First time staying in a villa. Two of us regular visitors to Crete and still enjoying it, three of the party familiar with it and the remaining two looking forward to their first visit to the island.
The situation of the villa blew everyones mind, what a fantastic view, every window looking out over the sea, woken by the sun rise.
Each of the bedrooms had loads of space, as had the large kitchen / dining area and still that view out to sea.
The swimmers enjoyed the infinity pool, warm enough to swim in.
If you hire a car, practice doing hill climbs before you go, as the drive up to the villa has a steep gradient and a hairpin turn half way up. Thankfully we had decided to use taxi's which cost around 3-4 euro's per person to go to either Ag. Nik or Elounda.
Try and find Angel and his Mercedes S Class, an experience you will never forget, he makes you feel like royalty.
Now no holiday is ever perfect and there were a couple of things that could have been better. We were greeted by Mike who informed us that the lock to the sliding door entrance had been broken by the previous hirer's. Try as he did, it was still broken when we left a week later. The Satellite channels on the T.V. did not work. Mike did his best and even called the owner. Alas, at the end of the week it still did not work. Perhaps a good thing as we may have been sat in front of it watching the Ryder Cup. Perhaps Mike was trying to sort things out for the Americans.
One of the circular seats might just get through the season before it finally collapses. Mike assured me that the owner has two new ones on order from somewhere in Asia. Finally, will the owner or Mike please put something on the sliding doors to remind geriatrics like myself that it is glass and not an opening. The swelling has subsided.
Nevertheless, we had a great time, all the seven of us. I would recommend the villa, simply for it's situation and the fantastic view.
If it was given a little TLC and Mike was sent on a course for Television engineers and locksmiths, I would give it 5 stars.
