CANINE FRIENDLY - Single family home on a quiet cul de sac, four sets of sliding doors to lanai (from master, guest, kitchen and living rooms), three sets of triple sliders open entire lanai onto screened in pool (pool will be heated starting in November 2015) - the lanai has two ceiling fans and patio furniture - enjoy your morning coffee watching the boats go by or enjoy the beautiful tranquil sunsets with a glass of wine from the beautiful lanai. Walk down to the boat dock to the deep water canal and fish or just relax and watch the pelicans - you might see a dolphin. King bed in master with large walk in closet, double bed in guest room with spacious closet and Murphy bed in 3rd bedroom. Home is fully furnished - just bring your toothbrush! Garage parking with a semi-circular driveway. The pool and lawn are maintained and cable/wifi are included. Available year round - canine friendly. We hope to retire to this home in 3 years. In the meantime, we share this lovely home with retirees looking to escape frigid northern winters, or it is perfect home for a 'summer get away' as opposed to the cramped quarters of a hotel. We are close to Fort Myers which is south - a little further drive north to Sarasota, St. Pete and Tampa.

Rather than charge a hefty refundable damage deposit, we have opted for the insurance through VRBO.com. It is an excellent arrangement that protects EVERYONE.

We have intentionally listed our home for less than comparable homes in the area - we simply want to be able to maintain the home, i.e., pay the mortgage etc., until we are able to retire. Also, it is preferable to have a home occupied as opposed to vacant. Unfortunately, the State of Florida has to get their "cut" and there is a 12% tax that is mandatory, and paid to the State.

Punta Gorda has the distinction of being the #1 City in America for retirees. It is a great boating community and has many quiet streets and bicycling paths.

Perfect getaway.

We just spent a week at this rental. Great neighborhood, amazing spot.

Priceless view from the pool on the boat canal.The house is quiet, cleaned , well geared up. Susan was easy to reach and great with communication. The owners have a great attention to details ( from nice comfortable bed with soft sheets, dark curtains in bedrooms to be able to sleep in, to the Keurig machine and the list goes on). The price was very reasonable and we were able to have our old sweet dog with us. It was perfect.

We truly enjoyed our stay. We would love to come back.

We found wonderful beaches in Boca Grance and Gasparilla island , a drive away but totally worth it for the day! Highly recommended!!

Perfect home on the canal in Punta Gorda.

With the pool & the canal stretching across the entire back of the house the view was absolutely beautiful. We fished in the canal & swam everyday. I walked my dog around the neighborhood & everyone was nice. The house was super clean and well stocked. It was like hanging out at a friend's house. Had a minor problem with the dryer and the owner had it fixed immediately. I highly recommend this property.

Perfectectly Relaxing

We chose this property because of the previous reviews, and because we wanted to be in Punta Gorda..

The home met ALL of our expectations, that it be located on the waterway, with a pool, located in the Punta Gorda Isles subdivision, and tastefully decorated.

Every morning we sat out by the pool with our morning coffee, enjoying the beautiful scenery, the passing boats

and some times the fish jumping out of the water. The location was perfect to enjoy all Punta Gorda has to offer.

Susan and Dave where the most gracious of hosts, available to answer any questions when ever I called.

We plan on returning again next year.

Lovely Place

We stayed here the month of August 2016, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Has a nice dock and boat slip, great view very quite area.

The home owners are great people. Very nice home. Large lani, has a nice pool. The house was very clean had everything we needed. Planning on going back to this house next year if we stay in this area.

Fishing was great as well!!

Very relaxing vacation.

My husband and I just retired a week before arriving and spent 5 great weeks at the house. The pool was great and the view from the lanai out to the canal to watch all the boats going by was fun. The morning sunrises and evening sunsets was a plus. We did a lot of golfing at several golf courses

in the area such as Deep Creek, Bobcat Trail, Port Charlotte Country Club and several others never had to play one twice. Shops restaurants

indoor and outdoor pubs plentiful and fun. The Saturday and Sunday farmers market in Punta Gorda was awesome for fresh fruits, vegetables,

fish and other vendors with all different treasures. The house was well stocked, neighborhood very nice, only suggestion we have is a TV in the master bedroom. Thank you Susan for a great vacation to start off our retirement, and keeping in touch with us while we were there, definitely looking forward to coming back.

Nice property

We spent a lovely 3 days at our rental until my husband became ill and was hospitalized.

The cleaning staff needs to look more closely UNDER the furniture as well as around it and the pool could have used a good cleaning.

The house is an older one, but still lovely.

We loved Punta Gorda and it's hospital is very welcoming and helpful.

Owner's Response: I am concerned this guest rated her overall vacation and not the home, which is the only reason I can see for the 3 star review. The home was built in 1983, so yes it is a slightly older home - not a new build. I have used Merry Maids for some time and have never had a substandard cleaning service. Also, the pool diamond brite is a light shade of green - it is NOT algae. I was at the home the evening this guest checked out and the pool was pristine. I am truly sorry this guest's Husband was taken ill and hospitalized, but 3-stars because they may have spotted something under a piece of furniture should not resulted in only 3-stars. All my other reviews have been FIVE STARS. I believe her review is not accurate and not representative of the loveliness and comfort of this home.
