Otters Holt - sleeps up to 6 - stunning location on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula
High quality cabin with a great view
We enjoyed everything about staying at Otters Holt - the directions and information we received beforehand were very good, the cabin itself was clean, nicely decorated, high quality, and more roomy than we expected, had a well equipped kitchen, wifi, good local information, comfortable beds. It's away from other cabins, secluded in a small area of woodland with access to the hillside via a nearby stile though the back fence, and a great view over to Mull from the front. We saw a White-tailed Sea Eagle flying over the house and two Pine Martens came to jam put outside the patio door (came in the early hours of the morning on some nights but on one night we had two feeding right outside the window at 9pm). We also really enjoyed visiting the beaches in the local area and going over to Tobermory on the ferry. Highly recommended! (stayed late August 2018)
Kilchoan is on the spectacular Ardnamurchan Peninsula, and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It is a haven for walkers, birdwatchers, photographers, botanists, painters and archaeologists and offers a rare profusion of wildlife; otters, seals, pine martens, wildcats, sea eagles and golden eagles, red and roe deer.
Kilchoan has a well equipped general store and post office, tourist information centre and there is a regular ferry service to Mull.
The magnificent white sands of Sanna beach are 6 miles away as is the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. Both have wonderful views across to the islands of Rhum, Eigg, Muck and Skye - the sunsets are spectacular.
