Tawton Shippon Cottage
The cottage was spacious and well equipped, with a patio/garden to enjoy. However, the property can only be approached by a narrow, one-car-width lane which makes it isolated. It is a pet-friendly property (we have used them before if there is no other available) but this one smelled very strongly of dogs which we found very unpleasant, and we would not return for this reason.
Very quiet peaceful location, but not Remote. Quick access to most favourable places in North Devon. Final mile or so to the cottage is single track with passing places, which sometimes will need to be reversed into.
Tucked away in the Devonshire countryside
Lovely cottage situated behind farmhouse. Large garden and gorgeous outdoor space. Loved walk in local woods. Lots of equipment for small children. To make it even better would be
to supply info pack with useful details and also places to visit nearby, perhaps even a visitor book as they are always lovely to read and helpful for things to do. Nearby Chichester Arms pub serves great food!! Driveable to beaches at Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Instow etc. Hosts helpful. Thank you for fabulous week.
WALK TO - Numerous country lanes and footpaths to explore from your doorstep. A longer walk will take you to the vibrant town of Barnstaple, with its mix of leading High Street names, together with an array of excellent independent and specialist stores. The town has a truly cosmopolitan flavour when it comes to wining and dining, whether it's restaurants specialising in international cuisine, coffee shops, traditional Pubs or European style Cafe's; there is something for everyone. There is a vibrant live music scene in the town, featuring the popular genres, a superb 650 seat theatre, attracting world wide celebrities and a large multi screen cinema. If you are seeking knowledge based leisure activities, the town has an excellent library, a museum and several small privately owned galleries.
