About Peter & Liz
Liz, Peter and their daughter live in Cambridge near Harvard Square. Liz is a designer and Creative Director for a high end event planning firm, specializing in creating unique experiences for her clients' parties. She is involved with designing the entire experience, from the theme, to the invitation, to the linens, lighting, and music. She is also an accomplished cook, with a love for French and Italian cuisine. Peter is an entrepreneur. He spent two weeks each summer at Goose Rocks Beach as a kid, inspiring the decision to build a home here. He also spent his formative years in Stockholm, Sweden, and has a love for international travel as a result. He plays golf, cycles, and enjoys water sports. Our daughter loves dancing and being outdoors. She is the ultimate beach bum. She loves Goose Rocks Beach for its calm water and tidal pools, and swimming in the tidal river. Sand castles are an important focus of each visit she makes to the beach.
Peter & Liz purchased this House in 2015
Why Peter & Liz chose Goose Rocks Beach
After five years of searching for a beach house in our favorite place, Goose Rocks Beach, we decided to build our own. We wanted a traditional New England beach home, but with modern amenities and energy efficiency. As a professional designer and accomplished cook, Liz designed the home she always wanted, including a kitchen that includes a professional grade gas range, and a butcher block island bar to congregate around while prepping dinner. As a child, Peter had the experience of spending two weeks each summer at Goose Rocks Beach, riding bikes around the neighborhood and playing tennis at the rec center, and swimming in GRB's tidal river. He wanted to provide his guests with all they need to have the same small community experience. So he picked up a few cruiser bikes, a bocce set and corn hole for the backyard. He put in a back patio for grilling with a table that seats 12, a fire pit, and a deck that faces the setting sun, complete with Adirondack chairs. He also created space for lawn games and adequate yard for kids to run around. Our six year old daughter, had her influence too. The largest bedroom includes two twin beds and a bunk bed, because summer fun is all about sleepovers. Our family would love for you to have a great experience, the experience we have at Goose Rocks Beach, and we've included everything that we could think of to make your stay memorable. And when you stay in our home, you'll also find a list of the best places to eat and drink, walk or bike or golf, and find antiques or art.
What makes this House unique
Goose Rocks Beach, if you haven't yet experienced it, is a unique spot in coastal New England. The neighborhood is a throw back, a place where kids freely ride their bikes, leave them unlocked at the beach and run free until the sun goes down. There is nothing commercial at Goose Rocks Beach. There is a general store and one hotel on the beach road, each of which meld right into the homes along the shore. Our home is set back from the beach by 700 yards, which affords us a half acre of land for outside play, and a space that combines modern amenities with the serenity of beach life. While there are many fine houses in the community, few have a professional grade kitchen, high-end finishes, and can accommodate 10, in actual beds.

Return to Goose Rocks
Our family returned to Goose Rocks and the Robinson's beautiful home after taking last summer off. It was so fun to return to the house we had enjoyed so much. Our grandsons were just that much older to enjoy the beach. Our newest addition, our granddaughter, who is 14 mo. actually loved the beach as well. When the tide is out it's a great place for a new walker!
We only cooked at home once but made a great Lobster Cobb with cooked lobster from Wolff Farm. In addition to Earth which we all love, we tried two new places that were great. Pearl Kennebunk and Oyster Bar and The Lost Fire.( A break from seafood!)
Thank you to the Robinsons for another memorable week!
Perfect Vacation Home
This was our first time renting in the GRB area and it couldn’t have been a better house for our family! The open kitchen/dining room/living room was perfect for what we needed and let us enjoy family time even while preparing meals. The kids loved the outdoor shower and the large yard to run around. The house itself it beautifully designed and decorated. It is well equipped with anything you may need to cook meals, entertain kids (ping pong table kept the kids busy for hours!) or bring to the beach. We did the walk to the beach every day with three kids under 6 and it was doable! Pete was very responsive when we had questions. We highly recommend this house to any family looking to rent in the GRB area.
Eileen, thank you. I'm glad you had a great time and used everything the house and neighborhood has to offer. Hope you return next year! Pete
Just like home
Perfect week at Goose Rocks Beach! Our kids and grandkids fit perfectly in the warm & inviting home...the kitchen was full of activity and we felt like making family meals instead of going out every night like we usually do. The projector in the comfortable basement was a bonus for catching up with our shows and the ping table got lots of use with some serious competition! Thanks to Peter and Liz for this opportunity to continue our love of GRB and share with our children!
Beautiful inside and out
A warm and welcoming home close to beautiful Goose Rocks Beach.
Loved this house and the location!
We spent Thanksgiving here, so not the typical time of year to go to Goose Rocks Beach. It was cold and snowed a couple days. But the scenery was beautiful and the house was perfect for cooking a turkey dinner, playing board games and watching movies! The owners are very gracious - they even bought a potato masher and hand mixer for the house so we would have it for cooking, as we were traveling from California. Would love to come back in the summer!
Beautiful clean home, great location
We spent a week in this lovely Goose Rocks Beach home and had a fabulous experience. The home is newly remodeled so everything is clean, bright and airy. The home is nicely appointed with modern touches and all the comforts and conveniences of home. We have three young children so greatly appreciated access to laundry, toys, books, boardgames and bicycles, outdoor games/toys provided by the owners. The owners were responsive and helpful. The location was perfect. It's just a short walk to the beach and an easy drive to various towns/restaurants close by. We highly recommend this home and hope to visit again soon! I now understand why everyone loves Maine....what a magical place.
Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport has nearly three miles of wide sandy beach. A barrier reef offshore known as Goose Rocks, visible at low tide, helps protect the soft, white sands of the beach. This is a perfect spot for you to spread out the beach blankets, chairs and umbrellas for a fun day of sunbathing, relaxing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and combing the shore for sand dollars. A local favorite activity is to swim the tidal river at high tide at the north end of the beach. Or, at low tide, hike over to Timber Island.
The Goose Rocks Beach neighborhood offers something rare in New England. There is only a single general store and an inn. Other than those two spots, there are no commercial buildings. Also, because it can only be accessed by a couple roads from route 9, the neighborhood is very safe. Kids ride their bikes freely, leave them unlocked at the beach, and run until the sun goes down. It is a throwback for sure.
In the evening, enjoy the comforts of our home to make a family meal. There are several lobster merchants in the area to have that Maine experience. Or head out to any of the great restaurants in Cape Porpoise or Kennebunkport where you'll have great food and be treated to friendly service. It's hard to find a friendlier group of people anywhere.
