About Cate Schultz Mighell
I live in the Seattle area and have enjoyed traveling to the beautiful Lake Wenatchee/Wenatchee River area for years. I am a Life Coach and Author and also, for fun, an aviator adventurer! I love to hear your stories, from our communications and from your cabin journal entries. If you are interested, please inquire about my book, a mystery set in Seattle entitled SILENT SKY. This cabin has seen a lot of laughter, joy, and happiness. My three sons, now in their twenties, still consider this place their "Helmsdeep" - place of sanctuary. I hope that you will love it as we have loved it. Enjoy your stay at River's Edge and please come back often and share it with your friends. Fondly, Cate

Why Cate Schultz Mighell chose Leavenworth
We fell in love with this place immediately. Not too big and not too small. It is close enough to Leavenworth to always have options for shopping and dining and entertainment, but far enough away that we can enjoy the evening away from the tourist crowds. Being right on the river is perfect for those hot summer days of chilling in the sun or river rafting or just hanging out with friends. We are also only a few steps away from the clubhouse, pool, and playground, with extensive kid equipment and even a basketball court, volleyball court, and baseball field! There is even a sledding hill when the snows hit big (which they do sometimes!) In the summer, you can raft from multiple spots upriver right to your doorstep! We are only a half hour away from Stevens Pass, with great skiing, and summer activities as well. Big Lake Wenatchee is just down the road (waterskiing, swimming, beach bathing, camping, boating, etc) and Fish Lake is nearby as well (summer/ice fishing, ice skating, and boat rentals too). Nearby rivers, lakes, mountains, and woods supply endless opportunities for outdoor activities and, even within our neighborhood, numerous maintained greenbelt trails allow you to get into nature for a stroll whenever the urge strikes. The neighborhood roads themselves are quiet and safe, allowing biking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, dog walking, etc. In nearby Plain, the grocery store, hardware/gift store, restaurant, and wineries are all worth a visit. This is a place where there is always something to do . . . or do nothing at all but soak in the peaceful serenity of River's Edge! We know you will love it here!

Great get away.
The cabin was just what we needed, very clean and efficient. It was great being able to have a property that welcomed dogs. It is close to many outdoor adventures. We have already recommended it to our friend.
I will be back. A perfect place to relax, renew and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You don't even need to leave the cabin to enjoy your stay. The owner was wonderful and saw to it that all needs were met. Comfortable and clean. Enjoyed morning coffee on the swing, looking at and listening to the river. Fell asleep on the hammock 2 nights of the three we were there. The sound of the river is very methodical.
Thank you Cate
Thank you so much for staying at River's Edge!
I don't always get to meet my guests, but it was truly a pleasure to meet you, Jeanne, and chat for a while. I do hope you come back soon and that our paths will cross again.
Just What the Doctor Ordered!
We had such a peaceful, lovely stay at Cate's Cabin. Perfect! We'll definitely return.
A Little Bit of Paradise
If we could give Cate and our River's Edge Cabin experience more than a 5 star rating we would. Cate was more than helpful and went way beyond the call of duty to mail us some clothes we left behind, duh. The setting for the cabin is fabulous. We sat by the river every morning with our coffee and by the firepit at night. The sounds of the river and the birds were wonderfully relaxing. The little "dock" extending over the river was perfect for my morning Salute to the Sun. The cabinet is clean, modern and well appointed. We had everything we needed. Everyone we met in Plains was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the Farmer's Market on Saturday. We love Cate's Little Bit of Paradise and hope to return next summer
We're sold! River's Edge is such a sweet spot. So restful and yet everything for some serious family fun. We're bound to become regulars. Thanks, Cate for being such a gracious host.
Great spring break location!
Our family had a wonderful spring break at Cate’s cabin. We were very comfortable and the location was beautiful. We spend every evening sitting by the lake with a campfire!
The quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth is only 25 minutes away by scenic Chumstick Canyon. Shopping, restaurants, entertainment, mini-golf, art shows, and much more can be found in Leavenworth. The city hosts a festival nearly every weekend, from Christmas Tree Lighting to Octoberfest to numerous other seasonal events. In the summer, live theater is held outdoors and quaintly dressed locals help visitors celebrate year-round. This town is well worth a visit!
After enjoying the busy-ness of tourist activities in Leavenworth, come back to your peaceful, quiet little piece of heaven on the river where you can relax away from the crowds. The immediate neighborhood has a big playground, pool (open during summer months), sledding hills, and many greenbelt trails to enjoy.
The tiny town of Plain is only a mile away, with its must-visit Plain Hardware offering espresso, hot soup, wonderful gifts and, yes, even hardware! In the summer, they offer rentals for summer (tubes) and winter (x-country skis) to enjoy the amazing outdoor opportunities.
Also in town is a grocery store, a delicious restaurant, a great little winery, and Mt. Springs Lodge with horse rides, sleigh rides, ziplining, and more.
Going out a little further, Lake Wenatchee is 10 minutes away for boating, and beach relaxation. Fish Lake is another couple minutes down the road. This well-stocked lake is popular for trout fishing and has boat rentals and a little store with everything you need for your day on the lake. Weather dependent, they also have ice skating in the winter!
Stevens Pass is a 30 minute drive away for awesome alpine skiing and boarding, or biking in the summer.
The area surrounding River's Edge has countless opportunities to enjoy shopping, dining, festivals, family activities, and Mother Nature at her finest!
