About the property

5 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, large garden and new deck

A four storey house actually in the heart of Broadstairs! We are 350m from Viking Bay and seconds from the High St. The house has been beautifully restored with original fireplaces, double height ceilings, designer furnishings (Feather & Black, Burlington bathroom, Graham and Green, Fired Earth etc) and a kitchen equipped with everything you could need for a truly memorable seaside retreat. Enjoy our new luxury bathroom completed Feb 2018!

In total it has:

- 5 bedrooms (one Superking, three doubles and a twin). Three bedrooms have their own hand basins

- new kitchen with oak worktops, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer and many many pots/ pans and utensils etc to cater for large dinner parties

- 2 baths, 2 showers, 3 toilets including brand new extra long slipper bath and walk in shower

- ground floor front room (two large sofas, two armchairs, two fireside stools)

- formal first floor drawing room (two sofas)

- dining room (sits up to ten)

- large private rear garden with new deck (April 2017), large garden tables, chairs, deckchairs and Weber BBQ

Please see more details of the layout on the floor plan photo.

- Bluetooth speakers

- Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, BBC Iplayer, Sky News

- Board games

- Towels, shampoo, conditioner, showergel, tea and coffee

- Adaptors/ iPhone chargers

- The kitchen has everything you could want as it is our family kitchen rather than a rental.

The station is a five minute walk away with its high speed rail link to St. Pancras. The road is resident parking only but permits can be purchased on the High Street.

The cleaning fee is set to cover linen costs and a light clean only; former guests have appreciated a lower fee rather than the £150 a house of this size would usually merit. A lot of the furniture is antique, and inherited. We can only do this if, when you stay with us, you leave the house in the same condition as you find it.

We generally have a two night minimum stay; this varies according to the time of year but please do contact us to find out more and about special rates. Please note the house is on a residential street, so noise must be kept down in the house and garden after 10pm.

We want you to feel at home. If there is anything you think is missing please do let us know.

We look forward to meeting you.

About CLARE CARPENTER

We grew up in Kent visiting Broadstairs. Our families moved here about fifteen years ago and we have been lucky enough to follow them to the seaside.

Why CLARE CARPENTER chose Broadstairs

Having stayed in a number of large rentals over the years we want to make our home as comfortable as possible so you have a wonderful stay, while reasonably priced. As far as we are aware no other properties with five bedrooms on four floors are as close to Viking Bay (rather than the up and coming areas of Ramsgate or Margate), have genuine sea views or the sheer number of original features our house does in Broadstairs. We looked for over two years to find this property, and hope you love it as much as we do.

What makes this house unique

Panoramic sea views from the formal drawing room and master bedroom plus a private rear garden which is rare this close to the sea, where most properties only have small back courtyards. You can be on the beach in under five minutes!

Comfortable, large family home

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and have many happy memories of our holiday there. It is large enough for a party of 10 and is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and BBQ. Linen and towels are provided, which is really helpful. All rooms have been thoughtfully furnished which makes the property feel comfortable and homely. Plenty of seating in the garden, with a large table and chairs on the decking for dining. The owner was very accommodating and contactable if necessary during our stay. We would definitely book this property again.

A big family home within easy walking distance to the beach.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time here to celebrate a special family occasion. Clare was really helpful and very easy to communicate with, and also gave really good recommendations for local restaurants. It was a great space for us all, young and old, and in a great location. The sun came out and we enjoyed two trips to the lovely beach! Thanks for your help.

Lovely house near the sea

  • 5 of 5

Warm welcome from Clare. The house is beautifully furnished and so convenient for the station and the sea! Clare was very responsive to all messages in the run up to the stay and ensured we were settled in well on arrival. We stayed with a six month old and the house is well equipped with travel cot and high chair, which reduced the hassle enormously. It is as the photos show! Lovely house. Lovely stay. Thank you!

A family week-end

  • 5 of 5

I wanted to share a special birthday with my children and grand-children and this was the perfect house for the occasion. Close to the sea with a magnificent sandy beach so plenty of "letting off steam" time for the little ones. We received a warm welcome from Clare who could't do enough to make sure our stay was very welcoming and comfortable. Her home is a characterful period town house which is very well equipped with everything we needed. We are only sorry that our stay could not have been for longer than a week-end. Thank you Clare and James for a really lovely week-end which I will remember fondly.

We had a great time in this beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 days in this house, 6 adults and 6 kids, and were super comfortable. The house is well suited for families and very close to the beautiful beach.

Charming!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a family mini break over the October half term. The house is full of character and a treat in itself! There are quite a few suggested rules to follow while in the house but with the house being so original its understandable. The view from the top bedroom is lovely! Location was fab, we day tripped to Ramsgate and Margate - both only 15mins away (if that). The only tricky part, for us, was we were a family of 3 car loads so finding parking for 3 cars took a bit time as there isnt much parking outside the house. However the tips from Clare about the 'free' roads to park down found us all parking.

We just want to thank Clare for being such a great host, she always responded so quickly to my messages (no matter how silly the question). We had a great stay!

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to host Hayley and accommodate her requirements. The listing clearly states that, as the house is on a residential road, permits are needed (and are very easy to obtain). While one/ two cars have always been able to park on the road (and 99% of the time 3/4 cars park easily on the road or next road), clearly we cannot guarantee spaces on any given day. Thanks!
