About the property

Time to get away? Time to relax and restore?

Built in 1961, this is one of the original 32 homes when Las Palmas was first developed. A Palmer/Krisel classic, this is architectural art at its finest. You'll find it's been lovingly cared and restored with an eye towards the original design and aesthetic. The wallpaper alone is thrilling!

The home is perfectly situated in the best area town. You’ll find great value in being walking distance to the North-end design district and even downtown. In just a matter of minutes, you’ll be strolling Palm Canyon and window shopping.

The floor plan is open with 1,800 sq. ft. of living space; the living room seamlessly flows into the kitchen and into the dining room. From the dining room, there are sliders to an outdoor patio and pergola for sunset dinners with friends. Dramatic views of the San Jacinto Mountains command your attention from almost every angle.

The kitchen is bright and open. You can easily prepare meals and cocktails without ever leaving your family and friends. Well stocked, you'll not want for entertaining here!

The two guest rooms offer a queen bed and closet, the master suite features a King bed. There is a guest bath in the hallway for visitors and the two guest rooms.

Relax poolside, as Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher did, and forget the world on the other side of the door. It’s a huge pool, quiet and private. No spa/hot tub. But, there is a real wood-burning fire pit in the yard. Pick up some wood at the store... s'mores anyone?

Las Palmas is the premier neighborhood of Palm Springs. It's sometimes referred to as the 'Beverly Hills' of Palm Springs. This very affluent neighborhood is rich with architecture and Hollywood history. It should be noted this neighborhood has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced. The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for vacation and relaxation and is by no means a 'party-central' home. Each guest is expected be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at this home. The property manager Scott Fields was everything you would expect and more to take care of our needs. We highly recommend this property.

Lovely Alexander home in prime neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely home for almost month over the Christmas and New Years holidays. The property manager was very responsive and kind, and respected our desire to have privacy and enjoy a much needed break from our busy Manhattan lives. The sunrises and sunsets over the mountains to the West were photographic, almost unreal. Very beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped with all the tools a weekend chef could want, and everything was well maintained, spotless actually. Beds were super comfortable, with great pillows, both hard and soft. Best of all, the location: multi-million-dollar-homes-neighborhood, very quiet and yet a pleasant walk to Palm Canyon for cafes and restaurants (Trio, Workshop Kitchen, Koffi, etc.) Overall an excellent spot.

Wonderful weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house over the Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful experience. The house is clean, quiet and everything is up to date. The temperature in Palm Springs was close to 100 each day and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I saw the prior review, but we had no issues with the house. The pool was crystal clear and we did not require heating which was actually a nice respite from the heat. It is close to town and in the nicest neighborhood in Palm Springs. We would definitely rent this house again!

OK- but paid mega-premium price for just "ok"- and had several issues

  • 2 of 5

We stayed at this home for three nights during the Coachella Festival. Although we were there for a friends' birthday, we sucked it up and paid the very high season pricing for this home. Pros: Home was clean, neat and a classic mid-century modern layout and design. The outdoor space was lovely but needed to be better manicured and maintained. Cons: The air conditioning system "froze" up and did not have air conditioning during an unusually warm week for over 24 hours. Home Manager did not offer any kind of compensation for this hiccup. If air conditioner is prone to this, it should made clear tot he renters so that the thermostat is never set under "x" degrees. Our other major disappointment was with the pool. It was slimy and dirty and needed a thorough cleaning. We paid the pool heating fee of over $250.00 and never even put a toe in it. Again, no offer for compensation. We'll look elsewhere when renting again in PS.
