About Undine Achilles-Day
I live with my husband and sons in beautiful Argyll, and I love it. The holiday houses are on the beautiful Ardrhu Estate, Onich, between Fort William and Glen Coe in the Highlands of Scotland. I have been working for many years as a biologist but have started my own business in February 2016. I love crafts e.g sewing, woodwork, furniture up-cycling, art, gardening and meeting people. I greatly enjoy to spend time in Ardrhu, the relaxation, the peace, the countryside are just food for the soul. contact: 0044 (0)7563 500196

Why Undine Achilles-Day chose Fort William
For me this cottage is perfectly situated. It is away from busy roads and has fantastic views across Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. It is perfectly situated to discover the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and all the outdoor activities available everywhere around Ardrhu. The cottage is also perfect for just to "get away from it all", to relax, to recuperate, to quieten the mind etc. We enjoy to stay in the cottage ourselves on occasion and never get enough of the weathers going by. My husband and I have refurbished this property to a very high standard. It benefits from central heating and a wood burning stove which provides a wonderful cosiness in the cooler evenings. From the sitting room you have a fantastic view towards Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. In summer when the sun is shining onto the decking its the perfect location to have breakfast or dinner outside. or why not take a cup of tea and stroll down to the shore to sit on a rock and relax close to the sea and let the wind and weather ruffle your hair for a while. The cottage has been fitted with a new kitchen incl. washing machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The bathroom has been completely renovated and is stylish and practical. In general, the cottage is very unique and homely, the decor has been carefully chosen, and it provides a calming and relaxing ambient. It is suitable in all seasons, and it is wonderful sitting on the sofa and watching the "weather" going by.
What makes this Cottage unique
Everyone who visited Ardrhu is blown away by the fantastic setting. There are only few places left which provide you with so much peace, wilderness and beauty. The cottage for me is a perfect setting for all sorts of activities, whether you like to relax or just go out for adventures. Right between the Nevis and Glencoe mountain range it provides all year activities incl. winter sports. The many lochs and the sea in the area give plenty of opportunity for water sports, including fishing, snorkeling, diving or sailing. ... and can there be a better activity after a long day out to come home to a fire in the wood burning stove? This cottage is my "getting away" and my "soul searching" and my "recuperation" and the perfect place to explore this beautiful area with its many exciting attractions. It is centrally located for Glen Coe and Ben Nevis range if you enjoy hiking or winter sporting!

Enjoyed our stay friendly and helpful property manager who recommended a great day out. Only slight issue was the owners having the property valued on a certain day which made us feel we needed to both clean and be out for the day.
Sometimes there are circumstances out with our control and occasionally we need access to the property while guests are staying. We always give at least two days notice where possible. We keep those visits to a minimum and apologies if this causes any inconvenience. On this occasion the visit didn’t take longer than 30 mins.
As you can see from previous reviews we try really hard to give our visitors a great time in our cottage.
Had the most wonderful time at the beachcomber cottage, stunning!. Loved everything about it tastfully decorated well eqipped, the log burner was fantastic, didn't want to leave this morning will be back if udine and her family will have us amazng time.

Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage and would highly recommend it! Wonderful location, close to Glen Coe and Ft. William, yet off the busy roads, directly on Loch Linnie. The cottage was beautifully decorated and the kitchen well stocked. Wish we could have stayed longer!
The most beautiful location
Great little base camp for exploring a stunning area. The beach, just a few steps from the property, is great for blowing away the cobwebs and gathering your thoughts! Fabulous views for miles.
The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and extremely well stocked with items for most eventualities! The log burner is supplied with wood and perfect for warming through and drying off in the evenings, especially if you have a soggy week as we did!
Undine was a great host, checking all was well and wanted our stay to be as perfect as possible.
Fully recommend a stay at Driftwood Cottage.
A warm and welcoming cottage in a faulous location
A great holiday, with fabulous weather and location. Spent a few holidays in the Italian lakes but this was equally as good if not better.
Please be aware Ardrhu is extremely rural. There are no shops or banks or anything else on site.
Shops, banks, doctors etc. can be found in nearby Ballachulish or Fort William.
