1 Br Light-filled Luxury Condo In Aspen's West End
The first time I came to Aspen was in September, catching the gorgeous Maroon Bells at the height of their Fall colors. I ended up coming back 28 days total that first year, experiencing Aspen in all four seasons. I fell in love with this town - it offers an amazing combination of outdoor adventures, beautiful scenery, invigorating activities PLUS ample opportunities for enjoying excellent food, drink and culture.
Ana purchased this Condo in 2015
Why Ana chose West End
On one of my many visits that first year, I walked through the West End neighborhood to the Benedict Music Tent to enjoy a summer concert, and I fell in love with the area. Beautiful homes and trees and a short 6-block walk to all the restaurants and shopping Aspen has to offer. I knew this was where I wanted to be should I ever have the opportunity to own a home here. The Christiana is a beautiful complex, solidly-built, and very well-maintained. It has the charm of a mountain lodge, but the modern amenities of newer construction.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Wonderful property and great communication
The property is actually better than described and better than the pictures. It’s a short walk into town and Anna was lovely and timely in her communications.
We highly recommend this property.
Just not for us
There are some great things, like how responsive and kind the owner and the property manager are, the kitchen and bathroom, across-the-street access to free shuttle buses serving the 4 ski mountains (we were there to ski so this was great) and parking next to the condo (so it's easy to load/unload). It's also walking distance to downtown Aspen. But for our family of 3 at this price I think next time we will look for something quieter (it's on the main road heading into Aspen and we could hear the traffic), with a firmer bed (the bed for us was very soft, hurt our backs and seemed to fall toward the center for 2 people at least - maybe alone it's better), and a clean/working hot tub (looks like it hasn't been used in some time - we were there for 5 nights over spring break end of March and never saw anyone in it).
I thank the guest for her comments, however I was distressed and surprised to read this review. As mentioned, we take pride in and make great efforts to make our guests feel welcomed and comfortable. I believe this, along with the convenience of our location, i.e. easy proximity to Aspen’s core and summer music events, are the reasons we have repeat guests who return year after year. When I checked in several times with the guest during their stay, I didn’t hear any mention of these concerns and wish I had, so I could have tried to help in some way.
As many previous guest reviews mention, the convenience of being walking distance to Aspen’s restaurants and shops and the ease of the free public transit right outside the door is indeed the great benefit of our location.
Regarding the hot tub, other recent guests have enjoyed it, and it is in fact fully operational. The Christiana is home to mostly owners and a few short-term guests, so it does not have the atmosphere of other short-term rentals or hotels. When we are there, we use it daily, but often have it to ourselves. The hot tub/pool is in a quiet garden area sheltered by trees. Because the tub is covered when not in use, so as to keep the water hot and the pine needles out, when it snows as much as it did this ski season, snow piles up on the cover. Though it may appear differently, it only requires one to brush off and lift the cover to enjoy the hot tub (and push the button if you like jets).
Regarding the bed, it is a new mattress, just purchased last year. It is topped by an organic wool mattress topper for comfort, which may have been too soft for the guest's preference. We will look into changing this.
Again, I thank the guest for her comments and encourage future guests to read our previous reviews (and please let us know if we can help during your stay!)
Lovely condo close to everything.
I highly recommend this stylish, clean & cozy condo as a comfortable home away from home. No need for a car, it’s easier to catch the free buses to every ski area & various spots around town that stop every 15 minutes right on the same block. The owner, Ana, was very responsive & quickly solved a problem as soon as she became aware of it.
Ana’s condo is a delight and she is a first class host!
We had to change our vacation destination at the last minute due to the California fires, and Ana was able to accommodate us on very short notice. Her home is perfectly located to access the commercial and dining area in Aspen, and it is a short, direct walk to the music venues for the Aspen music Festival
The condo is airy and light, perfectly temperature controlled, and has a well equipped full kitchen. The condo is spacious and feels larger than one would think. Despite it’s being on Main Street it is quiet and private feeling. The WiFi and smart TV all worked well, allowing us lots of entertainment options. Very comfortable and cozy. We are very appreciative of being able to “live” herefor a week and enjoy the mountains, the forest, and the glorious music. Hope to return next year!
perfect 1 bedroom in Aspen
We have stayed in many places in Aspen over the years. This was exactly as described and was just what we were looking for. Comfortable, well-appointed and equipped, great gas fireplace, everything you could want in the kitchen. The location is great- a 10 minute walk to the gondola base, and a half block to the bus stop (free service to the Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass as well as Rubey Park if you're too tired to walk to central Aspen). Don't be fooled by it fronting on to Main Street- the unit is incredibly quiet, and you would never know you are on Aspen's main drag. There is absolutely no noise from adjacent units, either, and parking is right in front (not that you really need a car, but we drove up from Denver). Note that the pool and hot tub were not open (not an issue for us).
Ana is incredibly responsive and accommodating. I cannot recommend Ana's condo highly enough!
Can't wait to return!
Great experience! Owner Ana is very friendly and responsive – she answered all our queries within a couple of hours. Her unit gets lovely morning light and is surprisingly quiet, despite being on Main Street. Ana’s décor complements the condo design and is highly functional – e.g. wall mounted ski racks in condo, mats for wet boots, comfortable couch (which converts to a pullout bed) and poofs for sitting by the gas fireplace. The spacious bathroom has a jetted tub, which is a plus at the end of a long day of skiing! The kitchen is very well appointed for those who wish to cook or eat in. We also appreciated the condo’s fast Internet connection, as well as TVs in the living room and bedroom with wide selection of cable channels. The unit is very well situated, with a stop just across the street for free buses to the ski mountains and down valley destinations, and Aspen’s best restaurants, grocery, and liquor stores also just a short walk or bus ride away. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to return to Ana’s place again next year!
Aspen is a beautiful resort town in all four seasons. Famous for the world-class skiing and snowboarding on all four mountains in the winter, aspen also offers marvelous scenic hikes starting in spring, and festivals all summer including Food & Wine in June, Jazz Aspen Snowmass in June and Labor Day weekend, Aspen Music Festival, and Aspen Ideas. But my favorite time in Aspen is the Fall when the mountains turn a brilliant gold - stunning!
