OVERVIEW OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD: The area is inhabited mostly in spring and summer, you are just 1.5 km from San Michele Salentino; 5 km from San Vito dei Normanni, the "city of Pizzica" which is celebrated on August 15th, where is located the office of Vacanze in Puglia.
SAN MICHELE SALENTINO: A fascinating farm area for the presence of numerous trulli. The center of San Michele Salentino, a village of the Itria Valley, is known for vocation to gastronomy. We recommend to butchers where you can buy local meat, sit down and enjoy it on the grill and palce in which you can enjoy fried fresh fish. In the first week of August there are four days of the patron fest, in September, the 'Sagra of Almond Fig'. Getting unique almond fig for San Michele Salentino is the skillful technique with which still today is dried and "coupled", a process remained largely similar to the one used in Roman times. Today, almond fig is inside the line Slow Food Italy and the Eataly throughout Italy.
