Nice, neat and warm
Our stay was great. This was a nice place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. I love the area.I would stay there again and recommend it to my friends.
Larry and Cheryl
Nice place for a couple to stay and enjoy a picturesque area of the UP. Al the furnishings worked and the beds were comfortable. The property would probably be best for up to three people. Five people might find it crowded. The washer and dryer were a bonus! It would have been a plus if the Direct TV would have worked. We didn't come to watch TV, but I would have enjoyed watching the Thursday Night NFL game. Overall, a great place, a wonderful and interesting town, and a great vacation!
Rental is in a great location. beds are comfy & place is clean
We enjoyed our stay, the place was nice, clean and in a great location to walk. The biggest negative is the bathroom set ups are not ideal for 2 couples. Having the main bathroom with shower in one of the bedrooms makes you fell like you are invading on the other couples privacy. At night to not disrupt the other couple we used the bathroom in the garage, what a pain as every time you open the door it makes loud noise. Nothing can be done about the bathroom issue, we made it work. A few notation that we had put in a note on the table when we left : The right arm on the light brown recliner was about to fall a-part, there was a big bee-hive outside the garage where you park, bathroom toilet in the garage seemed very loose and ready to become unsealed at the base, & the sliding door is very difficult to lock once opened, we struggled for at-least 15 - 20 mins both time we had it opened to get it locked before we would leave. Mostly gave this places a 4 star due to cleanliness & location are great, but the bathroom issue is what kept me from giving it a 5 star.
I am standing here shaking my head in disbelief at this review. I just don’t even know what to say. I have never had such an ungrateful guest. Our property is rented EVERY week during our tourist season....it gets tired, as do we. We know there are things that needs fixed during each off season. We get to them as soon as we can. We are one of the least expensive (possibly the least expensive) in Grand Marais. Our location is fabulous! Our house is spotless! You can walk to everything within two blocks! Resteraunts, breweries, shopping, the beach, museums and so much more! I am sad that someone felt like they needed to look at my place like it was there job to inform me of everything that needs attention rather than enjoy their vacation....what more do I say?
Great Cozy Getaway in Grand Marais
My squeeze and I really enjoyed our 3 day stay at this place the weekend after Labor Day up in God's country. Very clean and quiet with privacy as it is situated at the dead-end of the street. Just two blocks from town and the shore. Highly recommended. You could tell that the owners really care about their guests. Only drawback: the two beds are small and with the cot the cottage seems to sleep only 3 instead of the 5 as advertised.
So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and found our accommodations clean and comfortable. If you were to compare us with other vacation rentals properties in the price category you would find that our sleeping arrangements for 5 are quite generous. Nonetheless we take your comments to heart and we were already working on upsizing the beds for 2019.
Location, convenience, comfort, and clean!
Babe's Place was perfect for our visit. It is within short walking distance of the main street and beach and very close to the eastern entrance to Pictured Rocks National Shore. The place was extremely clean, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and even had enclosed garage space! My husband and I hiked the Chapel Basin Mosquito Creek Loop so the above mentioned strengths were important. We really appreciated this homey cabin. Great place!
Don't let the outside give you any doubts. This place was very nice for what we needed. We had a very relaxing time and would stay here again. Even though it ended be much further away than I had planned from outing we still were very please with the place.
