About Barbara & Raoul Piette

Taking the road-less-traveled (while returning from a high desert business meeting) meant encountering a sign stating that Wrightwood was seven miles – that-away. Childhood memories made turning my back on civilization a no-brainer.

One slowly rising bend led to another, as desert chaparral became turned to scrub oaks, before giving way to age old towering pines and majestic oaks. The small town charm of kids walking to school along streets with no lights was irresistible. Nestled amongst the surrounding National Forest, yet minutes to the ski resort, were homes of various distinctive character, built over the last 100 years. Being in a National Forest means houses get rebuilt, not malls constructed. What began as a great place to grow apples, is now the gateway to four seasons of sublime activities. And Wrightwood is so accessible, just an hour to the Big A.

So funds planned for investment into senior condos, instead became a labor of love - in owning and sharing the mountains as a getaway to renew the core of you. So what was once a newlywed investment, three kids later, has become a lifetime of family memories - spread across multiple homes. There is so much to see and do that’s different at elevation. People unplug, literally, and thereby recharge themselves.

But we can’t be here every week. So we take pride in maintaining and upgrading each home, to make better memories for our guests.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We spent last weekend at the Snow Bungalow. We had a fantastic time. The layout inside the cabin is very open. Many cabins for 4 feel like you are climbing on top of each other. Not at the Snow Bungalow...this place is very roomy. There are 2 bedrooms with Tv's in each. There are many VHS tapes and board games to keep entertained also. Pots and pans are pretty old but all other furnishings were nice. There is a washer and dryer which is very convenient for wet snow boarding items. There is also a little area out front where the kids were able to play in the snow. The cabin is less then 5 minutes to Mountain High and walking distance to the cute little shops in town. Location wise you can't get much better. Overall we had a great time. We will stay here again again!

Cute and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Overall, I really enjoyed this cute two bedroom house. It's small and cozy but good for a few people. A positive is that it's literally 5 min from Mt High. The only thing I did not like about it was how limited and awkward the parking was. It was difficult to park a truck and car there, but manageable with a back up camera or someone outside your car directing you. Overall, I would recommend this cabin.

This snow bungalow was very cozy and extremely clean. It's a perfect size for a family of four or five. We really liked the location of the bungalow. We enjoyed walking to the restaurants and the stores, which were located one block from the bungalow.

cozy and warm small house, perfect for family with 2 or 3 kids

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time visiting Wrightwood. We took out kids to see snow. The bungalow we stayed in was 5 min drive from mountaing high ski resort. It was really clean and neat. Enjoyed overall the area, the small village and the house itself. Definitely would like to come back. Great grocery store walking distance from the bungalow.

Nice Stay

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this cabin for a day and we totally enjoyed it. Mainly the cabin is very near to the North/West/East Mountain High and it is very near to all the shops. The owner of this cabin was very friendly and looking forward to go again in the next season.
