My father and I built the cabin in 1982 by ourselves with logs we helped cut at a friends sawmill. In 1990 we built the garage, this time hiring someone with a portable sawmill to come in and cut the logs we had prepared. In 2009, I took over the cabin from my parents and built on an addition, adding 2 bedrooms and a second bathroom. It is my primary residence now, but my job takes me to various places around the country for years at a time. It's a shame for such a peaceful, beautiful place to sit empty so I have chosen to rent it out during the summer each year until I can return to retire here.
Owner/ Manager purchased this cabin in 1982
Three generations of our family, 5 adults and an almost 2-year old stayed at the cabin for 4 days. We had a great time together. The pontoon boat was fun to ride on and for fishing. Its location by the river is lovely, quiet yet accessible to a bigger lake. The cabin is roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated with all the dishes and linens provided. We also enjoyed the outdoor campfire area and grill.
The reservation process went great, the owner was responsive to eMails and questions. The cabin was very nice, with plenty of space, and the pontoon boat was a great "extra." We used it, along with the canoe and the paddle boats. The fire pit was great. It was nice to be away from the real world with our adult kids for a few days. All that being said, the cabin was in need of cleaning. We were told that the prior renters had seen mice, that traps had been set up, and would be removed before we got there. Although we never saw a mouse, there was evidence of mice (droppings) in the cupboards, and we had to wash the dishes/cooking pans before we used them. The top linens on the beds were dingy and needed to be laundered. The screens on the screen doors were in terrible condition, multiple large rips, and some areas missing altogether, so we couldn't leave the doors open and enjoy the breeze. Even with these issues, we did have a good time and enjoyed our short vacation. We ordered pizza from the Enchanted Inn and it was great!
This log cabin was perfect for our group! Everyone enjoyed the stay and felt comfortable to hang out on the property. The pontoon boat provided hours of enjoyment for those that wanted to fish! Someone even caught a 36" northern! The pan fish were there too! The water was crystal clear to see the fish swimming around. The owner was very accommodating to answer any questions we had and even allowed our pet to come! Thank you for sharing your property with us even if it was for only 4 days :) We had fun and enjoyed our relaxation time!
A bunch friends and I stayed here with our kids. It was so nice that it had so much room for us, Netflix for the kids, a pontoon, canoe, and paddle boat we could use. The lake was gorgeous!!
Our family reunion was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay very much. From the youngest to the oldest we all had fun. The pontoon, canoe and paddle boat were well used. I couldn't of asked for anything more. I would definitely recommend that you stay here and I will definitely come back hopefully for a longer stay. Such a peaceful place to stay. Morning coffee on the front porch watching the sunrise was breathtaking!
We had a great time at the Log Cabin! Very fun location and the pontoon made it all the better. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a fun place to stay!
