Come home to Casa de Playa. Aptly named for its premier location on one of Vieques island's only residential sandy beaches. Listen to the lull of the waves gently break right outside your front door. Extremely private location. Brand new 12 X 25 foot plunge pool out front! The very last house on the beach nestled into a sweet secluded cove. Sandy path to the beach on one side of the property and a gorgeous freshwater lagoon and lush jungle on the other. The lagoon is home to a multitude of tropical island birds namely egrets and blue herons. The island's wild horses frequent the lagoon and are often seen walking alongside the property down the beach path and along the beach. Nature at its finest. Truly picturesque postcard setting. Enjoy coffee and muffins in your outdoor covered Living Room while the cooling trade winds gently rustle your hair. Lounge on the sectional banquette and take in the latest best seller or simply doze off for an afternoon siesta. Fully equipped kitchen with all one needs to prepare a light island snack or a full chef's supper. The breezy oceanfront setting keeps pesky mosquitos at a minimum. Barely any need to apply bug repellent. Ceiling fans in every room including the outdoor veranda. 100% Egyptian Cotton bed linens and towels. Cable television and internet on site for those who want to 'connect' while in paradise. Superb island location convieniently located within minutes to downtown Isabel Segunda for all your shopping and dining needs. Beach out front is a snorklers, surfers, bodyboarders and beachcombers delight. Gorgeous sunsets overlooking the island of Culebra and the main island of Puerto Rico. One feels the world is a million miles away at Casa de Playa. Are you in Hawaii? A dreamy isle in the Aegean? An exotic retreat in French Polynesia? No, you're just a few hours away from the states and a 20 minute plane ride from San Juan International. Dreams do come true at Casa de Playa!!!

This adorable beach cottage is a dream come true. We love our little slice of paradise and hope you do as well. Pool and beach. What more do you need?
Beachfront! Beachfront! Beachfront! The only drawback is you won't want to leave! Pool!
This was the perfect little bungalow for our family of four. You drive through a typical island neighborhood (read: roosters and chickens running in the streets and homes that seem to be actually owned and lived in by local Viequeses) before dead-ending into the ocean and the beach path that runs right by this white-washed house. The interior has a very clean, beachy modern feel- not kitschy like many can be... There's a steady onshore breeze, and we didn't need the AC unit in the master bedroom at all. The beach in front is not really swimmable due to the rocks, steady waves and reef, but it's full of cool urchins and sea stars and things to look at, the house is situated right at the end of a stretch of beach by some large rocks, so you really feel secluded. The tall palm trees right in front of the house frame the view beautifully. The small pool is a delight to have, as is the covered sitting area right by it where we ate all our meals when we were home. The kitchen is stocked with all the spices you would ever need as well as ample pots and pans if you care to cook. We loved watching the 8-10 horses that would show up in the early morning and evenings to drink from the tiny freshwater pond by the house-- magical. Isabel isn't really close enough for an easy walk, but it's a quick drive to stock up on groceries or grab a bite, though we tended to eat out more in Esperanza, which is about a 15 minute drive across the island. Spent our last night at the Bio Bay which cannot be missed. Be sure to ask your tour company the maximum number of kayaks they allow--we had 18 in our group which was really too many. Still loved it, but a smaller flotilla would have been more intimate. We loved picking out a different beach on the map every morning, packing up our snorkel equipment in our jeep, and heading out. The house provides beach chairs, a cooler, and an umbrella for all your excursions and adventures, and the washer/dryer after a few days of salt and sand a godsend.
This beautiful home is located right on the beach,is very private, clean, well decorated and comfy. Daily visits from island horses to the beach starts our day. The kitchen is very well furnished. Master bedroom has a queen bed and great pillows. The other bedroom is great for another couple or kids as it is the same size as master. There is a deck and pool to relax at and outside dining. Because of the gentle breezes, there are a minimal of bugs. Great star gazing at night. Extra bonuses are washer and dryer, plenty of towels, beach chairs. The home is at the northeast side of Vieques , so away from the "action" but easily accessed 10 minutes away. We loved "Duffy's" and "Tinbox". We were met at the airport by the contact and owners who gave us info on the island and oriented us to the property and were able to contact the owners during our stay with questions. We were very happy with this beach home and will be back. Visited January 2016.
We had a pleasure to stay at Casa de Playa in July, 2015 and it was a wonderful choice for our getaway to Vieques! Casa de Playa is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood but it feels fairly secluded as it is right on the beach and surraunded by lush palm trees and tropical vegetation. The beach is rocky but waves are calm and water is clear. Nice beach for easy strolls any time during the day as it is mostly empty, but often visited by Vieques' ubiquitous horses which come to bathe in a pond right next to the house so you can watch them from the patio. You just don't get this experience in five star resort!
The bungalow is clean, cute, and tastefully decorated and you will find all you need for your stay here. The kitchen is very well equipped, to my delight includes even the Blendtec blender, so it was easy and pleasurable to cook. Wi-fi worked great, there is a large screen TV if you must check what calamities are going on in the world - we did not turn it on once! The spacious patio, where we spent most of the time, faces the beach and is a breezy retreat for coffee in the morning, nap in the afternoon or glass of wine in the evening. The masters bedroom, with comfy bed, faces the ocean so we slept with the windows opened listening to the waves as the air-conditioning in the bedroom was bit too noisy for us. The second bedroom, with two twin beds, would be ideal for kids or teenagers, not so much for another couple.
We rented a jeep so it was easy to get to Isabell II or beyond, but you can even walk to town if you enjoy longer walks. We discovered a few good restaurants in town so you don't always have to drive to Esperanza to eat. On occasion we bought a freshly caught fish in the Pescaderia near the ferry and cooked fabulous seafood dinner at home!
BONUS: The local property manager, US veteran who lives in the neighborhood, is very friendly, caring and proactive. He picked us up from the rental car place, showed us the area, the stores, and places to eat and periodically checked on us to see if we need anything. We felt very safe to have him close by.
Also our praises go to the owner who was very easy to reach from the beginning to end, and went above and beyond to share information about the island, recommend and arrange things beyond the accommodations! Nice bottle of wine and cold beer awaited in the fridge on our arrival. The deposit was promptly returned right after our trip which, I understand, is not always the case with property owners.
