Best rental ever, beautiful location, beautiful cabin! Highly recommend!
We will definitely be staying here again if its available on our next trip! Glenn was awesome, updated us on the weather as it had just snowed the night before our arrival, he shoveled and salted the driveway, and everything was very convenient! The cabin was gorgeous and overlooks the mountains, and equipped with all of the essentials; towels, sheets, extra pillows, pots, pans, spices, etc. The cabin was warm and welcoming, firewood was already cut and ready to go. All rooms were very clean! The master bedroom has it's own bathroom, and the water in both bathrooms is hot and we had no problems with running out of hot water! There is a hot tub on the lower deck, and the views from the hot tub are fantastic!
Additionally, since the cabin is actually in the ski resort, all cars have to come through the manned front gate, which made us feel secure.
Cell phone service can be spotty, but there is internet and a landline provided. If you would rather tube than ski/ snowboard, there are at least two tubing locations near the resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and plan to come back!
AMAZING hospitality & place. We will back back to this one.
We were hurricane Irma evacuees, & Glen made this an experience to remember. He was more than helpful. The place was clean & had plenty of sleeping options. The view is phenomenal & we enjoyed the hot tub every night. We will back back to Wolf Laurel & plan on booking this place again if still available. Great unexpected vacay. :)
Very Basic but Good Value
First, the positives-
Great view, great location, nice layout, nice kitchen, responsive owner
Room for improvement-
I think the house is under renovation and not quite "there yet".
The linens were the worst part. Very old and dated. Need to invest in some decent sheets, blankets and towels. The decor was very early 90's. Just felt old but has great potential.
Thanks for your review. I actually built this house in 2009 and bought all linens, sheets, towels brand new thereafter. I will incorporate some of your suggestions but I am not sure how I can renovate a home that was only built seven years ago??
Well-suited cabin in gorgeous location
Loved the view, the cabin's architecture, and the ease of instructions from the owner. Highly recommend for a weekend in the mountains.
Glen was very helpful in his email about the property. The views are beautiful and the Wolf Laurel Resort property is extremely beautiful, but extremely large. We were impressed with the resort. The house appeared in a maintenance/renovation mode. The kitchen lacked many things you would need to do heavy cooking. We had to drive to Mars Hill and purchase several items for cooking. The chairs and table on the deck we not in good condition, but we still managed to enjoy the property and the sites.
Nice cabin with a great view convenient to skiing
Glenn was very helpful letting us rent the cabin for the weekend at the last minute. He waved the cleaning fee since he didn't have time to go up and get it completely ready. All we really had to do was make the beds and put a few things up since he was working up there that morning. The cabin is nice with a great view. The cabin has three bedrooms and a futon in the family room. It plenty of room for our family, we had 7 people with us. I think 8 would be the most for it though. One bedroom has a set of bunk beds and two people can sleep on the fouton. But the couch is just a small love seat, not big enough to sleep on. We thought it could use more seating in the family room. He has a TV, DVD Player, VCR and ROKU in the family room. With a pretty good collection of videos to watch. We never could get anything to play through the ROKU so we watched a couple DVD's. There is a two person size hot tub but we didn't use it.
We had a great time and appreciate Glenn accommodating us at the last minute like he did.
