Good location but needs some working on & could be great place.

  • 3 of 5

We did enjoy our stay. The rental was a good arrangement for us. But there were a few issues I don’t know if you’re aware of:

There were only 2 washcloths for 8 people for the 4 night stay. Hand towels had to be used for baths. Had I known, I would have brought my own.

The shower curtains has pink muck & black mildew all along the bottom of them both.

The guest bathtub was dirty also.

The sheets felt dirty & were all wrinkled like they had been slept on.

The sheets & comforter blanket for use that could only be used for one sofa was each rolled up, like however long ago they had been used, they were put up that way & not washed. There were stains too that looked like blood on there.

The ironing board cover was dirty, so I put it too with everything else to be washed. I did wash & dry & fold several loads of towels & rugs were washing when we left.

There was only 1 extra blanket to use. But later I did find 2 newer blankets folded up down in the closet that could have been used. They were hard to find. A couple of us froze that 1st night because of not enough blankets & not feeling able to use bedding that felt unclean. My husband & I could not sleep under the bed covers on the sheets. And one of my sons, as well. No one slept on the sofa mattress itself.

The rug in the entry was quite dirty, but the main thing with it was the corner being turned up & stumbling on it frequently.

The TV remotes for the master BR wouldn’t work. It had to be changed directly on the TV. The ones in the LR would not access other channels. Instructions on their use would be a good thing for guests.

The light to the fan in the master BR must have had a short or something. It came on for about a minute maybe & refused to come back on.

The bottom lock on the entry was virtually impossible to unlock from the outside. It took forever to get it to work. The top lock was the only one we could lock & get back in with.

I’m not trying to be mean or pick apart everything. There are many good things about that unit, but I just wanted you to be aware of these issues that can be changed. Cleanliness of where people are sleeping is important to everyone. A regular cleaning of all sheets & comforters & bedding would be a great thing for new guests. And shower liners can be washed for each stay; and can be replaced inexpensively. And having what was said to be provided is important, i.e. washcloths. It was a good happy family time. The place just needs attention & cleaning.

Just what we needed.

  • 4 of 5

We lived here for 6 weeks while our new home was being built. It is in a great location: in proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Fully stocked with everything we needed, but definitely needs a deep cleaning. Rust, dust, and some bugs. Had a pipe burst during our stay which required 2 days of plumbing and drywall work, which was inconvenient for my night-shifter husband. I will say that Summer Smith, with Amelia Island Getaways, gave amazing customer service, providing him with a separate place to stay for those 2 days and responding to calls promptly. The price was definitely right for a long-term stay.

Our family LOVED this condo!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for our family of 4! The kids loved the bunk beds as they have always begged for them at home. We loved the private Beachwood Pool and the beach was just a short walk. We took long walks at night which was wonderful because the plantation has so many great trails and things to see. We would love to come back again!

Clean and well located but a few problems

  • 3 of 5

The location of this condo is excellent--beautiful, quiet, tree-shaded resort area close to Jacksonville. The decorating is tasteful, nice artwork on the walls, premises clean, mattresses excellent, plenty of hot water, kitchen well supplied.

However, a stale odor, perhaps just from being closed up, permeated the condo. The lock for the door to the outside balcony is broken (but this wasn't a major issue since it is a 2nd-floor balcony). The elevator was broken, so this would be a problem for handicapped. The main difference in this and other VRBO rentals we have used is that this one is not "homey" or welcoming--hardly any books or DVDs on site, no games, not much to make it feel like anyone loves this place. Also, there are 3 tv's, as stated, but only 2 of them worked, and there were hardly any channels available and very poor reception.

Bottom line, the price was right, and this place works fine as a home base if you don't plan to spend much time in your room and will be out sightseeing most of the day. It's a gorgeous area for sightseeing, incidentally!

Cute condo with short, convenient walk to omni pool and beach!

  • 4 of 5

First impression was well maintained and upgraded condo with a perfect set up for my 3 kids. A few essentials were missing like trash bags and soap in the master bathroom. Also, the drain in the master shower is severely clogged resulting in the water rising to my shins during my short shower. We had to use the shower in the other bathroom the rest of our stay. Not by fault of the owners, the elevator was down the entire stay. It would have been nice to know that before hand. It was tough to get all our stuff down and up each day. Overall it was a great vacation and we would rent again.
