We welcome you to our historic cottage dating back to William Penn's daughter's inheritance. Your private guest house is located next to our 4 story stone house, tucked away in a hillside located on 95 acres of rolling farm and wood land.
As you enter this cottage, you will be welcomed by the gas fireplace and an open floor plan of living room kitchen combination area which includes an HDTV, a dining room nook and a fully equipped kitchen which makes in house preparations easy or you can have meals brought in by a local caterer with advance notice. The upstairs loft is surrounded by hand hewn beams and period hardware. Sleep well in your wrought iron king size bed, use your desk with internet accessibility or read in a comfy chair with ottoman.
Enjoy relaxing on the front porch wooden rockers or use the hammocks to read your favorite book. Then go out back and enjoy the walking trail or sit by the fire pit & enjoy smores (ingredients provided). So get away from the noise and busyness of everyday life and come here for some Rest, Relaxation, and be Renewed! We know that writers and artists would also love this picturesque and peaceful setting.

About Roger & Jan Heller
We have lived on our farm for 44 years and have found it to be a wonderful place to raise our 4 children who are now grown. In 2014 we decided to restore this cottage and make it into a guest house and named it Hellers Hillside Hideaway. Our heart is to share our place with others who want to get away! Come and enjoy this quiet and peaceful setting nestled among the beautiful countryside. We will do our best to make your stay a memorable experience.
Roger & Jan Heller purchased this Cottage in 1971

Nice , cozy cottage
Warm and inviting cottage. Hosts were excellent. The little touches added throughout were very nice.
Charming country retreat
The hillside hideaway is absolutely beautiful! The farmland, scenery and cute lodging were just perfect for a snowy weekend. Jan and Roger were so nice to us and met us after dark, since we got held up from the snow and bad roads. Lots of extra touches in the hideaway, to make your stay comfortable. We even had drinks and snack waiting on us in the kitchen; a very thoughtful gesture. The king size bed is so very comfortable, we slept without waking up each night, and the warm ,cozy, gas fireplace adds to the peaceful homey atmosphere. We highly recommend a visit to the hideaway, well worth the trip!
Charming and romantic country cottage
This is a charming and wonderful cottage with much to do in the area. The owners Jan and Roger make you feel like long time friends. We will definitely be back.
Lovely and relaxing...
We stayed at Heller's Hillside Hideaway this past weekend for our 30th wedding anniversary. The cottage is adorable and the hosts have the true gift of hospitality. The location is quiet and peaceful, however town is a quick trip away. If you are looking for a quiet respite from the hustle bustle of life - this is the place. We've stayed many places over the years but this place is at the top for sure.
Great place to stay!
We had a great time at the Heller's. Roger and Jan are exceptionally great hosts. Their farm is very nice and peaceful. We enjoyed the property and trails. The guest house is very cozy and inviting and the Heller's thought of everything when furnishing their place. We had a great time hiking and enjoying a winery in the area. Highly recommend and would definitely return. Thank you!
Thank you so much to Roger and Jan for making our stay in the USA so memorable. The house is an ideal size for two and is very comfortable and well furnished. It lacked nothing. Jan was very generous with her home baking, which was delicious. Never having tried pumpkin cupcakes before we enjoyed them so much that Jan shared her recipe with us. We loved everything about the property, particularly the rockers on the porch. The views were fabulous and the peace and quiet was wonderful. The bed was huge and was so comfortable that we had no problem sleeping after a day in the fresh air. We enjoyed the fire pit making smoores and hotdogs, and chatting comparing American ways to English ones. There was plenty to see and do to keep us occupied for two weeks - particularly finding out about the Amish way of life - and the quilt shops were fabulous! As hosts, Roger and Jan went above and beyond what we expected, and we can highly recommend Heller's Hillside Hideaway as a holiday home from home.
