Fantastic place to stay
The place was absolutely perfect. Great South Philly location. Would definitely stay again. Owner was extremely responsive from start to finish and a joy to work with.
Thanks so much! It was great to host you!
Great South Philly Experience!
Place was as described, clean and nicely decorated. The owner was awesome to work with and she was very helpful offering suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Johns Roast Pork down the street OMG!!
Great Option in South Philly!
I was in town for a recent conference at the convention center with a few co-workers. The house was perfect for what we needed, exactly as described, and very clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was well-equipped, which was great news for me, since I prefer to cook breakfast for myself when I can, rather than having to go out to a restaurant first thing in the morning). The living spaces were nice and bright, and it was conveniently-located near good dining and shopping options.
One of the things that we all noticed was how little sound "bled" through from upstairs to downstairs. We had a guy sleeping on the couch in the living room, and he said he couldn't hear anything from upstairs, and when some were trying to sleep upstairs, they commented that they didn't hear the TV and conversations from below. All of this is a good thing if you've got a group of people who may not all be on the same schedule. The bed I slept in was quite comfortable, but I can't say anything about the others. The rooms were small (it is a row house in South Philly, after all), but not at all cramped. The listing states that it sleeps 6-8 comfortably, and I'd definitely agree with that.
We had a car with us, but basically left it parked all week. We were able to Uber to/from the conference events without any trouble, for an average of less than $10/trip (split 4 ways, it was really cheap), but it's right across the street from a bus stop that would also work for getting around. While it may have been more convenient in some ways to be closer to the event, it was great to be free of all of the crowds when we were done for the day and headed back "home," and the food and drink options were fantastic.
We found great sandwiches nearby (John's Roast Pork and Gooey Louie's) based on our hostess' recommendations, and some really great options for other food/drink with just a little exploration. She was very helpful and responsive throughout the entire process (from booking to the end of our stay), answering questions very quickly and providing great information.
In short, I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, and will probably look to use it again on my next trip to Philly.
The accommodations were perfect. We had clean comfortable living and sleeping areas with the ability to cook, wash clothes, and find parking (highly in demand in Philadelphia). The location served us well for the ease of getting to and from it no matter where we went in Philly. The owner made contact before our trip and made us feel welcome. There were even Philly treats and city info waiting for us when we arrived, which turned out to be highly useful. For a couple of people on our trip, this was their first experience using something other than a hotel and were quite anxious and skeptical. By the end of our stay, everyone was wanting to stay longer. Other than unable to stay longer, I can't think of any thing negative. This was all and more than we could have asked for. Great place, great time, great experience.
Wonderful first experience
We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was so gracious and left us a cute bag of goodies and a lot of useful information about Philadelphia. The home was extremely clean and the decor was lovely. We really felt welcome and comfortable. The only issue we had was the AC didn't seem to cool down the upstairs. Maybe we didn't have it set correctly, but it was a little warmer than we would have liked while sleeping. However, that would not make me not stay again. There were ceiling fans in the bedrooms which helped. The rooms were perfect and I really appreciated the additional mattress the owner put out for my kids. There was always a parking space right out front which was awesome! The owner communicated prior to our stay and always got back to me with all of the answers to my questions right away. We had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this home and owner. Thank you so much!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for staying at my home!
