Spacious one bedroom and large terrace with Boboli Garden view
This apartment was the perfect location for us, right on the other side of the Arno in a restaurant filled piazza, but only a block from the Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace. The 6th floor apartment with elevator was larger than it looked online and has a beautiful terrace with almost a 360 view. Convenient and walkable to almost everywhere from great restaurants/trattorias, historic sites , shopping and a supermarcato. Cheerful and bright but also had window shades to keep the light out at night. The kitchen wasn't large but you could cook if you wanted to (we only have coffee, breakfast and snacks in). It has a clothes washer (no dryer) and a dishwasher. Our check in went well with Isabel and she was very good with communication throughout. Minor things, there is a slight sewage smell on and off in the bathroom, guessing from being in an older building and area of town, the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom and up the hall so not really an issue. Shower is small, although bathroom itself was roomy. As in these older apartments, there are usually many keys (some very large) to get in and out through all the doors, so you will need good pockets or a purse. The couch could use a new cover, maybe an umbrella outside in the terrace and some cushions for the seats. We were unable to locate a corkscrew which I assume was taken by a previous tenant. All in all we loved this apartment and will absolutely stay there again hopefully for longer.
This place smells.
This place smells of sewage. Due to prior comments I emailed the owner/manager prior to booking regarding concerns about the sewage smell. He clearly stated the the issue was taken care of months ago. It was not. The stairway smells. The elevator smells and the apartment smells. While we were there Florence did experience several hours of rain which seemed to decrease the stink but it was still present. I was lied to. If there is a defect or a concern about a property than be honest about it. I would not recommend this place in spite of it’s other attributes.
Great location - amazing views!
Overall we really enjoyed this apartment. Everything was great except for the smell. I read some reviews of a bad sewage smell from the bathroom which I was worried about - when we arrived we noticed it. We also noticed sometimes the smell was near the porch which you could smell from the bedroom. It wasn’t constant - and I imagine there may not be a ton they can do as the building are so old. Maybe charge a little less as it’s fairly unpleasant. That would be the only reason for giving it a 4 star. Other than that - the place was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the location was incredible, and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. Photos didn’t do justice!
The highlight of the apartment is the lovely private terrace overlooking the Boboli gardens. An umbrella would have been nice since it was too hot during the day to sit out, but evenings were lovely. The apartment itself was very spacious and bright. It could do with a face lift but on the whole was very comfortable. Kitchen was tight for actual cooking but fine for preparing breakfast and snacks. Lodcation was fabulous.
Overall we enjoyed our stay! Location and view get top marks!
The unit might be due for some maintenance, such as broken fridge handle and sofa cover was due for a wash. The kitchen is small but still supplied with all the basics. We enjoyed dining on the Terrace for some relaxation time!
Spacious rooms and stunning views!
It was the perfect location to walk to any location within Florence. The rooms were spacious. The balcony offered almost 360 views.
