Shelter Bay Getaways - Cottage Retreats on Lake Superior

Bedrooms 3
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Enjoy the splendor of Fall, the first blooms of Spring, or a gorgeous summer on the shores of Lake Superior.

Our Classic Log Home is comfortable and cozy. The property is located just ten feet from the shore. It is showcased on 275 feet of private shoreline. Our cabin has all the upgrades you'll need without sacrificing rustic charm. Built in the 1930s out of log telegraph poles, it boasts a lovely stone fireplace, a 10' by 30' screened porch, and walls that are 80% glass!

There are three bedrooms upstairs, two of which have queen beds and sixteen-foot glass walls with a panoramic view of Shelter Bay and AuTrain Island. The other bedroom has two twin beds and a forest view. The bathroom is a nice size with a walk in tile/glass shower. The kitchen is all glass for a panoramic view. If cooking isn't your thing, head to the Brownstone Inn, five minutes away, for great home-cooked meals at reasonable prices.

Enjoy the naturalized garden, or tiptoe out into the lake and sunbathe on one of the boulders and watch the seagulls. Enjoy the stars and build a bonfire on still nights. The grounds have been planted with privacy in mind, with pines on the perimeter and mature birch in the center.

The Classic Log Home is a retreat available May - October.

Fall get-away

  • 5 of 5

Returned to the Beach House mid-October for a repeat of last year's wonderful stay. Loved having wi-fi, being able to bring our two older mutts, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of crashing waves, just a few yards from the cabin. All in all, despite rainy weather, we had a wonderful time. Recommendations: The Lagniappe Restaurant in Marquette and the Langenenfeld Outdoor Sculpture Park.

Camp Corinna Property

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful location,we were their in July 2014. It is in the perfect location, about equally close to Marquette and Munising for peace and quiet you cannot beat Corinna,at the end of Shelter Bay Rd.on Lake Superior, beautiful. The cottage itself is much larger than the video shows.A very roomy ,comfortable place with great views of the lake.

I would not recommend Corinna for those who have difficulty on rough terrain, because the shoreline is rugged,I loved it.

One suggestion I would make to the owners is to have a vacuum so guests can properly clean the cottage. The cottage itself is a wonderful place and the locals were very friendly and helpful, there is so much to do and see in the area,we'll have to make a return trip.

What a great find!

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I spent a week at Camp Corinna and it was wonderful. The cabin is quaint and has been tastefully decorated and updated. The owner did a great job with the video so there were not surprises. It was clean and comfortable with great views of Lake Superior. The trees, flowers and rocks provided so much privacy we hardly knew anyone else lived on the road. The owner is great to work with -- answers questions promptly and is very helpful. Camp Corinna is in a perfect location for trips to Pictured Rocks, Marquette, and other sites in the area, but it's also just a great place for a retreat. We are already talking about going back.

August 2013, Family Vacation Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this beautiful little cottage was everything we'd imagined. The cottage itself is wonderful. The rustic charm and cottage feel was maintained, with a little splash here and there of modernity. The shoreline is rocky, but rock hunting is a favorite pastime for us, and our 3 year old LOVED hunting and climbing. There were multiple areas to enjoy sandy Lake Superior beach a short 5-10 minutes away. Marquette or Munising are short drives away. Perfectly magical. Good communication with owner, prompt and everything as stated. GREAT rental. Would recommend and will stay again.

Wonderful visit @ the Beach House

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time at the Beach House--everything was as described. Special bonuses: fabulous sunrises and moonrises over the lake. Would highly recommend this as a rental for a quiet get-away with beautiful scenery at the cabin and nearby. Easy drives to Seney National Refuge, waterfalls and more.

Great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a very fun and relaxing week-long vacation at the Classic Log Cabin. The cabin is rustic, charming and very comfortable. The location on the shore of Lake Superior was perfect. We enjoyed kayaking along the Pictured Rocks National Shoreline, day hikes and just hanging around the cabin soaking in the magnificent view of Lake Superior. Can't wait to go again!
