About Nicole Fisher

Peter and Nicole Fisher are residents of Salt Lake City, but have also lived in Moab, St. George, Provo, Boston, Massachusetts and Ann Arbor, Michigan. They love the outdoors, skiing, boating, hiking, biking and sharing those activities with their 4 children.

Nicole Fisher purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Nicole Fisher chose Utah

The Fisher's chose to purchase a cabin in Duck Creek after visiting with friends who also own a cabin in Duck Creek Pines. Their parents owned a home in Springdale, near Zions National Park. When their parents decided to downsize and move back to Salt Lake, Peter and Nicole knew they wanted a place somewhere in southern Utah to enjoy their favorite place. Duck Creek feels like you're in Jackson Hole or Oregon, but is central to incredible southern Utah's splendid rustic beauty.

What makes this cabin unique

What especially drew the Fisher's to the Welcome Lodge (named after Nicole's grandfather, Lawrence Welcome Fountaine, originally Fontaine-Bienvenu), was the peaceful setting surrounded by serene pine trees and the incredible outdoor spaces the cabin provided included gracious decks and patios.

Paradise in the Pines

  • 5 of 5

We only have praise for this VRBO property. First, let's talk location. It is located in a perfect place close to both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in southern Utah. Both parks are incredible works of nature like nowhere else on earth. There is another park very close by called Cedar Breaks. That is not to be missed as it is a designated Dark Sky Area meaning that star gazing there is amazing, and the vistas from the observation point are breathtaking! Now let's talk about the property. The Welcome Lodge house was simply perfect. This mountain home has every comfort you can imagine. It is welcoming, homey, well kept, and impeccably clean. The kitchen has every pot, pan, utensil, dish, appliance, and basic supplies you could ever want. Everything is labeled and organized. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The property is private and secure. The owners are courteous, accessible, friendly, helpful and always quick to respond to emails, texts, calls. The pictures on the VRBO website do not do this property is amazing in person. We were simply delighted with our stay and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all in a serene and beautiful location. Best ever!

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The Welcome Lodge is a great cabin and very well equipped. It was great for two couples who have very different sleeping patterns, the basement is like it own little apartment.

Wonderful place... wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 began a 16 day tour of Utah and Wyoming and our first stop was the Welcome Home property. The house is well maintained, kitchen abundantly stocked, spacious, comfy and the host was fantastic and very responsive. The property could easily accommodate two families if needed. The area of Duck Creek Village was great and in close proximity to sooooo many places of interest. We enjoyed our excursions to find Welcome Home at the end of the day. We HIGHLY recommend this VRBO property if you are staying in the area.

A wonderful cabin...great location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for only two nights between visiting Bryce Canyon and Zion. We loved it so much, it was hard to leave. Everyone had there own space and bathrooms, which was nice. The beds are comfortable, and the basement is secluded to give personal space also. The pictures do not do this place justice. The outside porch is so relaxing. Probably our only complaint is that there is no AC. During our stay, the day was rather warm, and we are from Louisiana so we like our AC. The nights are cool, so we slept with windows open. Everything else was great though. They have all the necessities you may need. There is also a small gas station and a few restaurants in the town. If you are staying a week, you may want to stop at a larger store in a city to get the main needs. I promise, you will want to stay as much as possible.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. We appreciate your group leaving the cabin in such great condition. I'm sorry about the A/C. At 8500 ft above sea level it's usually ok to cool with fans and open windows. We're sorry it was too hot for you. We'll try to get more fans for each room. We hope you'll visit again in the future.
