About Robert Grant
We were both born, raised, educated, and built our careers in Maine. We love all aspects of the state with its mountains, where we ski, the lakes where we enjoy kayaking, fishing and camping. Our son and his family live in Michigan. We are both retired and look forward to seeing more of them. You can see our dog Cappy in some of the pictures as he is our shadow. We enjoy dining in the many superb restaurants in the area. We love to entertain which is why this house appealed to us 35 years ago. The backyard is very inviting with blueberry bushes, a grape vine, apple and pear tree. We have a male and female Cardinal that spend the most of their day at our feeders as well as a host of Maine birds, squirrels and chipmunks.
Robert Grant purchased this House in 1983
Why Robert Grant chose North Deering
We purchased this property thinking we would make improvements, redecorate and sell it but after spending a few years in it we loved its personality and the location was so perfect we decided to do additional improvements and stay. We still cannot believe how private it is while being so close to all things exciting and delicious. We love to eat our warm weather meals on the screened in porch with the pool and the porch lit up at night. We feel like we are in the country, yet we are just 10 minutes from the center of Portland. It is prime location with easy access to all of southern Maine and even two hours to Boston. The train is 10 minutes away too!
What makes this House unique
Each person who visits us for the first time is very surprised at the interior size compared to what they expected when seeing it from the front. Many rooms have been altered and improved upon over the years. The home is now at a point where the word predictable is not used to describe it. The backyard is totally secluded so it too is a pleasant surprise for first time visitors. The private back yard with large deck and pool gives one a nice option for relaxing and sun bathing without feeling as though you need to go to the beach.

Beautiful, clean and close to Casco Bay and Portland
Beautiful home! Kids loved the pool. Had everything we could have wanted.
Great place to stay in the Greater Portland area!
Great house. Nice layout, with room to spread out. Beautiful pool, well-stocked kitchen. Ample parking and a really nice, central location.
Stunning house, an adventure in itself. Perfect location. Very well appointed.
Only issue was the single shower for the 5 of us.
So happy your vacation was a success!
The reality of one shower, although noted on the website, can be a challenge if all in the group needs to get ready to go somewhere without anticipating the timeframe required to if everyone needs to shower.
Great stay in Maine
The house was as advertised , Good location to visit beaches and Portland. Nice secluded backyard with big pool unheated but warmer than the ocean. Fuly stocke dkitchen. Great lobster place just around the corner with Linda Kate Seafood . Had them steam us lobsters tried the clam chowder and the lobster tacos. Could eat there food daily.
Would recommend their property to anyone who wants to visit Portland area
Comfortable Good Family Getaway Home
Very comfortable and clean. Our dog LOVED the fenced in yard. Plenty of room to run. Unfortunately, the pool was just too chilly for us to swim in the way we wished we could have but it was a great week in Maine!
Thank you for reviewing your stay at our home Johanna. With the cold and rainy spring this year it has been a challenge to have warmer water temperatures but we're glad you had a great vacation!
Bob and Bonnie
Welcoming home with everything you need!
My fiancé and I couldn't have enjoyed this home more! The pool is a gem and it was extremely clean and warm(for Maine). The screened in porch was a great space for the night, but still have that outside feeling. The location was also a plus for us, as it was a nice retreat away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Portland(which is less then 10 minutes away). Can't wait to go back! Thanks again Bonnie and Bob!!
Thank you for selecting our home for your vacation Laura. It was our pleasure having you and we certainly appreciated how well you took care of the property!
