Very cute little house with stunning views and hugely peaceful and tranquil.
I really enjoyed being here, it’s a really cute place and in a wonderful location. A few improvements would make it better - loved the outdoor kitchen but difficult to cook after dark as there was no lighting for it. The indoor kitchen is a little challenging as there isn’t a great deal of work space but it’s very well equipped. Overall a great experience.
Beautiful view to the sea, but quite isolated....
The view is everything here, and you don't see this in so many places. The sea in the front and mountains in the back. That was what attracted us to the house. From the pictures and information on the webside we had the impression that there was a small beach nearby. That is not the case. You have to drive quite a long way on a road meant for off-roaders also when you go for the village. That was our main problem. We had young people with us and this was not practical at all because they felt isolated and we had to transport them. The house is ok, nothing less nothing more! It is small and dark, and not suited for 6 people - 4 is more suitable and one of the two bedrooms is only 2x2,5 m with an elevation bed - a little poor we thought. The management of the house is warm and friendly. If you have problems with water or gas they show up at once to help. So again the view is superb, it is isolated and the house is too small for 6 people.
Someone here wrote about mosquitoes being a problem. We didn't observe that at all. But in the summer the place is extremely hot, with no beach or pool so you have to go somewhere every day. We packed weekend bags and took some nights elsewhere near pool or beach and that was a good combination. The wifi is great and there is no phonesignal near the house. Hope it was usefull information to consider.
Nice quiet & secluded
Lovely villa, outstanding views & quiet rural location, car is an absolute requirement & would highly recommend.
I recommend this property to everybody!
Stunning location, nice rooms.
We’ve been welcomed by a man (very pleasant, even if he doesn’t speak english) and we made a tour of Sicily that left us happy.
Beaches, restaurants, views, food… great!
Amazing Villa and setting!
This house is simply amazing. Every detail is elegant with a light touch of rustic, typical of sicilian tradition.
The house is comfortable enough and of course I have to talk about the amazing outdoor space: sunbeds, armchairs, everything makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. The view is astonishing.
Here you can live a holiday in very close contact with nature and its beauty.
I loved not only the villa but Sicily too, with its tradition, the cordiality of its people and its sea.
Cosy little cottage with view to die for!
We spent two weeks in this cosy little cottage. The house is situated in a row along the rocky coast and although there are a few neigbouring houses, the environment is very peaceful. The house itself isn't very big (although it's very functional), but for a party of six, it would be getting crowded. Anyway for a family of four, it was perfect. The beautiful shaded terrace is a treat and we spent hours there just gazing at the sea and watching boats go by.
Regarding the rental proces and our stay , both the manager and the caretaker were very helpful. I had asked in advance for two extra sun loungers and that was taken care for. The caretaker - although only speaking Italian - was so kind to bring a new umbrella the next day when I noticed that the old one was broken (it sometimes gets very windy).
There is a small path through the garden that leads to the sea and some steps will bring you to a private "beach" by the sea. However, a few steps where missing and we had to climb over the rocks. That wasn't a problem for us, but I wouldn't recommend this with smaller children (for children the sandy beach of San Vito is only a five minutes drive away).
The house is located very close to the Zingaro natural reserve that is certainly worth a visit (we went two times on a very early morning walk and found the beautiful coves deserted ...).
Conclusion: we had a marvellous holiday and I would really recommend this house.
San Vito Lo Capo is a nice beach town located between striking mountains that surround the enchanting light-blue bay and protect it from sea storms. Its ever quiet crystalline sea and its long white sandy beach have made San Vito Lo Capo the most important bathing resort in Sicily, so that tourism has become its first resource. For this reason, the picturesque harbour village has increased its network of pubs, restaurants, bars, hotels, craft shops in the last years, enhancing its culinary traditions to the utmost, too. Couscous and “caldo-freddo” ( a special sweet which mixes cold ice-cream with hot chocolate cream) have become inseparable couples linked to the name of San Vito Lo Capo; everyone who comes here can’t go away without tasting them!
THE NATURAL RESERVE OF ZINGARO
People who prefer rocks to sand can visit other beautiful places both to the east and west sides of San Vito beach, where a breathtaking sight waits for them with its uncontaminated sea bottom with coralline formation and colorful vegetation. Among these places, the most renowned one is the “NATURAL RESERVE OF ZINGARO”, which stretches along about seven kilometers of unspoilt coastline. Here you can admire a large variety of plants and a rich fauna which you will rarely find in other parts of the island. The natural reserve does not only encompass the clear blue sea and the coast, but also a complex network of paths, shelters and other amenities.
The most important event that calls a lot of people not only from Sicily is the 'COUS COUS FEST”, an international festival of culture and gastronomy of the Mediterranean where cookers from several countries defy each other in cooking couscous, according to their own traditions. The cuisine race is matched with shows, concerts and various performances. Since 1998, it has taken place in September.
Another interesting event is the “INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL” , which takes place in May. It is a unique event in its genre, an exciting show in which the limpid sea and the wonderful sandy beach of San Vito Lo Capo blend the colorful sky creating a suggestive scenery. Joining together creativity, play and nature contact, artists from all over the world meet here and perform their “soft-kites” in free flights and acrobatic exhibition.
