About the property

This lovely, light, first floor apartment with its own access & private balcony is part of a small guesthouse. This means you can be completely independent or benefit from the services available (delicious home made breakfasts, housekeeping, table d’hotes, etc.). The choice is yours.

The 40m2 (430 sq ft) apartment comprises an open-plan kitchen/living room with a round dining table and a comfortable sofa bed. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and an en suite bathroom with shower & wc. The kitchen is compact but well equipped with an oven, a four-ring gas hob, a microwave, a large fridge and a dishwasher. The apartment was completely renovated in 2015 and has both heating and air conditioning.

The apartment is set apart from the other guest rooms, up an outside stone staircase, but you have access to the heated swimming pool and large garden with views to the Luberon mountains. There are sun loungers and umbrellas round the pool for your use. The property also has a ping-pong table and a boules court. A wooden terrace under the hundred-year-old chestnut tree opposite the apartment is an ideal spot for summer meals. The property has ample secure parking and the gate is locked at night.

The Cortasse family have lived in this former Provencal farmhouse for six generations and the current owners, Michele and Rémy, converted it into a small guesthouse in 1994. It is situated in the glorious Luberon countryside near the hill top villages of Gordes, Goult and Roussillon and just 1km (about half a mile) from the pretty hamlet of Saint Pantaléon where there is a small bar/restaurant. It’s a tranquil spot where time seems to stand still but at the same time ideally placed for exploring the area whether on foot, by bike or in a car.

Getting here:

As we are in the countryside, it’s best to hire a car. The nearest airport is Marseille/Provence and the nearest high speed train station is Avignon TGV.

About MR and MRS CORTASSE Michele and Remy

20 years ago, after a career in the hotel business, Michele decided to return to her native Luberon. It seemed to her that the former wine-growing property belonging to her husband’s family, well positioned in the centre of the Luberon, was the ideal place to create a bed and breakfast. 
Since then she shares her passion for this little corner of Provence with her guests. 
She enjoys helping them plan their visits and hikes and advising them where to eat. Last year her husband gave up his professional activity and they now share the running of La Badelle. They both love food and traditional Provençal recipes and enjoy preparing ‘table d’hôte’ meals for their guests. 
They also enjoy travelling, discovering new places and making new friends whether at La Badelle or on the other side of the world.

The property has been in the same family for six generations. Rémy and his wife Michele are the current owners of this beautiful converted farmhouse. It is still very much a family property and Rémy's mother lives next door. It's in a quiet residential area surrounded by pine trees and vines with a view of the Luberon mountains.

Comfortable charming apartment in stunning Luberon scenery

Really high quality apartment with good quiet air-conditioning (much needed - very hot in the daytime), well equipped kitchen and charming small balcony. The owners lovely dog was a bonus!

The owners were very pleasant but not intrusive at all if peace was wanted as in our case.

Overall I cannot fault it. An additional bonus is that we didn't even see a mosquito all week although wasps at lunchtime were tiresome.

Schönes Apartment auf gepflegtem Anwesen

Modern eingerichtetes Apartment auf einem wunderschönen und gepflegten Anwesen in St. Pantaleon (nahe Gordes). Die Vermieter Michele und Remy sind sehr gastfreundlich und für diese Anlage (ein altes Mas) fast ein bisschen zu beneiden. Den kleinen Balkon vor der Wohnung haben wir täglich genutzt - ein super Plus! Außerdem der Pool mit tollem Ausblick und ausreichend Liegen und Sonnenschirmen etc. Beides ideal für ein abendliches Glas Wein zum Ausklang des Tages. Schön ist auch die Alternative, dass man sich entweder um das Frühstück selbst kümmert oder das Frühstück im B&B von Michele bereiten lässt.

Von den Haustieren (eine Hündin, zwei Katzen) auf dem Anwesen bekommt man nur etwas mit, wenn man darauf wert legt. Die sind sehr gut erzogen und lassen einen in Ruhe, wenn man das will.

St. Pantaleon ist zudem ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen im Luberon. Sehr zu empfehlen ist übrigens auch das Bistrot des Roques in St. Pantaleon! Hervorragende Küche zu unschlagbar guten Preisen! Wir hätten ein solches Restaurant mit Tageskarte dort so nicht erwartet und waren - mehrfach - schwer begeistert!

Wir kommen bestimmt wieder - zum Mas La Badelle uns ins Bistrot des Roques !
