Why Tara Strauss chose San Diego County

Mission Beach is ideally situated to provide you the opportunity to enjoy the best of what San Diego has to offer. Centrally located with easy access to all major attractions, and just one block from either the beach or the bay, arguably San Diego's best feature. With only one thoroughfare providing limited access to the South Mission Beach properties, this area is quieter and more peaceful than the nearby neighborhoods of North Mission and Pacific Beach, which experience more traffic and activity. If you're in the mood for a little nightlife, two classic local watering holes, the Beachcomber and the Pennant, are just a few minutes' walk away, as well as convenient markets and delicatessens.

What makes this apartment unique

We think this property is the ideal place for your San Diego getaway, whether you're a couple looking for a romantic retreat, a group of friends on vacation, or a family looking for fun activities for parents and little ones alike. First floor location gives you immediate access to the beach and bay. A spacious tandem garage provides off-street shelter and protection for two vehicles. Take advantage of our complimentary surfboards, and boogie boards to enjoy this perfectly-situated location. Enjoy outdoor barbecuing on our spacious front patio or cook up a meal in our well-appointed kitchen. Watch TV or a Netflix movie on our flat-screen TV, and connect to complimentary wireless internet for your electronic devices.

Great, comfortable stay, walking to the water

  • 5 of 5

This beach house on Misson Beach was great. We were close to both beach and bay so we didn't have to pile kids in the car to go to the water. There were boogie boards and towels and sand toys and even surf boards for our use. It was spacious (Bigger than I expected) and suitable for kids. The patio is a fabulous bonus with a great table and grill, we used both for dinner and spent time on the patio. The kitchen was functional and had most everything you would need to cook there (we did). The house is on the southern end of Mission Beach where it was much less crowded on the beach than it was further north when we were there, which was great. Two big pluses compared to other VRBOs we stayed at were 1. great sheets and bedding. Often these are where people cut cost. The bedding was very comfortable. 2. Enough meal seating for all of us. Often a VRBO will sleep 8+ and only have a small dining room table for four. We sat six and inside and since it has benches, we could have easily sat 8. Outside is a table for 6 and a smaller table too. The only thing to be warned about (and this is plainly stated in the description) is the very tight garage. Our minivan only had an inch on either side with one mirror folded in. It would have been pretty tricky without a backup camera! We were so comfortable, it felt like home.

I have rented many properties in Mission Beach and other locations and this was by far the best. The street is quiet and close to the bay. we spent many hours enjoying the beautiful patio. Everything was provided including beach chairs, towels and coolers making it especially nice for guests who fly in. Tara was amazing to work with. I highly recommend this property.

Great place for our family and would stay again

  • 4 of 5

House was clean and comfortable. Fantastic location! And I really appreciated that they allow pets. Our dogs had never had a chance to play on a beach and I wanted to see the old guys get that chance:) Garage is narrow but nice to have (made my hubby do the parking!) We had everything we needed.

We had some trouble with the internet but Tara helped resolve that as needed. The space was great! Steps away from the ocean and the bay, quiet and well kept. Thanks!
