Privacy and intimacy, with easy access to a white, sandy beach….yet able to accommodate a crowd!
Dos Sols Villa is 50 yards from the water, adjacent to the horseshoe-shaped beach at Little Leverick Bay and excellent, undiscovered snorkeling. A unique architectural design clusters separate bedroom cottages surrounding a heated (winter months) freshwater pool. Your family and friends gather and relax in the Main Villa, on the large covered verandah or the pool deck. When you are ready to retire for the night or desire a little quiet time, simply retreat to the privacy and intimacy of your separate air-conditioned bedroom cottage.
John and Nici first honeymooned on Virgin Gorda in 1987. They fell in love with this gem of an island and built their dream home away from home. Residents of Montana, John and Nici take great pleasure in introducing visitors to their adopted island of Virgin Gorda and sharing their villa to like-minded adventure-seeking vacationers.
Nici Dobson purchased this villa in 1993
Once we decided to build a home on Virgin Gorda, we carefully explored the the available sites, paying close attention to seasonal temperature variations, prevailing breezes, a proximity to beaches and boating access. Little Leverick Bay is on the other side of a rocky point, separating it from Leverick Bay resort and marina - this blocks any potential noise from the marina, yet we are only a 5 minute walk from 'civilization'. The due north orientation overlooking the North Sound provided constant easterly Trade winds, making Dos Sols cooler in the summer than locations on the south end of the island.
The sleepy, residential aspect of Little Leverick Bay and its public white sandy beach with spectacular snorkeling sold us! Nici is an avid windsurfer and loves to be able to zoom back and forth from Little Leverick Bay to the flats and reef off Moskito Island. John loves to be able to hop into the boat right at Leverick Bay and take off for Jost Van Dyke, Anegada or other nearby islands. Nowhere else on Virgin Gorda do you have the combination of beach access, boat access, nearby restaurants, shops, food provisioning, and a giant aquatic playground known as the North Sound - right out the front door! It is no wonder that the rich and famous flock to this part of the island.
I was one of five nurses who were lucky enough to go to Virin Gorda for the week. Our house was awesome. There was enough space that we had the best of two worlds. There was a living area with a porch for together times. WE also had nice bedrooms with bathrooms that provided nice areas for alone time. Hanging out at the pool with a backdrop of the ocean kept reminding us where we were.Food was fairly expensive on the island so being able to cook was a plus for us. We had a grill too!! WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR WEEK .THE ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD, THE WEEK ENDED AND WEHAD TO COME HOME!!
My family usually does our vacations by sailboat, but so many of our other friends and family wanted to join us that this year we decided to do a land/sea adventure and get a house as well. The North Sound of Virgin Gorda has been a favorite spot, so that's where we did our search. We couldn't have made a better choice. We kept the boat at the Leverick Bay Marina/Resort and rented Dos Sols. It was a perfect combination. From the very beginning, the communication with the staff at Virgin Gorda Village rentals and the owner was so easy. They responded quickly to our every inquiry, made arrangements for a rental car and were so helpful when we got there. The house and it's views are spectacular. It is a truly unique property and offered plenty of community space but then the individual rooms provided privacy. I would not recommend it for anyone who has difficulty walking because there are a lot of steps, especially from the Grotto suite, the driveway is very steep and it's quite a walk down to the beach. But, if that isn't a problem for you, you will love this place! I would go back again in a heartbeat - and plan to!!
Our first experience on Virgin Gorda was by Sailboat. We knew then we needed to return for a longer stay so the choice was easy when choosing which island to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation.
Leverick Bay is a great location for ferry access to Saba Rock and the Bitter End. We used a rental car for easy access to everything else. This Villa is in the perfect location! It feels very private yet so close to everything. A short walk to the marina and restaurant. A shorter walk to the beach. The snorkeling was awesome at the point right across the street! The ocean breeze keeps you cool, no need to use the air-conditioning.
The owners are wonderful! Prior to booking, emails were returned promptly. We received information prior to arriving that was helpful for planning the week. We arranged our car rental through their management company who used L&S. Our car was waiting for us at the ferry dock. Not wanting us to get lost in the dark, we were given an escort to follow to Leverick Bay. The villa tour was very thorough. Knowing we were hungry, she called the restaurant so they would not shut down early.
Leverick Bay Marina has everything - Restaurants, Beach Bar, Groceries, Dive shop, boat rental and more.
The pictures do not due this villa justice. It felt like our own home in paradise! For those needing to unwind, the pool and that view are all you need. For those that want to explore, there is so much to do! We all loved the privacy of having separate buildings and balconies. Every room has that beautiful view!
Our favorite activity was renting a 17’ runabout for the day from B&B Charters and Rentals at Leverick Bay. Elaine was very helpful, offering suggestions. We were able to explore ‘The Dogs’ along with entire North Sound.
We had a great vacation on Virgin Gorda. The people are wonderful! They go out of their way to be nice. For example, we made a wrong turn and a young schoolgirl around 12 stopped us to give us directions! We arrived by ferryboat and departed by airplane, leaving the rental car at the airport. Seeing the islands from that altitude was truly memorable. The most difficult part of the whole trip was packing to leave!
We have been traveling to the British Virgin Islands (BVI's) for 20 years. We usually sail, but since we were traveling with 2 other families and one of them needed to work on the trip (needed WiFi), we decided to try renting on the islands instead. Since we knew the islands pretty well, I had no doubt that Leverick Bay was going to be where we searched. Not only is Virgin Gorda, our favorite of all the islands, but we wanted to be able to get to other places and the ferry system and free local ferry to the Bitter End Yacht Club, was a no-brainer. The Villa Dos Sols, was beyond our dreams. There was 8 of us and not only did everyone get their own private spaces, most of us got our own private buildings! The main living space had the most amazing views -- and not to be discounted -- the most incredible breezes ever! We always felt very comfortable--never hot. The villa looks over the bay and even though there was a lovely dining area inside -- we ate almost every night on the expansive patio dining area. It was a dream. The kitchen was beyond fully stocked. There was not a thing missing and we had created gourmet meals almost every night. If we needed anything, the store was a five minute walk away, in Leverick Bay. We rented a car (I highly recommend) and enjoyed checking out every different beach and snorkeling area there was on the island. Of course, we didn't have to go far... about 150 steps (yes, we counted) away was our very own beach and snorkeling area. We even used the steps and driveway through our own gardens and grounds as our very own exercise circuit...how crazy are we! :) And when we were done that we jumped in the pool that overlooked the bay -- WOW, never thought a pool would make a difference but it was a huge plus! If we needed anything...we had service from the most friendly and thoughtful folks in about 5 minutes (and if you know the islands) that is incredible! After a long day of exploring, snorkeling, eating, the movie selection at the villa was outstanding, and we made popcorn and hung out together. We could not say enough about this villa (house) rental-- truly a special place and a great deal for anyone who wants share costs and bring their family and friends on a vacation (and enjoys a bit of privacy as well as group hangouts). Thank you Dos Sols! We will be back...
