This contemporary home has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Sunset Views at Summerset is a tri-level home which features an open floor plan, three decks and offers unmatched views of Lake Michigan and its spectacular sunsets. It is located on the North Shore of Grand Haven with deeded access to a private, sandy Lake Michigan beach. You’re just 100 yards from dipping your toes in the water! You get the best of both worlds -- quiet, beautiful dunes and beaches, yet just a 10 minute drive from downtown Grand Haven, which features quaint shops and restaurants. Plus a large grass lawn perfect for a game of croquet or volleyball. We have beds for 8 people plus two double air mattresses for the first floor bedroom.
The third floor is home to the Master Bedroom and Bath, and features maple flooring, a Queen bed, tile shower, double sink and jacuzzi tub. This floor also features a North deck and private South deck perfect for sunset watching.
The second floor is home to an open kitchen/dining/sitting area that features a leather coach, dining room table that seats 8, and island that seats 4. French doors open onto a deck with additional seating for 4 and a grill so you can socialize while you cook. The kitchen is fully appointed with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, convection oven, gas stove top, blender, mixer, crock pots, waffle maker, electric griddle, cookware, bakeware, barware and basic spices. The living room features a television with AT&T U-verse, stereo, gas fireplace and ample seating. Two bedrooms are located on this floor -- one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds, as well as a full bath.
The first floor features another full bath, laundry room with over-sized washer and dryer, and a large bedroom/recreation room with a Queen bed, television with AT&T U-verse, and a fusbol table. This room offers space for air mattresses to expand the sleeping space from 8 (beds) to 12 (+4 kids) -- many of our renters make this the kid's crash pad!
Other Amenities: There is a four-stall garage and ample parking for four vehicles max and we've provided bikes, beach chairs and beach toys for our guests' enjoyment. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom linens also are provided, but bring your own beach towels!

About Bob and Heidi Kaminski
My husband I both grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We purchased this dream home together and were married on the property in 2001 in front of more than 200 guests.
Bob and Heidi Kaminski purchased this House in 2001
Why Bob and Heidi Kaminski chose Grand Haven
After searching the lake shore from Saugatuck to North Muskegon, we decided on this home because of its unmatched Lake Michigan views, an open floor plan that's ideal for entertaining, and is just 100 yards away from a private, deeded Lake Michigan beach.
What makes this House unique
The home has three separate decks and a large grass lawn that's ideal for a game of croquet or volleyball.

Great location and nice house
For not being on the beach, you couldn't ask for a better location. It is a short walk across the street and down a path to the beach. There were few people on the beach because many of the houses are owner occupied and most only there on the weekend; and there is no parking for others to come to this stretch of beach. There is a park 1/2 mile down the road if you want a bigger beach, swings, etc but we never felt the need. You also have to realize that Michigan beaches can be pretty narrow but our spot was fine and many days we had the beach to ourselves.
The house was fine for 6 adults and 2 young kids. There were lots of toys, beach stuff and bikes in the house in case you didn't have some of your own. There are several decks and a yard big enough for bocci ball or corn hole, games we had. One note is that there is no central air but there are lots of fans. The weather cooled off most nights so it wasn't an issue, which is probably the norm.
The kitchen is well equipped and worked fine since we made most of our dinners at the house. One inconvenience was if everyone wanted to shower at the same time you need to take turns since we did lose water pressure a couple of times.
Overall, it was a very good vacation
So glad you enjoyed the week! The North Shore is a special place and we hope to have you return as a guest.

Wonderful Vacation Home with Lake Michigan access!
Our extended family just returned from a week at this amazing cottage. We have selected different "cottages" over the past 4 summers on Lake Michigan and this was by far the nicest as far as living space goes! We had grand parents and two adult children with their children and the cottage accommodated all families perfectly. The home had everything one needs except the food to begin the vacation! We did not really need to bring anything extra at all!
Everything was in great condition and high class. Furniture, beds, bedding and linens were comfortable and plentiful. The kitchen had anything you could possible need! Plenty of eating and cooking space!
There are three decks to view the lake from and to eat and play cards. The third story deck off the master bedroom was perfect for viewing the wonderful Lake Michigan sunsets! The home was perfect for us!
The beach was beautiful. It is a little hike from home to beach and through sandy train and down some steps ( 3-4 minute walk). Lake Michigan beaches fluctuate daily so one never knows how much beach front there will be but the access had an area cut out that was enough for everyone and far enough from the water to enjoy. Beach is clean, water is shallow enough but gets deeper so good for everyone. Clean, refreshing water!
Bikes, beach chairs, rafts etc were all available.
Grand Haven is a great little beach town and we enjoyed the Pronto Pups, State Park, Playground at the Y, and shopping.
If our lives permit, we would like to return to this amazing cottage. Bob and Heidi were wonderful and all questions etc were answered promptly.
Our first VRBO experience was a 10!
Thank you for a wonderful family week!

Great House in Great Location
We have rented from Bob and Heidi for several years and have always enjoyed our stay at their beautiful house.
This is a great location for renters with small children as it is a short walk down to the private deeded beach access and the garage is well stocked with beach toys, bikes, and floats. it also has a large, secluded real grass yard, which is a special bonus in this beach area, for kids to play and burn off energy.
Our dealings with Bob and Heidi have all been positive and the neighbors have always been very welcoming and accommodating.
Beach house memories, Lake breeze on the deck
We have been fortunate to spend 2 weeks in July here for past several years--wonderful home, bright open floor plan, beautifully decorated yet homey and comfortable--all the best of beach living. A short walk across the street to private Lake Michigan beach area, then when you've had enough sun and surf, you can rinse the sand off your feet in the driveway and relax in comfort on one of the spacious decks. The 3 decks are fabulous, well equipped with chairs, allowing you all hours of sun and shade as desired, cool breezes, glorious Michigan sunsets. Kitchen/dining area offers formal seating for entire family, but our favorite spot is the large kitchen island, perfect for setting up appetizers and drinks while the burgers or steaks are cooking on adjoining deck gas grill. Heidi and Bob are the most responsive owners we have ever dealt with in our years of lake-living rentals, and they take such care to be sure the home is pristine with everything in great working order, so all you have to do is sit back and relax. Would recommend this property with no reservations.
