This cosy, newly renovated, family cottage on Lake Muskoka has three bedrooms with Queen beds, one pull out couch and cottage 'Bunkie' with King Size bed. Can sleep comfortably 8-10 and has 3 bathrooms (one full). Cottage is fully furnished with satellite TV, wireless and all kitchen amenities and appliances including dishwasher, full washer and a dryer, water filters, water dispenser, coffee machines, kettle microwave, toasters etc.
Outside we have a smaller table for outdoor lunches and a large BBQ with utensils. A short walkway down to the boat house will lead you to the top of the deck that has a covered gazebo and a large L-shaped couch. We also have some loungers and recliners for the top deck - please no jumping off the top into the water. At the bottom of the boat house, we have two slips but three boats can be parked. There is a shallow, sandy entrance into the water where we are building steps in Spring 2015 for easy access and there is also a great outdoor shower.
Water sports equipment such as kayak and paddles boards supplied. Some life adult life jackets provided but none for children so please provide your own.
Driveway area can fit 4 cars and easy access and only a 5 minute drive from Bala and 15 minutes from Port Carling.
I purchased this property in the Spring of 2014 to have a home-away-from home from our busy life in Hong Kong. As I was born and raised in Ontario, we wanted to have a property that we could enjoy with friends and family for years to come.
Nancy Ferriman purchased this cottage in 2014
After a busy weekend search, I walked into the cottage and knew immediately it was the property that we wanted. The family that owned it were there and firstly we hit it off with them and became instant friends and secondly it felt like it was my home already. It was a no brainer.
Decorated like a family home (with many furnishing from Muskoka Living) and not like a rental property, we wanted to have the cosiest couch, the softest sheets and amenities so we would not need or want to leave the property. We also want to make sure to have the modern touches included like wireless and satellite TV. The key purchase was the large dining room table just opposite the open kitchen, it is really where we spend most our time enjoying ourselves with games, food and wine.
We were lucky enough to spend a long weekend at the beautiful property, while attending a wedding in Muskoka. The property is everything and more. As many previous reviews mentioned, the home is fully stocked from top to bottom. They offer all amenities from comfortable bedding, towels, all the kitchen items one might need, and I can't forget the "cottage feel" furniture and decorations. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The best part, the owners are wonderful people and easy to get in touch with. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home away from home.
We spent a week at this cozy cottage in July 2015 and it was such a peaceful and relaxing week that we didn't want to leave! The cottage is fully stocked with all the comforts of home including a completely stocked kitchen, luxurious bed linens, and soft beach towels. The interior is very tastefully decorated in "Muskoka Living" style and the furniture (especially the beds) are so comfy! The large upper deck on top of the boathouse is a wonderful retreat with beautiful views of lake Muskoka and comfortable seating for lots of guests.
We can't wait to go back there again next July!
Lucky enough to have been able to spend a long weekend up there with friends and their kids.
Perfect spot to spend long lazy days of summer up in Muskoka - lounging on their deck and enjoying the scenery.
Beautifully decorated - everything you need to help make your vacation relaxing. Good swimming - both shallow and deep water. Good bay for waterskiing and tubing - this place has it all!
Great location - close to shopping and restaurants.
My fiancé and I were lucky enough to spend some time up here in the late summer as well as fall and absolutely loved it. We were able to make our favourite coffee in the mornings (drip or french press!), go for runs during the day and make delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen!
Our favourite spot was hanging out on the boat house deck during the day to catch some rays, and at night with a glass of wine to watch the stars.
Many thanks to Nancy for making this a seamless vacation spot for us!
I spent a week up at the cottage and it was the a great way close out the summer. The house is a perfect size for a couple or the family. We had visitors come and stay with us and there was lots of room for all of us. My fiancé and had the best sleep I can remember in years; the additional bunky is perfect for that.
The area is great for daily walks and runs across to Acton Island (watch out for the cars!). Just a short drive away in Port Perry is a great taco place called Grand Electric. Definitely go there for a night out.
The best part of the property is boathouse. There's a small cabana for shelter on the upper deck which is quite large and great for hosting.
This has become our favorite spot up north and we'll definitely be going back.
I stayed her for a week last August and absolutely loved it. Plenty of parking for all guests and easy access to the cottage. Right away it felt like home. We had beautiful weather so spent most of our time outside during the day; sunbathing on top of the boathouse, having our meals on the deck, swimming, kayaking and boating. It was a dreamy and relaxed week. In the evenings, we spent most time at the large dining room table - playing games and having a blast. The decor was clean, simple and inviting. We had friends stay in the guest house and loved it as well. Plenty of room for all of us (6) and some of the best sleeps I had all year in the most comfy bed with beautiful linens. Will definitely return!
