Great location, clean room, and friendly hosts

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to Bar Harbor to see Acadia and found the location perfect for catching the free shuttle into the park. The house's location made it very easy to walk to Bar Harbor's shops and restaurants. We met the owners of the house who were very welcoming and friendly. During our stay, we used the backyard grill, which was a nice bonus considering the refrigerator for the unit made it easy to store food purchased at the local supermarket. The rental unit is attached to the main house, but since there is no one "above" the roof of the rental, it's very quiet. An AC unit helps keep the unit cool, but we rarely needed it during our stay in late August, as the nights get fairly brisk. The books in the unit came in handy when planning our trips into the national park. The microwave, cooktop, and various cups and cutlery made cooking in fairly easy when we weren't enjoying Bar Harbor's restaurants. Overall, we'd recommend Gone Fishing for friends and family and hope to revisit someday.

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to Bar Harbor to celebrate our 30th anniversary & this place could not have been any better! The home is perfectly located - just minutes from Bar Harbor's Main Street. The suite was clean, well stocked with supplies (paper, soap, bags) and kitchen items. The owners (Jeff & Laura) left a book filled with information and history as well as a delicious, homemade blueberry pie!. We had access to the garden area with a fire pit (which was restocked each time it was used) & a gas grill with outdoor furniture - perfect for morning coffee and evening wine! Jeff & Laura were very sweet and respectful of our privacy. If we go back to Bar Harbor, we will definitely stay here again and have recommend this place to our family and friends.

Perfect Getaway for 2

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable, clean and lovely space for 2. Convenient location within walking distance of Bar Harbor village and minutes to Acadia NP. My husband and I enjoyed our stay here very much and the off street parking was a plus. Our hosts were very friendly, pleasant and welcomed us with homemade blueberry pie (delicious!). We couldn't have asked or a better stay.
