Excellent location, lots of space great property

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were in Lenoir for a 1 day event. We were looking for a place that was close to the event downtown and easy to get our stuff in and out of. This property is clean, very spacious (several different seating areas), had a good working area to get emails and other work done, well decorated, very convenient (1 block from Main Street), bed was comfortable, and we were able to park directly in front of the door each time we moved our vehicle. I don't think we ever heard a noise from outside of the unit (Friday night and Saturday morning) and there was plenty of privacy with the curtains on the front window. The unit now has good WiFi and a Roku TV, so plenty of connection. It is walking distance (1-3 blocks) to a nice coffee shop, restaurants, brewpub, taproom, etc. We'll definitely be staying again for this event next year.

Unsatisfactory

  • 1 of 5

This property is apparently some kind of business by day - perhaps massage therapy. It has a large open space with six comfortable chairs and a sofa. There is a small bedroom off this space - with a large picture window into the open space and with no curtains. The bedroom appears to be still under construction with trim missing and painting not complete. Light switch had no switch plate. There is no storage - no chest and no closet. Two or three small rooms appeared at first to be closets but were in fact full of construction material, tools and assorted junk. The kitchen is as pictured in the ad. However, when we arrived and started to retrieve some ice we discovered there was no ice and not even trays to make ice. The shower which one reviewer claimed to be big enough for two is in fact barely large enough for one full grown man. It did however come equipped with a dirty wash cloth apparently left by the previous renter. No bath soap was provided. The hath vanity had a mirror above it at a height of about four feet - fine if you're four feet tall but rather worthless if you're six foot four like me. Parking is on street. We had no problem since we arrived Saturday afternoon. Pointers for finding additional parking would be a good idea. There is a church next door and the wall must be paper thin as we heard the pianist begin practicing at about 9AM Sunday. It was very loud but fortunately she was quite good. Bed was small but quite comfortable. Air conditioning worked very well. WiFi worked well. There is no television. Didn't bother us but some might expect one. Had I checked into a comparably priced motel/hotel I would have quickly left. I have had several good experiences with VRBO - this was not one of them!

Owner's Response: John- The space is for guests only and is not a business although there is a handy desk for writing and a massage table is present! The whole main floor is for the guest comfort. There are curtains on the front windows that provide complete privacy from outside.. In the bathroom drawers you will find shampoo and extra toilet paper. The towels and wash cloths are stacked on a sitting bench next to the shower in the spacious bathroom. The small refrigerator is not meant to make ice. There is ample parking on the street and behind the building. I am sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. It is a unique space that many enjoy for it's location, spaciousness, comfort and cleanliness as well as character, but it is not for someone that prefers a hotel experience but is looking for the cheapest place to stay.

Great place for my MIL

  • 4 of 5

We booked this location for my MIL for her two week stay in NC. She loved it, it was a quiet respite for her from our hectic household. She loved being able to get up and walk to local shops but being close enough to our home to go on outings and come and go as she pleased

Amazing Space

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival it was easy to see that this was going to be a special place.

I was looking for somewhere quaint to go with a nice warm feel. Boy did

I find that and so much more. Lenoir is a great place to visit with a downtown

that easily spins your head around enough to almost believe you are walking

down the streets 50 years ago.

The loft was so beautiful. Hardwood floor in the open space and carpet in the

bedroom. The kitchen provides a small refrigerator and microwave as well

as the most adorable breakfast nook. The bathroom was huge and very

inviting. The shower is big enough for two:)

The location is in walking distance (real walking distance...you don't have to be a marathon runner)

of great shops and restaurants. I could go on and on, but then you would be wasting your time reading instead of booking this Loft and having an amazing time. I will definitely be back.

Liz was absolutely awesome. Everything was very simple from the first communication to the check in process. She took care of everything to include tremendous suggestions for lunch, & dinner.

Hope this helps, now go create memories!
