About the property

The Trail's End Cabin is the newest Vacation Cabin Listing in Cloudcroft. It was just completely remodeled and furnished for your Family Getaway. We are located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, just a block and a half off Burro Street. We are right on the border the Lincoln National Forest, just step across the street to begin your exploration of the OSHA Trail, one of the best nature hikes in the region.

Trails end offers three private bedrooms and two full baths. We have a complete kitchen stocked with all you need to prepare your family meals or walk right up the street to Burro Street and enjoy any of Cloudcroft's great Family Restaurants.

The Master Bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, large closet and private bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen sized pillow top mattress and direct access to deck that overlooks the National Forest. The third bedroom has two twin sized beds, a large closet and a TV with Playstation for your video game enthusiast.

We have a new 50' smart TV with a Netflix subscription to relax and enjoy a movie. We offer free high speed fiber optic internet, and a large selection of board games for old fashioned family fun time. We purposely do not have satellite TV, We planned this as a quiet getaway for family time. You will feel the stress disappear as soon as you walk through the doors of the Trail's End Cabin. You can keep as busy as you wish, mountain biking, hiking, golf, disc golf, skiing, ice skating, hunting or bird watching in the forest, or you can just curl up in front of the fireplace and enjoy a good book. Enjoy the cool mountain pines during your summer escape or play in our winter wonderland. Enjoy one of our many arts and craft shows, our unique family Mardi Gras Celebration, an old fashioned melodrama, or dance to the live music at the Western Bar and Grill. About The Owner

I am a retired firefighter from El Paso Texas, my wife is a teacher and a life time El Pasoan. I am originally from Washington State, close to the Canadian border. I moved to the southern border 35 years ago and have missed the green mountains of my youth. But I also grew to love the Southwest with its rich Hispanic culture. Cloudcroft was the perfect mix of both worlds. Our children all love the outdoors, they are all avid mountain bikers, snowboarders and skiers. We love the Family atmosphere and small town values that Cloudcroft offers. We love nature and all always in awe of how beautiful Cloudcroft is, it is so close to the big cities, yet it is full of unspoiled beauty. Cloudcroft has been our perfect destination for winter fun and to escape the heat of the desert in the summer.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2014

Why The Owner chose New Mexico

We felt that this cabin was the perfect property for a family getaway. We felt it was in the perfect location and we were excited to be able to purchase it and get involved in the remodeling project which reflected our personalities. It is located right in the Heart of Cloudcroft. You can walk to Burro Street and enjoy one of the many fun events which are held in Cloudcroft every year. The house is right at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and borders the national forest. You can literally step across our property line and walk down the hill to the trailhead of the Osha Trail. It is one of the prettiest nature tails you will can find in the region. The trail is 2.7 miles long with a 320 foot vertical gain a gentle hike for all ages. You hike through alpine meadows, aspen groves and thick forest. You can find a variety of wildlife such as deer, elk and wild turkey, even wild mustangs! The views are fantastic. Step inside our cabin and you will immediately see why we chose this perfect setting for our getaway.

What makes this cabin unique

One of the greatest benefits of our cabin is that it is like new and economical to rent. The whole family can enjoy a self contained three bedroom home with kitchen for less than a hotel bed would cost you in most areas. It is located close in to enjoy the Cloudcroft events, yet right next to the beautiful Lincoln National Forest.

Warm, secluded, great covered deck

  • 4 of 5

Trail's End Cabin is warm, surprisingly secluded, and we thoroughly enjoyed the covered deck facing the national forest. The cabin is thoughtfully appointed, nicely updated bathrooms, and the kitchen is great for those who enjoying cooking. The bed in the master bedroom is quite comfortable and the master bedroom is across the great room from the other bedrooms. We also enjoyed the no-fuss fireplace. Within walking distance to town yet a secluded feeling. Plenty of room for a family or several couples. Ample parking. We look forward to visiting again.

Great Time

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed so much this home. It's location was more than perfect with no worry of traffic since it was at the end of the road and so easy to go into Cloudcroft. The deck was perfect along with the kitchen, washer/dryer, everything. Our only issue was the week we were there the temperature was in the 90's with no a/c. Since no one has control over the weather and we survived, we can't hold this against the house!! My aunt who is still there in her camper told us the day after we left, the temperature was back where it should have been and she was sitting by her furnace!! We still give you 5 stars and would certainly return if we should come back and need a large home. Thank you. Jackie and Julia Strebeck, Hickory, Mississippi
