Local Attractions – 15 minute drive from Daytona Raceway, 60 minutes from Disney and other central Florida attractions, 45 minutes from Kennedy space center, close to many great restaurants, golf courses and the famous Daytona Flea Market.
My son and I had the absolute pleasure of spending 12 days with great friends and owners. The condo is perfectly located, beautifully decorated and spacious with everything you could possibly need. The property is managed by Marlene and Bill; they go out of their way to help with anything. The view from the unit on the 2nd floor is amazing! The pool is very clean and located beach front, there is shuffle board, the condo has boogie boards and a sun shelter to use on the beach. The beach is stunning and very clean. Every day we were treated to 2 Dolphin's swimming up the beach towards the Pier. No need to have a vehicle if you fly into Daytona (15m cab ride) or Orlando (60m shuttle). Publix grocery/Walgreen's - 5 m walk - grab all your grocery needs and would be a 1 time quick cab return and easy to walk to during your stay to pick up any extra items. Highlights (too many to mention): Joe's Crab shack - walk down the beach for happy hour 4-7pm - fishing on the Pier is a must the boys loved! We hit the Pier many nights and the boys never tired of fishing and the food and atmosphere is great. Watching the surfers from your seats was very entertaining. You can also walk to mini-golf (Congo River, Pirates Golf), and the wonderful Italian Restaurant across the street is a must. Make sure to walk across the street and see Shannon at the Blue Coast Rentals. You can rent boogie boards, bikes, book surfing lessons (be sure to ask for Jessie who was fantastic with both the mom's learning and the boys), or go on a beautiful paddle boarding tour with Shannon on the river. We were surrounded by Dolphin's and Manatee's on our tour and stopped at a few islands to hunt for unique sea shells. There is also a par 3 golf course and tennis courts right behind Publix. The bus stop is right out front of the condo and is $1.25 to ride. Downtown is a 20 min bus ride to the Daytona pier, and downtown carnival was a ton of fun for the boys. If you do drive to the location a day in St. Augustine is a must -- beautiful city with tons of shopping, culture and history. Other ideas: Cape Canaveral (90 min), Disney (60 min), tons of shopping malls within an hour drive, Alligator Farm in St. Augustine. We used a car for 2 excursions and otherwise you really could stay and have plenty to do without the cost. I would highly recommend this property to couples, a ladies getaway, families with teens or younger kids alike. Relaxing, active, fun: the perfect vacation for anyone!
Your condo was the perfect ingredient to make our 3 week stay a success on the beautiful sandy beaches of Daytona! The condo was clean and accommodating for our family of four. Facility is professionally managed and conveniently located to everything. Enjoyed staying at a smaller facility with all the amenities minus the headaches. Great experience highly recommended!
Stayed at this Sand Dollar unit May 2015, great location! Clean, comfortable it was definitely a home away from home. Cannot wait until I can return for another stay. The 2 Bdrm/2 Bathroom condo was a great fit for us travelling with 3 children. Property Management provided great service and very welcoming. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a quiet condo right on the beach.
