needs some attention
This property could do with a refit. The internal lay out is a little strange and seemed full of random furniture, which served no purpose. The beds, apart from the one double, were really uncomfortable and the bedrooms/bathrooms were lacking basic necessities. There wasn't proper air con installed, just an ancient unit upstairs, in the huge pointless space that we didn't ever use
Thanks for your comment, Jo. The property is a perfect value for money as it has a private pool, parking, restaurants area in a walking distance, bus & taxi stop, and just 5 minutes from the beach...everything you may need fora nice stay. About the house, the layout is great for a family or group with two living rooms and bedrooms with comfortable beds. We hope you can come back in a future visit to Málaga to discover that everything is better than you thought after the fist stay.
House is in a very nice neighborhood
I want to start by saying that this house worked very well for the seven of us. The kids loved the pool and the house was very clean. It is conveniently located near commerce…. restaurants, grocery store, bank and taxis. Try the award winning Russian Potato Salad at Verum. It is about a 15 minute walk to a very nice beach and a little more going back up the hill. It’s about an 8 euro taxi ride to the city center. We got around without a car easily. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio even though it is on a busy street and where there is a dining table. The house appears to be for sale so the attention to detail is limited so that is why I am only giving it 3 stars. It was lacking waste baskets in the bathrooms, only had 2 wine glasses and we had to wash the dishes before we could use them…. someone had put them away dirty. The beds are comfortable cots which are short so all of the adults feet hung over the beds. The kitchen and the upstairs bedroom are very dark. After rereading previous comments it looks like the upstairs water heater is an ongoing issue. We contacted the agent by WhatsApp and he instructed us to check the breaker switch near the front door, which solved the problem of no hot water upstairs. On VRBO it mentions that there is air conditioning, but it is only in the family room upstairs. Luckily we were there at the end of May and it cooled down at night so we could open the windows. The property management agent was responsive and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and were able to overlook the house’s few shortcomings.
Malaga Villa - April 2019
We stayed at this villa in early April 2019.
The booking was easy and person from management co was present to check us in on day of arrival.
We had a few issues straight away. The weather was unusually cold for Malaga for that time of the year but the heating in the villa wasnt switched on, which meant the house was quite cold. We did switch on the heating but they being storage ones dint provide any immediate releif.
There is a fireplace downstairs but there wasnt any firewood provided. We had to buy for ourselves during the stay.
We also realised that of the two boilers in the property only one downstairs was in working order, meaning all 7 of us had to use the downstairs bathrooms. Also the capacity isnt large enough meaning water would run cold after one or two persons using hot water.
Another issue we had was that from first night onwards the light would switch off if heating/ boiler/cooker in kitchen were used simultaneously ( which is inevitable at some point in the stay esp mornings ) We contacted the owner as it was a weekend. They were very helpful but couldnt remedy issues straight away as it was the weekend.
Otherwise the property is spacious, clean and well maintained. Linen and towels were provided. Kitchen is small but workable.
There is a washing machine and iron available to use.
Theres a double garage but with 2 single doors making parking a big car tricky. Otherwise parking was off road .
Its a very good location in terms of mainly good villas around , with amenities available at walking distance. The promenade is closeby too and Malaga city centre is a 15-20 mins drive.
Would like to mention owners were very helpful throughout and the company compensated us for the initial inconvenience we had.
Good accomodation in a good location of Malaga !
Thanks for your stay and review. We have rented the house so many times in the last few years and there has been no problems like these before. Of course, it was bad lucky. However, despite the inconveniences suffered with the water heater (which was replaced immediately) and the lights switch (external problem related to the electric company, not the house), we knew how to solve everything in the shortest possible time, as well as compensate for the inconvenience caused. We sincerely hope you can come back in the future to continue enjoying the house with your family and discover that, unfortunately, it was punctual bad lucky as the house is perfect for families as you could see and well reviewed. Thanks again and kind regards.
Great villa, helpful host and good location
Family of 9 visited the villa and we were not disappointed. Great size villa and the pool is big enough to have hours of fun in.
Supermarket, restaurants, bank and taxis very close. Beach and more restaurants are walkable however be prepared for a steep hill on the way home.
We had a power cut due to a faulty boiler and the host was very helpful. Got an electrician in to the villa and fixed the problem no bother.
Overall, great holiday enjoyed in a great villa. Thanks
Thanks for your review, Malcolm! It´s been and will be a pleasure to host you at any of HOMINGBOOK exclusive properties.
Wonderful Villa! Just as pictured!
Wonderful service from our hosts and the Villa was immaculate. It is as lovely as it appears in the pictures. The bedrooms are spacious and the two living spaces are ideal for a larger family. We just wished for a DVD player, but that is minor. We were happy to have a garage for the car. A quick walk down the hill takes you to a great coffee bar and empanadas stand, and a great supermarket with a wonderful bakery in the front. Try the chocolate covered elephant ears! Continue downhill to the beach area and enjoy a stroll, or catch a quick and cheap bus to the city center to visit the Alcabaza, Cathedral and more.
Thank you so much, Kerry! It´s been and will be a pleasure to have you as guests in any of HOMINGBOOK exclusive properties.
