A 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the very popular A-bay for swimming, snorkeling, walking and watching the occasional green sea turtle sunning itself!

Or rent a car and this becomes the ideal place to base your exploration of the Big Island! Your rental car will have its own parking space. Sample championship golf outside the Resort. Drive up the Kohala Coast through beautiful lava fields and ranch land to the north shore for whale watching from the shore and shopping in quaint towns like Hawi. Take Saddle Road to the other side of the island to Hilo and explore breath-taking waterfalls, Old Hilo, Hilo Bay, Kilauea volcano, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut visitor center. Be sure to visit Kailua-Kona's big box shops (Target, Walmart, Costco…) and restaurants along the bay. Venture south from Kailua-Kona and visit the Painted Church, the Place of Refuge and South Pointe. You can charter deep sea fishing and whale watching, from December to May usually. About Kona Coast Vacations - SL

Aloha and welcome to the Big Island. We are thankful to Hawaii and its peoples for allowing us to work and play on this great island.

Kona Coast Vacations manages over 170 condos, homes and estates along the leeward (dry and sunny) side of the Big Island ( this island is named Hawaii, same name as the State). We are located right in Kailua Kona which is about 10 minutes south of the KOA (Kona) international airport. Most people include Kailua Kona, Keauhou, Kahaluu, and Holualoa, under the umbrella of the name Kona. We also have team members living near the resort area ( about 25 minutes north of the airport) which include Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani, Hali'i Kai, Waikoloa Beach Resort (near the coast), Waikoloa Village (up mountain, about 15 minutes from the coast), etc.

Our team of inspectors check the property before your arrival, after you depart, and we inspect the cleaners. If something is amiss, please let us know immediately on arrival and we will address your concerns ASAP. We are open seven days a week to assist guests and owners. We offer a concierge service, we have maps and recommendations on our web site and are here to answer your questions.

Kona Coast Vacations has been rated excellent by Trip Advisor in 2013 and 2014, and it appears Trip Advisor only offers ratings now, and we are sitting at 4.5/5.0 based on all the reviews since 2009. We were voted the "Best Vacation Rental Agency" for 2015 and 2016- Best of Hawai'i - Lei Niho Palaoa Awards. We credit these great ratings to our reservations, maintenance and inspection team. Whether you stay with us or with another host, we hope you enjoy the Big Island of Hawaii and experience the Aloha Spirit. Very nice condo, well decorated and fully equipped

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed staying at this unit. It is large and spacious with lots of windows. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped, and we enjoyed cooking in a couple of nights. There are two gas grills nearby, which we took advantage of. The condo and neighborhood was also very quiet which we very much appreciated.

One major complaint - the dryer was a big problem. Made terrible noises and it turns out it ruined a couple items of our clothing. We called maintenance, and someone came out the next day and told us not use it anymore since a new part needed ordering. It would have been nice if the previous renters had informed management about the problem so it could have been fixed before we checked in. I am surprised that the cleaning crew would not have been aware, especially if they use the washer / dryer to clean towels. It should have been reported.

Beyond that, all else was good. Response from tech support for the internet connection was great and we had no issues after an initial hiccup. Very friendly and very professional.

Location wise, we also appreciated being not too far for a pleasant walk to the beach for sunsets. Waikoloa is a beautiful resort area with quite a bit of housing diversity options. We were happy with our choice and would return in the future. We will likely opt for an ocean view place next time, rather than being on the golf course.

Big Island Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome time at the Waikoloa Colony Villas 504. The directions to the unit were very precise and accurate. The unit is spacious and backs onto a golf course. Some things to know are the unit is in a gated community. We had some difficulty initially entering the code at the gate for entry. We arrived late at night and the lighting was very dim. The instructions said the gate code is key sign ######, where ###### is the numeric entry code. I did not realize that the key pad actually had a key at the lower right of the key pad which was the key sign. I only entered the numeric entry code, which initiated a phone call to an invalid number and the recovery from this entry was about a minute for each attempt. Someone eventually came along and let us in to the community with their code. In the daylight the following morning, I could see the 'key sign' on the gate key pad. One other item to note is that both bedrooms are upstairs in case you have lots of heavy luggage as we did. The unit has central air conditioning and is located about 30 minutes north of the airport.

I would highly recommend this unit.

Excellent Stay!!! I already recommended this Condo

  • 5 of 5

Excellent Stay! Every year we plan an annual family trip before the kids go back to school. My family stayed at The Hilton Waikoloa Village and my husband & I and father stayed in this darling condo. The condo had everything we needed; air conditioning, wifi & cable, large kitchen, beautiful views and washer/dryer etc. The highlighted features that were a huge bonus; short and easy walking distance to The Hilton Waikoloa Village and store, this condo complex has the best pool & hot tub and gym (we only saw a few people using these features during our full week stay). Super cool experience.....the landscapers were cleaning up the coconut palm trees and there were large coconuts everywhere, they let me take as many as I wanted and I learned how to cut open a young coconut. It was so easy and we had fresh cold coconut water all week. I highly recommend this condo and vacation rental company. Thank you for a fabulous stay and we will be back next year for sure!!!
