This historic apartment building has been restored to its former 1920’s glory.
The private suites feature hardwood floors throughout open floor plans. Huge original casement wavy glass windows filter magnificent natural light. Each apartment is creatively decorated with local art, antiques and modern amenities that epitomize the chic eclecticness of everything Asheville.
Its central location is just a few blocks to restaurants, bars and grocery stores. It’s less than 1 mile to downtown and Grove Park Inn. 2 miles to Beaver Lake and 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Pkwy and the Biltmore Estate. There is 1 queen size bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Each apartment has a 39” flat screen HD TV, WiFi, stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, microwave and washer/dryer access.

About Shay Amber Bollt
My husband and I have a great love of historic architecture, antiques and art. We have been restoring old homes in Asheville since 2000. In 2013, we decided to combine our passions by creating these inspired spaces for guests to stay while they explore all the vibrant culture and beautiful mountains found in and around Asheville. The result is our newly renovated apartment building.

Beautiful, clean suite in a nice neighborhood
This was one of our best bnb experience ever. The place is clean and decorated with taste, fully equipped and located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. There are no mosquitoes or insects to be found (very important to us).
All of these qualities let us feel at home right away, and throughout the whole stay.
Shay and David were very helpful and recommended nice restaurants and activities to do in the area. They were reactive to answer our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely book again!
I was very happy during my stay. The apartment is large, clean, and nicely appointed. I especially appreciated the front room, which is windowed and, with the large tree outside, felt a bit like being in a treehouse.
We really enjoyed our stay. Really cute place. The kitchen and all the decorating really was well-done. Also, the location was perfect for us.
Comfortable ,clean, interesting
Loved the charm of this apartment. Spacious for the two of us. Everything we needed was available. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful tree out front.
Simplicity, convenience, & value.
We rented The Starling in late March, ‘18. After searching for hours for just the right location, with a reasonable price we settled on The Starling. We were unfamiliar with Asheville, and weren’t sure where to stay, but this location was very close to everything. The apartment is within a 3-5 minute drive to very good grocery stores and restaurants, 5 minutes to Downtown Asheville, 10-15 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, and within a half hour or so to some of the most scenic locations along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The apartment is 4 units, with on street parking. It was easy to get close to the front door for loading and unloading. After looking at the street view on Google maps, it appears the owners have done work to the entry area by replacing older unlevel brick, with new sidewalks.
When you walk into the apartment, it’s as if you’re transported back in time when you see the stucco exterior, arched entryways, wood floors and hinged, swinging windows. It’s a reminder of simplicity in life. We loved sleeping with the windows open and having a gentle breeze. We were especially surprised of just how quiet it was when we awoke Sunday morning.
The location made it easy to drop in for a quick rest and regrouping throughout the day, and it was always a welcome site when looking to unwind at the end of the evening.
This apartment has all the basic necessities, the location was very convenient, and the cost was reasonable. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.
Comfortable and roomy apartment
We stayed in the Starling apartment for 6 nights and really enjoyed it. Super comfortable bed, close to downtown, lovely decor, very quiet neighborhood, and pleanty of space. My only complaint is that they did not supply sufficient paper products. No tissues, no napkins, and not nearly enough toilet paper or paper towels for 6 days..had to run out and buy some. I would not have expected to have to bring those items. Other than that, it was wonderful.
Henrietta House is located less than 1 mile from Downtown Asheville and less than 1 mile the Grove Park inn. Set in a quiet urban neighborhood close to fine restaurants and shopping.

Check-in is at 4pm or anytime after unless special arrangements are made with owner. Check-out is 11am or earlier unless special arrangements are made with owner. $1900 is our monthly rate. Please let us know exact dates you are looking for, and we will do our best to accommodate you, if available. Full refund is given if cancelation is 30 days prior to check-in. No refund is given within 15 days of check-in. Rates are based on 2 person occupancy. There will be an extra cleaning fee of $30 added for 3-4 person occupancy.
