Here's a fabulous little house for you for your upcoming Austin adventure. Stay in style: vintage meets mod, 2 amazing swing chairs for ultimate relaxation, and a lovely deck with a pond built into it that you can dip your feet or just gaze upon its lovely plants as you enjoy the sounds of the soothing fountain after a long day of live music/race-car gawking/shopping/whatever it is that brings you to town.
Awesome location -- totally bikeable to Zilker/hike & bike trail/downtown/South Lamar/South Congress and in a nice, quiet location, but very close to tons of cool coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants (recommendations available upon request!) You can catch a bus to downtown or the east side in a few minutes, or over to South Congress.
There is a queen-sized bed and a long couch that's very comfortable to sleep on. I can provide inflatable beds for up to 2 extra people (for a total of 5 at the very maximum).
I've lived in this area since I moved to Austin, and I've watched it develop from a cool laid-back area just south of downtown into something more dynamic. Austin's dining scene is exploding in this area. If you're here, check out Barley Swine (walking distance), Odd Duck, Lulu B's (a terrific Vietnamese trailer, lunch only), El Primo (awesome taco truck outside of Once Over coffee shop, on s. 1st breakfast/lunch only). Kerbey Lane, a very Austin-ish diner that's open 24 hours, is a stone's throw away; Mr. Natural, a great vegetarian Mexican place, is right around the corner.
I have an awesome orange cat, and she'll be on the premises while you're here. She's very cuddly and low-maintenance. So if you don't want to be in charge of an awesome kitty during your vacation, I advise finding another spot. Thanks!

About Property Manager/Owner
I am a native New Yorker, a travel fiend, a lover of design, a jewelry designer, a manic music collector, and a Spanish-English translator. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any Austin advice, because I've been here for 10 years and know the city pretty darn well.
Property Manager/Owner purchased this House in 2013
Why Property Manager/Owner chose South Lamar
I have lived in this zip code since moving to Austin ten years ago, and it's been my favorite ever since. It's funky, safe, and close to nature and downtown. Austin's best restaurants are on S. Lamar, which is a stone's throw away; it's only 15 mins by car to the airport; downtown is also just 15 mins away, and Town Lake, the hiking and biking paradise (a must-visit), is easily accessible.
What makes this House unique
A lovely deck (with pond!), swing chairs, and a hammock in the spacious, tree-filled backyard make this a relaxing oasis for your trip.

Quintessential Austin bungalow!
Rachel is a great host, was there to greet us and explain the in's and out's of the home, which is a picturesque artistic Austin bungalow. The 2 clean and quirky bedrooms (plus large air mattress she provided) provided plenty of room for our group of 4. Amenities, including wi-fi, water, A/C, etc had no problems. Sam was definitely an added bonus for us, she's such a sweet cat, and completed the Home-Away-From-Home feel. South Lamar is a great area to stay, with lots of local restaurants, bars, brunch spots, etc., but secluded enough to be tranquil. It's just a short Uber out to hotspots north of the river if that's your thing. I wish we were able to stay longer, and would absolutely book again! Thanks Rachel! :)
Artistic little home that was a perfects night sleep
Rachel was very accommodating and greeted us as we arrived. She already had a quaint personalized note on the door. She had a stocked fridge, but designated a shelf for us with fresh raspberries and yogurt. Also, some granola and coffee on the counter top. She left us towels with hand crafted soaps. It was perfect. She left out the local paper for us to review any activities we might consider over our weekend. But we were already booked. We came back in the evening to sleep, found super fast wifi service and a perfect cord for my apple laptop to plug into the tv for streaming. We were set with entertainment on a comfy bed. My daughter then went to sleep in the other room and in the morning said she slept great.
We were gone all day, and the next night we returned fully exhausted and I went out to the backyard and sat in perfect peacefulness to the sound of her water fountain as I watched fireflies spark randomly in the twilight.
She was great at communicating and wanted to make sure we had a good stay. We did. Thanks Rachel.
