We're offering a 15% discount on bookings til November 30 2016.
We have A/C in all main rooms, one queen size bed in one room and two singles in the other bedroom, TV, DVD player, internet, stove, fridge, toaster, covered outdoor sitting areas front and back of the house, pretty gardens, jungle across the street, and peaceful neighbours and locals. We also offer a direct free phone to the US and Canada only.
The main attraction for this house is its location. Its right across the highway to one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Its a turtle sanctuary and tourists can book evening turtle walks and experience the life cycle of our local turtles. This particular house also has cenotés on both ends of the block. You can easily go for a dip and walk back to the house and dry off in the sun.
The cuisine here is fusion mix of Mexican, Mayan, North American, European and is very fresh. There are beach bars, restaurants, ruins, snorkeling, diving, sailing, fishing, spas, resorts, adventure parks, cenotes, lagoons and just about anything to keep you going.
On the flip side, the community is also very quiet. If you're looking for something different than a resort vacation, you can save money and experience an authentic visit to Mexico. The community is very much in the heart of the Mayan Riviera. Its close to Playa Del Carmen, Akumal, Tulum, Coba and if you care to venture a little further, to Valladolid, Merida and Progresso.
If you walk down the streets of Chan Chemuyil expect friendly faces to say hello and even invite you for a sit down and beer. Its a very relaxed and peaceful place to kick off your flip flops and chill.
The neighbouring village of Chemuyil is a nice place to go for a walk. At night the town is alive with children playing and people walking around. Often celebrations, weddings, and festivals abound. Circuses and bull fighting show up as well.
Xcacel beach is only a few minutes walk and you can take some food and drinks with you and sit on the beach all day if you like. The beach is open from 9am to 5pm. They also offer turtle walks in the evenings; you have to go and sign up for that beforehand.
Tulum is a growing town and is full of surprises. They have one of the best beaches in the world and is a must see. The ruins are also close by and is known for being the only seaside Mayan ruins. Get there early and avoid the crowds.
If archaeology is your thing, more ruins can be found in Muyil, Coba, Ek Balam and of course Chichen Itza. Cost to get in is usually very minimal. Having a car is very useful but you can also do tours if you opt out of getting a car.
Having a car here is not necessary. Collectivos (shuttle vans) run up and down the highway carrying passengers from Tulum to Playa del Carmen and back again. You can step out onto the highway and catch one easily. Rates are cheap and you can get around without a car.
Akumal is very close and offers great swimming and snorkeling. The bay is teaming with turtles during the Summer and Fall months. Yal Ku is a lagoon that's protected and is also a great snorkeling excursion. You can visit beach restaurants like La Buena Vida and Lol Ha and enjoy breathtaking views while munching on local cuisine and drinks.
Theme parks like Xel-ha are very close and offer an all inclusive setting for the day. Once in, your food and drinks are free and you can walk around the lagoon, or go for an inner tube float down the mangroves, zip line over the water, swim and snorkel and see all the tropical fish in the lagoon.
Be sure to go to places like Solomon Bay and have lunch on the beach at the end of the road. Fresh sea food taken right from the bay is cooked and served on the beach in between palm trees for shade and an amazing view of the bay.
Tankah Bay also has some interesting features like Casa Cenote. Cenotes are one of the unique features of this area. Basically sink holes, the underground water system is practically all connected in some way or another along the entire Yucatan peninsula. The water in the cenotes near the ocean tend to be a tad salty as the water mixes between the two bodies of water but is not as salty as the ocean.
There are services offered here that may interest some tourists such as yoga, massage, diving, cave diving, the list goes on.
Feel free to contact us for more information.
Great location to visit all the Riviera Maya as to offer. Quiet village, great beach and cenotes only short walks away. Owner Bijan is very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Will definitely refer and come back in this area. Car is recommended but not necessary
The house was comfortable during our one month stay. The house has everything we needed to cook everyday. The wifi was a hit and miss but it was available everyday with some interruptions. I would recommend that families with small children who are staying for a long time make sure to have a rental car. If you don't have a car, the nearest grocery stores and restaurants are about a 20 minute walk to the village which can be hard to do with small children if the weather is too hot. Also, it would be a problem to carry your clothes all the way to the local laundry place in Chemuyil if you don't have a car, so you will have to hand wash it and hang it to dry. Luckily the house next door was not being used so we used their clothes line.
The local village has good food stands in the morning and we tried a couple of the restaurants in the evening. The location is great because it is central to many great beaches, parks and ruins.
The house was great and comfortable. The owner lives nearby and gave us great tips on where to go and what to see. The beach across the highway is amazing and it's proximity is very attractive.
The local village is very clean with friendly locals and inexpensive places to eat. You can get your laundry done there and buy groceries and beer.
Tulum is only fifteen minutes away and there awesome beaches there too. Lots of great place to eat there too.
The address is very peaceful and safe. Lots of residents here that are friendly and welcoming. There are two cenotes nearby and are perfect for cooling down or rinsing off after the beach.
We will return. Great alternative to resorts and hotels. You've got a summer place here all year round. The house is small so a family of four is perfect. Thanks for everything we loved it.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for one week in February. We especially enjoyed the privacy and laying in our hammocks in the front covered porch area every morning and evening. We also had a daily routine of cooling off in the cenote down the street. The owner was very helpful and always available if we needed anything. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a quite and relaxing vacation. We will stay here again the next time we visit the area.
Usually, we tend to stay in hotels when we travel, but staying in this house was such a treat. This house was very clean, and the owner was friendly and helpful. The cenote on the street is just amazing, we went for a dip every morning. The beach is walking distance, and its so beautiful it looks like a post card. The town near by is filled with friendly locals and has great restaurants we went to often. We enjoyed snorkeling with the turtles in Akumal bay, and did lots of scuba diving with a great instructor from the village. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting mexico. Much better than staying in all inclusive. Thank you so much for having us!!! We will be back.
We have done lots and lots of all-inclusives and have visited some wonderful places with great services.
This vacation, however, was better than we ever could have imagined!! Our little casa was absolutely perfect: clean, homey, relaxing, all amenities, safe and secure, great location in the middle of the jungle but close to a beautiful little village with authentic Mayan food and shops and friendly people, Xcacel beach, Playa del Carmen, Tulum ruins, Akamuyl beach, fresh-water cenotes, and on and on. The owner of the casa came by to welcome us the morning after our arrival and was very friendly, helpful and hospitable without being intrusive at all. He also gave us lots of great information prior to our arrival so we would know what to expect, where to go, how to get around, etc.
We walked thru a beautiful jungle path for 5 minutes to the edge of the highway where we hopped on and off of collectivos (white taxi vans) to take us to all of our destinations for $2 - $5 per trip...it was so awesome!! We saw and experienced so much culture and learned so much about the real Mexico and it's local people.
Thank you so much for everything...we had such an amazing adventure...off the beaten path!!
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
