About Bob and Heidi Kaminski
My husband I both grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We purchased this dream home together and were married on the property in 2001 in front of more than 200 guests.
Bob and Heidi Kaminski purchased this House in 2001
Why Bob and Heidi Kaminski chose Spring Lake Township

Great house for a great vacation!
The beach is beautiful and the house is lovely and has everything one would need. We’d come again!
Beautiful property. Convenient location. Would stay here again without hesitation.
We had an enjoyable stay. We had six adults and three children. The home was spacious and equipped with everything we needed.
Summerset Lake Michigan Beach Memories – Can we stay another week?
We heard this from our grandchildren throughout the week. Our extended family stay at Summerset was more than we could have imagined & the only negative was that it had to come to an end.
Plenty of room! We never felt in each other’s way. Bedrooms provided ample sleeping accommodations. We brought a pack-n-play & used a twin air mattress at Summerset for two children. Décor, beds, linens, pillows, bath & hand towels & wash clothes are high quality!
The house doesn’t have A/C, but with open windows, cross-ventilation and fans, we didn’t miss it. Two unseasonably hot days just meant adding a couple more fans to the mix. The rest of the week, lake breezes cooled the house down nicely & sometimes chilly enough for a blanket. You’re at the beach…why would you want to be cooped up in A/C?
Dream kitchen! The only thing we had to bring was food. Plenty of room for multiple cooks in the kitchen. Fully appointed with EVERYTHING - small appliances, updated large appliances, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, serving bowls, platters & more. Dining table and counter provided seating for 10-12.
The beach is just a short walk from the house. We were the only ones there most days & evening sunsets. The beach is clean & water shallow enough for everyone to enjoy. Local residents & other renters we met were extremely friendly. Sand castles, boogie boarding & long walks on the beach were frequent. North Beach Park is about half a mile up the road if a larger beach is preferred. After beach time, we hosed off excess sand at the house & there was plenty to do to burn off excess energy before dinner - foosball, riding bikes or playing bocce ball in the very large yard.
Summerset’s 3 decks are spacious, well equipped with furniture & we used them endlessly! Morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner & Lake Michigan sunsets. The views from the decks are amazing & the lake breezes refreshing! The 3rd floor deck with lounge chairs makes a nice, quiet afternoon nap get-away.
Location a plus! Plenty to do in Grand Haven – Musical Fountain, Imagination Station for children & Miss Lisa’s ice cream! Holland is a short trip south & Silver Lake Sand Dunes & Ludington short drives to the North. We fit in trips to all these towns & were still back in time for dinner & sunsets from our deck & beach.
Summerset - a high-class vacation home I would recommend without reservation.
Thank you Heidi & Bob for making our first VRBO experience such a memorable one.
We're delighted you enjoyed your visit and we hope to have your family back to Summerset again!

Great location and nice house
For not being on the beach, you couldn't ask for a better location. It is a short walk across the street and down a path to the beach. There were few people on the beach because many of the houses are owner occupied and most only there on the weekend; and there is no parking for others to come to this stretch of beach. There is a park 1/2 mile down the road if you want a bigger beach, swings, etc but we never felt the need. You also have to realize that Michigan beaches can be pretty narrow but our spot was fine and many days we had the beach to ourselves.
The house was fine for 6 adults and 2 young kids. There were lots of toys, beach stuff and bikes in the house in case you didn't have some of your own. There are several decks and a yard big enough for bocci ball or corn hole, games we had. One note is that there is no central air but there are lots of fans. The weather cooled off most nights so it wasn't an issue, which is probably the norm.
The kitchen is well equipped and worked fine since we made most of our dinners at the house. One inconvenience was if everyone wanted to shower at the same time you need to take turns since we did lose water pressure a couple of times.
Overall, it was a very good vacation
So glad you enjoyed the week! The North Shore is a special place and we hope to have you return as a guest.

Wonderful Vacation Home with Lake Michigan access!
Our extended family just returned from a week at this amazing cottage. We have selected different "cottages" over the past 4 summers on Lake Michigan and this was by far the nicest as far as living space goes! We had grand parents and two adult children with their children and the cottage accommodated all families perfectly. The home had everything one needs except the food to begin the vacation! We did not really need to bring anything extra at all!
Everything was in great condition and high class. Furniture, beds, bedding and linens were comfortable and plentiful. The kitchen had anything you could possible need! Plenty of eating and cooking space!
There are three decks to view the lake from and to eat and play cards. The third story deck off the master bedroom was perfect for viewing the wonderful Lake Michigan sunsets! The home was perfect for us!
The beach was beautiful. It is a little hike from home to beach and through sandy train and down some steps ( 3-4 minute walk). Lake Michigan beaches fluctuate daily so one never knows how much beach front there will be but the access had an area cut out that was enough for everyone and far enough from the water to enjoy. Beach is clean, water is shallow enough but gets deeper so good for everyone. Clean, refreshing water!
Bikes, beach chairs, rafts etc were all available.
Grand Haven is a great little beach town and we enjoyed the Pronto Pups, State Park, Playground at the Y, and shopping.
If our lives permit, we would like to return to this amazing cottage. Bob and Heidi were wonderful and all questions etc were answered promptly.
Our first VRBO experience was a 10!
Thank you for a wonderful family week!

Great House in Great Location
We have rented from Bob and Heidi for several years and have always enjoyed our stay at their beautiful house.
This is a great location for renters with small children as it is a short walk down to the private deeded beach access and the garage is well stocked with beach toys, bikes, and floats. it also has a large, secluded real grass yard, which is a special bonus in this beach area, for kids to play and burn off energy.
Our dealings with Bob and Heidi have all been positive and the neighbors have always been very welcoming and accommodating.
Our home is located on the North Shore of Grand Haven with deeded access to a private, sandy Lake Michigan beach. You get the best of both worlds -- quiet, beautiful dunes and beaches, yet just a 10 minute drive from the bustle of downtown Grand Haven.
