I am originally from a small east Texas town of San Augustine. I was raised on a ranch and was a barrel racer by the age of 9. I have a great appreciation for all animals and anything outdoors. I was a high school history and psychology teacher. I quit teaching and became a serial entrepreneur. I have been self employed for most of my adult life. It seems that I really like to sell things ( it makes me high). Some of my businesses consisted of selling imprinted sportswear to schools as well as hand painted wall murals. For the last five years, I have taught onsite CPR and First Aid to company employees and schools. I now live in Galveston, Texas and enjoy entertaining and the beauty of the Gulf Coast. This property is in a beautiful upscale neighborhood with tree lined streets in the heart of Montrose near downtown Houston. It is artsy and hip in every way. The architecture is 1920s red brick mixed with the current new styles of urban structures. So many attractions are in walking distance such as restaurants, wine bars, coffee bars ,bakeries, antique shopping, and Allen Parkway ( a beautiful park for walking, running, biking, and dog walking). Theaters and Museums are literally 5 minuets away. The neighborhood is quiet with many long time residents walking their dogs in early mornings and late afternoon. The location of this property is so wonderful because you are always driving against the traffic and you can jump on every freeway in minuets.

Lovely little house in a great neighborhood.
Quite neighborhood. Convenient parking. Excellent restaurants nearby. Great value. Centrally located. Who could ask for more?
Clean and comfortable!
Very clean, comfortable place to stay, enjoyed taking walks throughout the neighborhood. It was 10 minutes from all the things we needed and wanted to do. Wished there was offstreet parking which I didn't realize till I had already booked.
Sweet little guesthouse
Overall, I would say that our stay was positive. The location is wonderful, on a quiet street just 2 blocks from the main drag in Montrose. The decor in the unit was very nice. We walked to restaurants, church, the bars. There is a significant mildew odor in the unit, which improved after we ran the air conditioning but never went away. I'm not allergic but it might be difficult for someone who is. There was no toilet paper in the unit at all when we arrived that evening so we had to go out for it the next day.
I don't know what happened that there was no toilet paper. I apologize and will address this with the house keeper. That is terrible and I apologize.
As for the mold smell, I visited shortly after you left and I smelled it too and found out where it was coming from and had the roofer come out and fix the source of the problem and killed the mold area and that took care of that. I try very hard to get 5 stars everytime and make it a perfect place to stay. Please come back again.
Loved the location, walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants and the neighborhood was very charming and quiet. The decor was very Bohemian and cool. Would have preferred a bed that had a little more support on the middle for 2 people. Overall the stay was very nice!
The casita was the perfect size for us. Very conveniently located to all events we were attending. It is well-appointed, comfortable, accessible, and close to restaurants and grocery stores. We would definitely stay here again!
La Casita is a comfy home away from home
We stayed at La Casita while visiting our children in Houston. It is in a great location and wonderful neighborhood. We felt comfortable walking back at night. There are good restaurants within walking distance. We found La Casita to be comfortable and well supplied. Internet worked well. We look forward to out next stay.

Travelers pay when they book the casita. Credit cards will be taken by phone or sent via Square Credit Card service unless other arrangements are made. VERY IMPORTANT: Guests cannot park, unload, or load the driveway because this is for the tenants for the big house. Guest that do this can be charged their $300 deposit and or towed at owners expense. Cancelation Policy: Guest must cancel 10 days in advance in order to get a full refund. Less than 7 days you will require a forfeit 50% of the reservation amount. The tenants in the big house come and go and or restricted from moving when people park behind them.
