About Chamain O'Mahony
Sean & Chamain bought the building & house in December of 2011 to create a bakery for artisan breads with an attached guesthouse & studio. Sean has been a financial systems consultant, traveling the country to universities and Fortune 100 businesses, but would rather bake bread. Chamain is an artist (paints the Creole Cat) and principal with The BOS Group, a business consulting firm, who loves healthy baking and eating vegan muffins & sweets. Chamain was born and raised in New Orleans, graduating from Tulane in chemistry with an MBA from Emory. While in Atlanta, Chamain met Sean in an Italian Restaurant where they both worked. They married and later moved home to New Orleans while Sean received his MBA from Tulane. That was almost 20 years ago. Sean & Chamain have been married 28 years and have 3 precious rescue kitties at their primary home and 3 at the bakery properties. They love traveling abroad and discovering healthy, new & exotic foods. They both enjoy exercising--Sean likes running and Chamain prefers yoga--but both loves walking on the levee right outside of Bakery House!
Chamain O'Mahony purchased this Studio in 2011
Why Chamain O'Mahony chose Leonidas
The bakery, studio & guesthouse are 5 minutes from the O'Mahony home, which is right between the airport and the French Quarter--and only a block from the river for biking, running or walking the levee. Oak Street, is the coolest neighborhood in NOLA, too! The Bakery House, which has been listed for 3 years now, has over 40 5-star reviews! We designed this property to have everything we would want for an extended stay with the perfect artistic touches.
What makes this Studio unique
We love walking Oak Street, with all the fun antique shops, restaurants, coffeehouses, consignment shops and the streetcar line. And the river, where you can walk, bike or run the levee (no cars allowed), is only a block away!

Great space and great location
This studio is fresh and modern with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Great high ceilings make the space feel even bigger than it already is and the bathroom is fantastic. "Breads On Oak" studio is the perfect size for two.
You can easily walk to the coffee shops and restaurants on Oak St. Being beside a great bakery was the icing on the cake. (no pun intended)
Very comfortable accommodations in a great neighborhood.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely stay here again. The bed was very comfortable, and the lighting was perfect. This studio is designed for the guest, and it shows. The little extra touches were very much appreciated, such as tissues and a fantastic shower head, just as an example. There is a train track nearby, so if that kind of noise bothers you, then this may not be the place. The neighborhood is fantastic, with lots of dining options. Cowbell is a block away and a very cool spot to dine. Breads on Oak bakery is a wonderful plus for veg breakfast and goodies.
great location, lovely studio
My husband and I spent the month of January 2018 in this apartment. It was very comfortable, cute and modern. The location is safe and convenient to both the Oak Street corridor as well as the St. Charles streetcar and the Mississippi River riding trail. Owners were great. Bakery next door was fun. Television was large with the added bonus of being able to view all standard cable channels and being able to record. Liked having convenient washer and dryer. Appliances, bed, couches, dishes and accessories were really nice. Only con is that there is very little natural light. We got used to it and hope to go back.
My Offical NOLA home!!!
Cozy place! Love it! Nicely decorated. Need a little dusting but all and all great! Had an issue with the heating unit but Owners made accommodations for it. Couldn’t have asked for a better owner to work with or a more charming place to bring in the new year!!!
Well designed and furnished.
I was a little disappointed to find extreme mold growth in the coffee pot. It made the spider webs in the lightshade a minor annoyance.
On the bright side was the close attention you and your husband paid to our needs.
Great Vacation Rental
My wife and I chose this rental based on previous excellent reviews. It certainly lived up to our expectations. The host is very accommodating and runs a thriving bakery business next to the property, so she was always available if need be. We were first time visitors to New Orleans and were happy to stay in the Oak Street area rather than in the heart of downtown. We rode the streetcar every day, which has a stop near the unit, and got to all area attractions easily and inexpensively. The place itself is spacious and contemporary, and the Oak Street area has plenty of high quality restaurants and a great all around vibe. I highly recommend this rental and look forward to visiting again.
Attached to Bakery House is our artisan bakery & cafe, with organic breads, pastries, sandwiches & soups. And within blocks are funky bars, restaurants, coffeeshops & antique shops, walking & biking path along the Mississippi River, Streetcar rides to the French Quarter. There's also Hollygrove Market for fresh produce and other goodies open every day. We also have listed a 3 bedroom property, called "Bakery House."
