theme with fantastic touches in every corner, many made by the owner's creative hand. Every little detail accounted for so don't worry about towels or sunscreen of the pool or spices as most house rentals don't provide. The house is well stocked and comfortable. We used both the front and back porch to follow the sun and chit chat over a glass of wine (or two). We floated a bit in the pool, but it was a little cool for the temps during our stay. A night and morning of rain kept us in reading books, but we were able to walk down the lane with dogs to meet the horses and long horns in our short two-day stay. We had an initial tour of the house and barn to see the animals to kicks off our stay. A lot of work goes into maintaining a property of this nature and there are wonderful bits of detail everywhere so be sure to take a walkabout. We enjoyed dinner out in Burleson just a short drive away.

We were a group of 4 ladies who came for the 3 day Mustang Makeover Sept. 15-18 2016. Staying at Buckhorn Ranch will go down as one of the most happy memories in our life time! From the initial booking to the last minute directions, Heather was extremely prompt and helpful. The Guest house is very spacious(bigger than the pictures}, decorated beautifully, and very clean. Everything is there to cook with, plenty of towels, etc. I didn't see anything missing that anyone could possibly need. Our first day we got to enjoy the beautiful pool and hang out at the pavillion with all the amenities you could ask for. Buck came out to welcome us as Heather was away. He is an interesting fellow to talk to. We got to meet the family dogs and see the minature horses, all adorable. He gave us a tip on a restaurant, Horseshoe Hill at the Stockyards if we wanted Tx cookin. We all agreed we could not have had a better meal and dining experience anywhere. We had busy days at the horse show but every morning we got up super early so we could have coffee on that Amazing front porch. The view is picturesque and it is so peaceful. We came back in late evening and couldn't wait to go out on the porch and relax after a long day. The ranch is an easy commute to Will Rogers Colliseum and the Stockyards, On Sunday before we were leaving Heather came over to meet us, because we had not been available before, What a lovely Lady! I could go on and on about what a great experience we had. I will say the only regret we had was, we did not have enough free time to see Buck and Heather's Longhorns and his wild west show. Next time we want to spend more time just relaxing at the Ranch! We are definetly coming back. What an Awesome experience!!!

Perfect family, group, or couple retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (two teen girls, mom and sister) stayed for 4 days and 3 nights over Labor Day weekend 2016. We could not have possibly picked a better rental.

We were greeted days before the trip with helpful information, contact details, and packing information. Upon arrival we were allowed to look through the house and property briefly before meeting up near the pool with Heather and her husband Buck. Everything was so laid back while simultaneously every detail was covered.

The rooms were perfect size to accomodate our family. The ranch house was decorated with classicly rustic western and Texas theming. The kitchen was fully stocked with every tool, appliance, or condiment one could possibly need. The bathroom was equally stocked with laundry items, plenty of towels, and a small selection of personal items.

We used the ramch house for breakfasts but could have easily had more meals here. In addition, we spent a lot of time in the amazing pool. The kids enjoyed meeting and petting all of the animals and we were allowed to take pictures near the longhorns.

The ranch is situated just a short drive from the conveniences of home (Walmart, Kroger, and restraunts were all about 15 minutes away) and a quick 30-40 minutes from the Stockyards in Ft. Worth. We also took a morning to visit downtown Dallas and that was about a 1 hour drive.

We absolutely loved our time at the ranch and cannot wait to come back. Next time we hope to have the time to catch Buck and the longhorns at the wild west show.

Do yourself a favor and take some time off and relax at the ranch. Your family will remember this trip forever.

Wonderful guest house - terrific property - super hosts!

  • 5 of 5

First off the guest house is much larger than the photos appear. The guest house is warm, comfortable and decorated in Texas Chic. I could have just stayed forever.

All three generations of our family group loved the house and the pool area is incredible. Sadly we didn't get to enjoy the pool due to rain which was crazy in August! But even with the rain our family had a fabulous time. We had plenty of room to play games watch movies, visit and room for private quiet times. The grandsons loved seeing the animals and have informed us we need to buy that house and live there so they can visit often! lol We won't be trying to talk Heather & Buck into selling but we will surely be visiting again.

Some basic information: it's easy to find, the house is laid out great, just about anything you need is there simply bring your food and any special beauty products you need. Heather even has blow dryers for guests' use. The guest house and property is very clean and maintained, the hosts are terrific and honestly you should do yourself a big favor & book this property

It's the perfect location for both solitude and going to events. And we are planning to return when we can attend Buck's show.

Thank you Heather & Buck for sharing your beautiful ranch with us so we could meet & visit with our daughter & grandsons.

Notes:
The Fort Worth Stockyards are a must to visit. There is a rodeo every Friday and Saturday night, Wild West Show every Saturday and Sunday, and a cattle drive twice a day at 11:30am and 4pm. In the other direction there is Glen Rose. My favorite place to visit there is Fossil Rim Wild Life Park. Drive your car through exotic animals, after that visit Dinosaur World for hiking, picnic, or a fossil dig. In the town of Burleson there is Lost Oak Winery that holds events, music, and of course wine tasting. There are lots of restaurants in the area, water parks, lakes, horseback riding at Benbrook lake.
