2 bedroom apartment right on the front, in the heart of town.
About Tim Hewitt
After a very fulfilling 25 year teaching career, I decided that I wanted to do something even more satisfying: gardening. I set up a maintenance gardening company in the area I have always lived in, North East London. As part of that dream, we (my wife, Emma, and I) were lucky enough to be able to purchase The Garden Flat as a holiday let business.
Tim Hewitt purchased this Apartment in 2015
Why Tim Hewitt chose Broadstairs
We had been coming to Broadstairs on holiday for five years and fell in love with the place. My mother went to school in Westgate and the area is just right for holidays and weekend breaks from London. When the flat became available, despite the huge amount of refurbishment needed, we knew that we had to give it a go and have not looked back since.
What makes this Apartment unique
The location is the number one reason to love this flat. It could not be nearer to the beach without getting wet feet. The period property is also an attractive one.We love renovating furniture, antique fairs and car boot sales too. Much of the furniture and decor of the flat has been renovated by us. It acts as a place to keep a small portion of my vinyl record collection. As a gardener, I also relish the challenge of making the garden work!

Wonderful property in the most perfect location!
A wonderful property! We have just spent Christmas here & were over the moon with it, It is a beautiful flat & was so surprised how big & roomy it was when we walked in, my first comment was Wow! Very high standard throughout & the bathroom was fabulous not only a gorgeous & big walk-in shower but a huge bath too. The whole flat is simply lovely with everything you need for a short break or holiday. The location is fantastic - walk outside & you are opposite the fabulous beach & Victoria gardens it was perfect in every way. Highly recommended for a visit to beautiful Broadstairs.
Beautiful flat in a perfect spot (ie right next to Morelli’s). Owner fantastically friendly too.
The flat is in perfect condition and the owner has great taste in decor and furniture. It’s also surprisingly big when you first head in through the front door! Plenty here to amuse too: record player and records, plenty of books, board games and lots of toys for the kids too.
The location is ideal for heading into to town or taking a walk along the coast.
All in all, no complaints. We’ll definitely be back!
A perfect location and tastefully decorated
Tim's flat is impeccably decorated, bright, very clean, welcoming, within seconds of the sea front and has all you could ask for in terms of facilities. All the little homely touches were much appreciated and the bed was super comfy.
The correspondence was helpful, and Tim was very patient with my questions.
We are pleased that you had a good time and enjoyed your stay. You are always welcome back.
Excellent flat near beach and town centre.
We had an excellent few days in this well equipped basement flat. Everything was as described, we had good communication from the owner beforehand, particularly with advice on where to park. The flat is comfortable and private. Very clean, with lovely courtyard garden where we sat and relaxed. The beach and promenade are a minute away. Couldn’t be in a better location. We found lots of diverse places to eat , including the excellent ice cream emporium along the front. The Dickens museum is about five minutes walk away and worth a visit. The beach is clean and welcoming. Lifeguard was present when we were there. The steps down to the flat are steep. It is situated in a quaint square which boasts a blue plaque for Oliver Postgate. We had not been to Broadstairs before and were pleased to find a host of small independent traders on the high street, plus some charity shops for browsing. Two very good bucket and spade souvenir shops at the bottom of the high street. We certainly hope to return and stay again.
Fabulous location and wonderful accommodation
We spent a week at this beachside flat and loved Broadstairs and the flat was a perfect location.
There is every thing you need here, everything has been thought of for your stay, the beds are super comfortable and the extra touches such as the record player were really appreciated. The children liked the games and books that were there too. Although it was a bit too cold on our stay to sit in it, the courtyard garden is a great size and worked well to pop sand-covered wellies and buckets and spades in to dry off!
Broadstairs itself is a lovely little town with a fantastic beach with Stone Bay around the corner, which for a spring break, seemed to be more sheltered than Viking Bay.
The beach walk to Ramsgate is a lovely walk and there is plenty to see and do a short distance away.
The town is very well provided with a range of excellent restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets. The high street also has some interesting non-chain shops to browse.
Further afield the Tate Gallery, Shell Grotto and Dreamland in Margate are worth visiting. Manston has its own RAF Spitfire museum and the Hornby Railway museum is a short drive away too.
