If you like to golf put your clubs on the boat and float over to Lake Forest Golf Club.
I live in Eagle River. Born in Milwaukee and went to Marquette University. As a young boy my mom and dad took our family to my grandfather's cottage on Big Lake in Three Lakes. That is when I fell in love with the north woods. My wife, of 37 years, and I have lived all over but when the chance to purchase property in Eagle River came by we jumped at it. In fact, we sold our house in Scottsdale AZ to tear down the cottage built our primary residence in Eagle River. We are here mostly year round but do escape to FL in the winter. We have 4 boys and 4 grand kids.
Dave Tidmarsh purchased this cottage in 2008
It is special to be on a lake but not anywhere near as special as being on the water of 28 lakes. There is a very active association of committed property owners whose stewardship has ensured that the waters of these lakes are as clean as can be.
Northern Wisconsin is full of beautiful forests and clean water lakes but the Eagle River chain has no equal. The fresh air and quiet evenings always leave me refreshed.
Nice clean place, GREAT location, fully stocked kitchen and had lots of little extra's through-out. Recommend for small number of people, would definitely go back.
My wife's only major complaint was the lack of WiFi communication for most of our stay. She had to go into local library for a connection to stay updated
on a family situation. The owner and his wife were quite cordial and helpful in suggestions as to local restaurants and other points of interest. A good suggestion for family swimming we found on our own was the city park located on the lake with large sandy area and dock swimming. Local park with
pickle ball courts which are the finest you will find anywhere and a robust group of seniors was worth the trip in to play for a few hours one morning.
We found several other local trips and tried to eat out at different lodges at least every other night. We used the charcoal grill and brought along some
extra grilling tools. I was able to borrow a map of the chain of lakes from the owner and found out later you can buy these at Tripp local grocery store
which is advisable if you are unfamiliar with the local lakes.Cottage was very comfortable and clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils and cookware.

Property was as advertised. Very clean when we arrived. The owner met us upon arrival and made us feel welcome. He was always available if needed and provided assistance when needed. Our group was 3 adults, 1 teen and 1 child and was a little cramped but not bad. The private pier on the channel was very nice. We rented a boat and only had to launch it once and docked every night at the pier. Cabin was very comfortable and it was nice to have cable television when we couldn't get outside due to rain. Town of Eagle River had everything we needed during our stay. While a bit of a drive from the cabin, would definitely recommend eating at DJ's in St. Germain. Food is outstanding, large portions and a family business run by very nice people. Fishing was sub-par but we found out from talking with locals that it was due to the time we were there (late June). Was told spring or fall is better time for successful fishing. I do recommend this property. Best for smaller groups due to it's size.
The house was right on point for our fishing trip.clean and Dave was very nice and helpful.
We had a great time at this spot. It was really quiet most of the week and our dog loved the big yard. The dock is between two lakes, so the channel is a great place to watch boats go by or to use, as my husband did, as a launch to explore by kayak. Perfect for a couple or small, young family. Very close to Eagle River.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was very clean and just the right size for my wife and two small boys. Every morning we watched the deer feed and every night we watched a breathtaking sunset. Additionally, Dave and his wife were over the top welcoming. They treated us as if we were family right from the start. We will be back.
