South Puget Sound - A Warm Saltwater Lake and Beachfront in One!
Big windows with awesome views – a great place to relax on the deck and watch the birds. The unique saltwater lake is swimable in the summer; it's a closed cove with no tidal action, with private dock, and a beachfront on Case Inlet a short walk away.
Wake to otters playing on the dock. Watch the resident ducks paddle & herons swoop. Watching the birds on the ever-changing colors and reflections of the water can be an all-afternoon meditation. Take the canoe over to the berm that forms the only warm, swim-able salt water lake on the sound. Walk the beach at sunset to watch the spectacular colors over the Olympics; s'mores around the fire later; bliss.
Guest will have access to the private dock, canoe and 2 SUPs, and the Cove Association private beach. Joemma Beach State Park, with some short trails, a marina, and a pier for fishing is walking distance. The beach is wonderful for walking, and picnicking, and is located on the quiet Case Inlet – perfect for kayaking. Tacoma is 45 minutes away for wonderful museum destinations, The Glass Museum, Lemay Car Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and the Washington State History Museum. There is a golf course ½ hour away, and a winery down the road. There are many other adventures nearby, Penrose State Park and Lakebay Marina are on the East side of the Key Peninsula. The cabin is a 1 ½ hour drive from Seattle.
Cabin has two small bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with bunk beds, and an open loft upstairs that has a double bed. It has one full bathroom. It is a cozy cabin and suited for up to 4 people maximum.
Perfect for a ladies group getaway weekend. Contact the owner about the possibility of adding a guided arts or crafts activity to your weekend.
The cabin is located near YMCA Camp Coleman, it would be a perfect place for parents to stay while their child is at camp ... or if you were a camper and remember those idyllic days on Whiteman Cove, you can re-live them at the cabin.
Please contact the owner for available dates, the calendar is not always in sync. Thank you!

Quiet and quiet
Great peaceful location, very well kept and detail-oriented owner to make your stay super
We didn't want to leave....
What an amazing property. I have stayed in many VRBO properties and just wow! Walked in with a lovely note from Sarah wishing my friends and I a wonderful time. Plenty of room for the 5 of us and the kitchen was full stocked with everything you needed....it was the small things like the condiments/coffee/milk already provided that made our stay even better. This property is meant for anyone from a romantic getaway, family trip or girls weekend. Sarah has thought of everything possible to make sure your stay is perfect. What a great way to get out of the city. Thanks Sarah.
Exceeded our expectations!
We loved and enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Peaceful Cabin on the Cove!! The cabin was perfect for our multi-generational group with me, my two daughters (15 and 11) and their grandma. The decor of the cabin was unique and fun. The beds and furniture we super comfortable. We loved all the different outdoor spaces that allowed us to visit, play games, read, or just be still and take in nature's beauty. The SUP's and canoe were so much fun! We'd never tried a SUP before, but it was really pretty easy to do. Both were unique ways to explore the cove from a new perspective.
Joemma Beach State Park was accessible by canoe or a short 5 minute car ride. We really enjoyed hunting for gorgeous rocks, climbing on the driftwood along the shore, and looking for creatures in the water. We found an abundance of sand dollars (alive and not), crabs in all sizes (including smaller than a fingertip), and even a jellyfish! We watched it swim for quite a while in fascination. The different kinds of seaweed we found along the shore was also interesting to us.
Sarah was a fantastic host! She had everything we needed, and even some super fun things that we didn't need, but sure enjoyed! She left a huge bag of arts and craft supplies for us to use. We had so much fun creating beaded bookmarks, keychains, and backpack zipper pulls! We completed a puzzle. A great assortment of board games; the Clue game is now my 11 year old's favorite game. And there was even a ukelele...let's say that was the most exciting thing for us all to try playing!
We definitely felt right at home and made fantastic memories here. During our week long stay, we had 3 days where we did "touristy things" such as Seattle's Pike Place Market, the Ferris Wheel, and Wings Over Washington, Mount St. Helen's, and sights in Tacoma. The other 3 days were spent enjoying the cabin and activities and peacefulness we found there. I would recommend it to others who are looking for a beautiful setting to reconnect with family/friends/nature, and for people that wish to feel recharged after vacation.
A new favorite getaway!
A very relaxing getaway close to home. Located in a quiet neighborhood (Camp Colman can be heard from time to time) and perfect in so many ways. We would definitely return!!
Great place with everything we needed. Quiet and very clean with cool decor.
Great experience and Sarah is easy to work with. Home was perfect and exactly what was promised. We will be back soon!!!!
Better than I expected.
We stayed for a weekend during the heat in August. The cabin and lake area were delightful. The owner has a canoe and two paddle boards plus the things we brought. If you like to play in the water, it's a great place. Nice dock. The water is salt but very like a lake. We saw plenty of wildlife. Seemed that we almost had the lake to ourselves. As far as the cabin, there is a nice kitchen and bath. Beautiful picture windows and a great deck. Very, very nice on a summer weekend. Sarah was very helpful during our stay with tips and concern for our comfort. There seem to be other things to do but we stayed pretty close to the water.
