Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
At the moment I can only give one star
We rented this apartment for three weeks July 21-August 11. When we entered into the contract last year we did not see the previous complaint about the AC not functioning properly. When we arrived this was in fact the case. The apartment was so hot and the electric did not work properly. The main fuse kept blowing. It blew a dozen times. When we told the owner, she said this was because she was not allowed to have the proper electric (which turned out not to be the case.) While the owner did "try" to fix the AC during our stay, it was not properly fixed until 13 days into our rental. (It was only fixed after she replaced the entire system and upgraded the electric.) When we discussed the AC issue and how the apartment was hot and uncomfortable the owner was rude and unsympathetic. We did ask for a partial refund. We changed our plans to avoid staying in the hot apartment and we reminded her she had rented an apartment with AC and that is why we choose this location. We are currently trying to talk to the owner to resolve the issue. At the moment she has been unresponsive. VRBO has asked us to resolve it with her and we'd be happy to, however, we have gotten nowhere. The owner has yelled at me, called me a liar, and stated that she did me a favor by putting AC in her apartment. I'd avoid this apartment and this owner. Maybe things will improve, but so far this is the status.
Mrs. Rebecca made a negative review of our beautiful house because she wanted free Holiday from us. She said that if we had returned all the money paid for the apartment (in this beautiful house in the center of Sorrento) she would not have made a bad review.
We did not return the money as the lady claimed and she did this bad review.
Reviews are important but can not be a tool to blackmail people.
Our apartment is among the most beautiful places of Sorrento, is located just 5 meters from the city center, overlooking the streets and the most important square of Sorrento, is very refined with precious marble and wood. It is true that the air conditioning in one room did not work for 2 days, but not in the whole apartment, as the lady falsely says.
Air conditioners are machines, are electrical engines that can break, we have immediately repaired and then completely replaced the air conditioning of that room, because we repeat, in the entire house the rest of the air conditioner machines worked well.
The lady left the house like a pigsty, with blankets lying on the ground, dirty dishes, glasses and trash everywhere, really a mess.
All customers have always made great compliments for this beautiful apartment, the facilities work great and the view is beautiful. The truth is that lady wanted the holiday for free and we can not accept this.
Great location, lacklustre amenities
The apartment is fantastically located and has wonderful views of the piazza surrounding streets . We found the set up a little unusual for the size and number of beds. There is only one North American style shower which is on the second level, with access via a walk through of a bedroom. The second full bathroom has a bath tub with a shower attachment that has no wall hook - easy fix that is recommended. We were greeted on time and received a warm welcome from Maria who was helpful with all our questions. There is a washer /dryer, however remember to buy detergent . We thought there was some on hand and unfortunately we were stuck the last night searching a store to buy some . The living space is very large , however it is not set up for people to use. if your are 3-6 people there is limited and awkward seating in the living room. The AC worked in the kitchen , however the bedroom units did not work, so be prepared if it is during hot weather . It was a disappointing last day , as we had misunderstandings around departure arrangements. We were told a certain time and this changed that morning creating some frustration. Overall , a great place if you are looking for space, cleanliness and awesome location
Warning - Under renovations! Noisy and no privacy
Major exterior construction is underway on the property and this was concealed from us. To our surprise and disappointment we arrived to find huge scaffolding down one entire side of the building, rendering 6 of the 8 windows in the apartment unusable. Workers began at 7am yelling, sledgehammering and grinding. We had no privacy and our sense of security was greatly affected as they were working outside of old doors that had poor locks. It spoiled our stay in Sorrento. Avoid this property if you can. They have a high rating but clearly lack integrity. When we told the manager we were not pleased she did not think to inform us about the construction we were offered an extra night, which we could not use due to other “paid in full” accommodations following it. We asked for a partial refund as compensation instead and received no reply after two attempts. Be ware! The workers we spoke to said the construction would last another 3-4 months. You have the right to know this before booking this property. This trip meant a lot to our family and it was very disappointing to be deceived about this property.
I apologize again for the inconvenience of the rennovation and for not getting back to the message you left us few days after your departure.
The scaffolding have been taken off 2 days after your departure and there are no more rennovation going on at the apartment or the building.
The workers you spoke with, clearly did not speak english well enough and probably meant to say that the works went on for almost 4 months, instead than a couple, because of the bad weather we had the past winter.
During the entire time of the rennovation (stucco and painting basically) of the exterior of the building we kept the apartment closed.
We were told from the company that we could have open the bookings from the 1st of May. Unfortunately they took 2 extra weeks.
As you also mentioned in your review we offered an extra night at the apartment to compensate the inconvenience. We never received an asnwer to that offer or we would have gladly help you find another accomodation for your stay and gave you the refund for the nights you would have not spent at our apartment.
Great apartment in great area
We stayed at this apartment for three nights with our 3 college age kids. It had more than enough room for us and we loved the location. We could walk everywhere, to shops, restaurants and the marinas. Staff was very easy and friendly to work with. We hope to return some day!
Our Spring 2017 stay at Tasso Square apartment was prefection
We stayed for a week in early April 2017 (family of 5, with our three adult children). The apartment is every bit as nice as the pictures with a perfect location overlooking Tasso Square. It was great to people watch from the balcony with some wine and cheese in hand. Michele (local contact along with Heidi), was very helpful - gave us a run through on how everything worked in the apartment (washer, dryer, WiFi, trash recycle schedule, etc). He was also available via phone and helpful with a few questions we had during the stay (even his restaurant recommendation was excellent). I really have no criticisms - perfect location and perfect place.
We loved this apartment. Located right off Tasso a Square, about a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal. It is very spacious, especially the living room. There is a grocery store 2 blocks away. The manager met us in the square and walked us to the apartment and explained the basics. We parked in a garage about 2 blocks away, $27 Euro per 24H. The manager explained that you cannot run more than two AC units without popping the main breaker, downstairs. Fairly typical for older buildings. We ran the dryer and two AC units and it popped, but it was a quick fix. Towels, including beach towels are present. The master bedroom queen bed is pretty firm, bearable but firm. Apartment is on second floor accessed by stairs. We left the car in the garage for three days and took the ferry to Capri and Positano. Highly recommend that. The Abata pizza place is one block away and superb.
