About Sheryl Papandria

I am an interior designer and my husband is a retired police officer. We both enjoy the outdoors and nature which is why we purchased the property.

We also like to hunt, fish, hike, ski, garden, cook, entertain, and spend time with our friends and family. We couldn't think of a better place to do all of the above.

Sheryl Papandria purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Sheryl Papandria chose Vandalia

This property has so much to offer and we knew we just wouldn't find anything else like it. It truly is one of a kind. Everybody that comes out here is just blown away. It's been a lot of hard work, but well worth it. We love it here!!

What makes this cottage unique

This property is truly unique because it has a little bit of everything. There is a lake, a pond, a moving stream, hills, woods, open areas, and it's far enough off the main road to give you that secluded feeling. Yet there are many places that provide all the modern conveniences only minutes away. Being next to T. K. Lawless Park is a huge plus with everything they have to offer and just knowing that the property won't be developed gives us a sense of security and reassures our privacy.

Peaceful and relaxing week.

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our week at Dan and Sheryl's guest home. We made use of the "sit on top" kayaks pretty much every day on the lake. Lime lake has crystal clear water and my husband caught lots of fish every day. He said that he got "bass thumb" from taking so many off the hook!

There is a beautiful county park accessible from the end of the driveway with many well maintained trails, which we used daily. We also enjoyed wildlife right around the house including 3-4 deer visiting mornings and evenings.

The house itself was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The screened porch has 2 ceiling fans, comfortable furniture and a gorgeous view of the grounds and the lake. We ate most of our meals out there. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics and then some. This retreat was carefully and thoughtfully designed, furnished and every need anticipated.

We plan to return!

What a great place for a vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We returned to our hometown area after moving to Florida last year and needed a place to stay. Lime Lake Lodge is like a home away from home and Sheryl and Dan are such great hosts. The only problem is that we only stayed one week!! We look forward to returning next summer and would love to stay longer.

A Gem!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect getaway!! Whenever you reserve a place site unseen, you're taking a chance as to what you get. Driving down the dirt road, we had no idea what we were in for. When the trees opened up to Sheryl and Dan's property, though, we couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. Then we checked out the lake (awesome to swim in, but keep in mind no gradual beach if you have little ones or inexperienced swimmers), the kayaks and paddle boat and the resident swans. We love to walk and hike and had no idea there was an 850 acre state park with walking trails bordering the property (and accessible by just walking down the drive). We walked a total of about 4 hours and saw maybe 8 people. There were pockets of isolated lakes that were just beautiful.

The house itself was great as well. Sheryl's done a wonderful job of making it cozy and comfortable with lots of plush throw blankets and pillows. And then there's the porch! We practically lived out there. Had we been able to take it home with us, we would have! I also want to note the queen bed was incredibly comfortable. That makes a big difference when you're away from home. Keep in mind it was just my husband and I and we didn't use either the second upstairs bedroom or the downstairs so I can't comment on either of those.

Dan and Sheryl were incredibly friendly and accommodating, giving us tips about local places to eat and things to do, and just some nice, friendly conversation.

This entire experience was a perfect, relaxing yet active getaway! Thanks Sheryl and Dan!!
